Work Smarter, and Maybe Harder

Something you invested your time, energy, or money into isn’t going to work out in the way you hoped for according to the Seven of Coins, Reversed. Because this is a minor arcana card, this is likely to be a project or task, not some lifelong dream.

Failure doesn’t necessarily mean a permanent one and the rest of your spread does suggest you have the option to either restart whatever this is or try something new. You’re really just facing a frustrating obstacle.

This could be a confirmation that you’re doing something you don’t like and should stop. But just as likely, it’s a sign your approach isn’t what you need to be doing.

One thing you should certainly try is to focus. You have too many things going on at once. Now that doesn’t mean you should cut things out of your life, but make sure that this thing you’re trying to make work has your devoted attention.

You can’t make something happen if you aren’t investing your soul into it. Don’t pursue things with a shallow energy in hopes that everything will work well in the end.

Find Your Reason When You Try Again

It’s unfortunate, but the Three of Cups, Reversed suggests a lack of joy or social support in what you’re doing. I’d love to tell you that work or doing a task is always fun – but that would be a lie. And when it doesn’t go well, it’s even less fun.

The reason this is occurring is that you may have forgotten why you chose to do this thing in the first place. Was it a mistake? Somehow, I doubt it, even if it feels like you picked the wrong thing right now.

Realistically, happiness often comes from competence and experience. Even if you hate something, once you do it well long enough you’re going to appreciate and even look forward to that task – especially if it’s received well by other people.

So trust your initial intuition that you picked the thing you did for a reason, but ask yourself if you’re either approaching it wrong or you’re frustrated by your current lack of success.

Someone who wants to be an artist may believe they hate art because they can’t draw people. But perhaps they can’t draw people because they didn’t practice drawing from life or they prefer drawing animals.

See what I mean? Try again and consider what it is you really like about the thing you picked.

Commit to the Bit

You’re going to need to accept that you’re not one hundred percent prepared, but you need to act anyway. The Page of Swords card is about bravely making a decision and committing to it… for now. Even if you don’t have everything you need.

You may be tempted to go back to the drawing board and create an intense and detailed plan. But, chances are, the reason your current investment failed is that you didn’t have all the information you needed to make it a success.

Sometimes, experience is more valuable than preparation, and I think that’s the case here. Look at your current failure as an important lesson to help you tweak your approach. Perhaps you might even find that this derailment was what you needed in order to be happy with it the end.

Temporarily Discouraged

You recently started or will start something that’s not going to go well. The good news is that it can, but you’re going to need to be prepared to shift your behavior.

The first card in your spread, Page of Coins, Reversed, is about rejecting a new opportunity. What you start really is everything it promises to be, but it’s going to get twisted in a harmful way.

You’re going to sabotage yourself or allow yourself to be sabotaged. There are many possible reasons for this. Perhaps you’re afraid you aren’t good enough so giving up early on seems like it would hurt less. Or maybe there’s someone in your life who you know is ruining things for you, but you don’t or can’t stop them.

There will be some negative effects to this. Whatever you intend to start will obviously fail, but you may be discouraged from doing things in the future that would also help. This is due to a lack of confidence, poorer health, or even worse financial circumstances.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Address the Core Issue

You’re going to face a major temptation according to The Devil card. It could be a pattern of temptation you’ve fallen to before, but it’s something very difficult to handle.

As an example of what I’m talking about, imagine someone who wants to start a diet, but they fail because they’re addicted to sugary foods. Why are they addicted to sugary foods? Probably because it makes them feel good so they use it to self-soothe the difficult parts of their life.

The truth is, your temptation fills a need. You need to get to the bottom of that need and ask yourself why you can’t find a healthy replacement. It’s not easy to beat an addiction by just stopping. You need to displace that addiction with a healthier habit.

That’s why it’s usually recommended for someone who loses weight and wants to celebrate it to celebrate with something other than food.

Once you tackle this temptation and find a healthier alternative, you’ll find that whatever thing you started will be easier to do and you’ll feel more confident while in progress of it.

A very small minority of you may also be dealing with negative spirits or a curse. But if that’s the case – you already suspect it because some weird shit is happening around you that can’t be explained.

Help Is Out There For You

I see that your spread has a very positive card in the Three of Coins. This is a card of manifestation, working with others, but also receiving spiritual support in your normal life to achieve something great.

This Is Your Time

With the King of Cups in your spread, you’re really stepping into your intuitive power. This can manifest in better relationships, creativity, or spiritual abilities. This isn’t something that you just feel, it helps you to do things.

Now this is pretty intense and in this card the white water of the waves is a bit overwhelming. I don’t think you’ll be overwhelmed so much as the other people around you. You may be a little much to others right now.

That’s not necessarily a bad thing though, but it could cause some jealousy or bitterness. If you start a new relationship, create something amazing, or showcase something like a psychic ability someone may not be happy with you.

But that doesn’t mean you should stop what you’re doing if you’re otherwise acting in a moral way. Don’t abdicate your throne just because someone is trying to stage a coup. It’s okay to embrace this intuitive power. It’s who you are and you don’t have to apologize for it.

Also, make sure you aren’t smothering people with affection. There’s a limit to how much people will accept, especially if it’s different from how you acted in the past.

You Can Make What Matters to You

You’re going to be in a great period to manifest according to The Magician card. After this reading, you’re going to want to write down three things that you would like to manifest in the next few months.

I can’t tell you how many times I felt myself inspired and ready to create… but then I just used that energy on something else entirely. That’s something you may accidentally do because you may be distracted by your hobbies or use it on something that doesn’t matter (like detailed planning).

Sometimes it’s not even about taking a day off, but lowering the intensity of what you’re currently doing and letting your mind have little breaks between thoughts and actions.
