Break Through Career Obstacles — Tarot Pick a Card
Hello, my soul friends! I have a free psychic tarot reading today on how to break through career obstacles you’re experiencing now or think you might experience in the future.
To receive your message from the universe, pick one of the piles above using your intuition.
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
For this reading, I’ve used the Dark Mirror Oracle deck. The pile images come from a Refustar sticker pack. These are affiliate links, and they help support me if you choose to make a purchase.
Remember that you have free will. That means you can manifest the positive and avoid the negative of any reading.
Now it’s time to break through those career obstacles and find success.
Pile 1: You Are Your Own Wizard

Physical Limitations
The reason you’ll struggle in your career unless you make a change is that you’re focused on being comfortable. That’s an admirable desire, so I’m not saying you should choose to suffer. But you need to be willing to take calculated risks if you want to progress.
The first card, The Temple Of My Body, is a preoccupation with health, probably physical. You’re triggered by discomfort, likely fatigue or mental taxation.
One thing to consider is whether or not you have certain conditions that would make living normally without medication or therapy difficult in comparison to other people. ADHD is a good example here because someone may get distracted or frustrated when doing tasks, and no amount of practice or tools will fix that problem unless they come at it from an ADHD framework.
But just like with calorie counting and weightloss – give the normal tools and techniques a sincere attempt before spending the time and sometimes money to go through the diagnostic process. Productivity tools and techniques do work for the average person. If you already know or suspect you’re the exception, that’s different.
If you’re encountering that wall, get specialized help. You may be able to tackle that problem to the point it bothers you less or not at all when it comes to work in the future.
Lay the Groundwork
It appears as if you’re on the road to regret. The second card, Gilded Regret, indicates that you keep putting off your goals and leaning on your problems as an excuse not to pursue them.
But instead of focusing on those problems as excuses, instead view them as problems that need to be actively addressed. That doesn’t mean you can resolve them overnight, but if you look at your problems with a growth-oriented approach, you won’t ruminate in them.
One of the best ways to change habits is to change how you view your identity. About fifteen years ago, my dentist told me not to have any more chewing gum since it could harm my dental work. This was tricky at first, but I kept telling myself that I’m not a person who chews gum.
So anytime I saw gum in a store or was offered it, I just didn’t take any. And I haven’t had any since then. I remember it taking up to year before I finally cut the habit entirely.
Either in meditation or in a journal, create an identity-affirming statement that addresses your current problem as not being relevant. And anytime you feel tempted to partake in a problematic behavior, remember that identity statement.
Pay Attention
There is some chaos either in your personal life or in your career field. The final card, Peaceful Among Thorns, suggests you either ignore the problem or don’t interact with it. That’s fine, sometimes, but I think you’re bordering on denial.
I remember watching web designers worry they would lose their jobs as sites like WordPress and Squarespace came onto the scene. They were concerned that they wouldn’t be able to be hired by a client. However, some web designers saw an opportunity to create templates that they could then sell in bulk. This dramatically scaled their revenues and allowed them to work fewer hours.
Now I don’t know what the situation is among web designers right now, and it’s feasible AI is causing the death of their field so they need to transfer their skillset to something else. However, this example shows what you should try to do when there are environmental problems. Try to work within the new parameters instead of ignoring it. There’s a possibility you could benefit.
And if you really can’t do that, you might need to transition to something else. Remember: don’t focus solely on your comfort. It may cause you to ignore warning signals that could direct you to more profitable endeavors.

Pile 2: Shine Brightly

Be Mindful of What You Say and Do
You may like drama or are triggered by dramatic situations. Hey, I get it – we all want life to be interesting, and there may be something about your career which is monotonous or frustrating even if you enjoy it. Usually, this tends to be other people, like coworkers or customers.
For example, I’ve never heard of a nurse saying they liked all their coworkers. Drama is the norm, not the exception in that field. The word “high school mean girl” is frequently used.
The first card, Calling the Storm, is you inviting problems into your life. You may be a forward or aggressive person who likes to confront bullshit instead of ignoring it. This has probably served you well in the past and prevented you from being a victim.
But sometimes, the forward approach is not the best one. The storm you’re likely to invite into the near future may be beyond your ability to survive. Be careful and avoid any drama for at least a few months. It’ll give you the opportunity to find a door to success.
Think Ahead
When you encounter drama, you focus on how it will affect you today instead of the consequences down the road. The second card, Today For Tomorrow, indicates you sacrifice long-term success for short-term gain.
For those with coworkers or customers, you might be triggered or liable to get into arguments. For those who tend to work alone or aren’t socially triggered, you may like get rich schemes or shortcuts that make your work easier.
The problem with this orientation is that there’s a progression of events or timelines that you need to go through before you get what you want.
Now I’m not saying you should accept abuse or poverty, but you need to consider if your current actions actually invest in your future.
A common problem in my area is that workers will be chronically late. When I worked at Amazon for a season, the orientation trainer purposefully waited a half an hour before starting class because he knew people were going to come in late with their coffee and biscuits. By the way, there is no traffic in my region. It’s impossible to be late if you leave on time.
Managers often complained that as nice as our region was over the phone, they were apparently some of the worst when it came to tardiness. And it was all over personal choice. Those employees never got hired for a permanent position, and they couldn’t understand why.
You may not have as morally questionable a problem as my previous coworkers did, but it does exemplify how your short-term desires or concerns could lead to problems down the road. Look at your choices objectively to see if you’re accidentally sabotaging yourself. A coworker, boss, or even a friend might be able to provide some insight if you’re willing to accept constructive criticism too.
Reasserting Your True Self
Your final card, Losing Oneself, shows that you get lost in your emotions. Now this could be anger or laziness, but it could also be fear or sadness too. Especially if you’ve been feeling targeted.
This is part of the reason why you get triggered and invite the storm. You feel so intensely and so acutely that you want that feeling to stop. But that feeling becomes your identity and you forget who you are as you only react from an identity of fear, sadness, or whatever it is you’re feeling. Some who chose this pile might feel chronic joy, and that causes them to ignore problems.
A strategy that might help you is to brainstorm what sort of conflicts you’re likely to encounter in your career and then develop a plan of response. If your narcissistic coworker bullies you? Then you’ll gather evidence and report. My mom’s old workplace had a bullying problem, and an employee secretly recorded the bully so she would get fired.
You won’t be able to predict every possible conflict, but once you have enough plans in place, you’re less likely to respond to the majority of conflicts from emotions.
It’s a bit like emergency planning. Instead of letting the disaster happen and then reacting, you have a standard plan in place and you get everything you need to get prepared ahead of time.

Pile 3: Magic Is an Everlasting Glow

Wearing the Mask
You have the tendency to hide. Masquerade is a sign that you aren’t your true self when you’re involved in your career.
Now sometimes, this is appropriate. An introvert working with children needs to be more outgoing than they would be at home. But that doesn’t mean they need to be an intense, energetic teacher. They can choose to be a more calming presence who is present.
That’s the problem you’re having. Some part of your personality or identity isn’t the stereotypical match for your career, so you’re trying to pretend to be someone you’re not. It’s making you uncomfortable, and you feel that succeeding even more in your career would require you to be more of that person – so you avoid opportunities.
An introverted teacher who loves their job is less likely to speak the entire class period in front of their students or be the focal point of a large group activity. Instead, they might do shorter demonstrations and then break the class into small groups and independent activities.
Consider how you can twist your career environment to better represent your needs as an individual.
Rejecting the Poison
The mask you wear is currently changing who you are. Black Flower Fragrance is a sign that this mask is poisoning you. Even if the mask is a perfectly healthy and normal identity, when you wear it, it’s not you, so it makes you feel bad and alienates you from the identity you actually want to have.
If you want a job, you should dress the part. If you want to be something, fake it till you make it. Do you see how wearing a mask will eventually turn you into the person you don’t want to be?
So try to change that mask even as you are trying to change your environment. Is there something different you could wear? A different action you can take at work that will assert your identity?
Try describing, drawing, or creating a vision board for the identity you want to be wearing at work. Then ask yourself if you’re living that out. If not, start making changes.
Because the mask may be succeeding, but pushing you towards a future you don’t want.
Using Your Ego
You’re very self-focused even as you’re wearing a mask. That’s not a bad thing, and the Queen of My World card shows a healthy ego underlying everything.
The problem is that you may be viewing that world as just having you in it. And thinking that being the ruler of that world means everyone serves you.
In the monarchy, a good monarch or noble believes in something called noblesse oblige. This is the idea that anyone with privilege is meant to use that privilege for a higher good. So what does being successful in your career mean for others or the world itself?
Doing that will help channel your energy outward in a way that forces you to project your identity in a healthy expression. Your identity itself is a privilege.
When I was teaching, one of the students said that she liked me because I was a calming presence. I wasn’t intense, I wasn’t extroverted, but I was very grounded. That meant students could come into my room and relax. Which actually was my goal as an introverted teacher.
Your identity is a good thing when you express it in the right way. And it can make you successful even if it’s different from the norm in your field. You just have to recognize that it may take a different form than most. But that difference may be what’s desired and it can be a niche you’ll benefit from.
