Your Pet Wants to Say This: Tarot Pick a Card
Hello, my soul friends! Today I have a fun reading from your pet. If you have more than one pet, think about a specific one when selecting a pile. If a second or even third pile is calling to you when you think of another pet, then check that pile for their message too.
Be aware that your furbaby (or scalebaby, featherbaby, et cetera) isn’t human. That means their thoughts aren’t as complex as ours. Even so, they have sincere feelings!
All you have to do is pick the pile that sticks out to you the most. Which flower inspires your intuition? That’s your pile and that’s your tarot reading.
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
Here I’m using the Cat Tarot deck (this is an affiliate link that supports me if you make a purchase). Remember that you have free will. That means you can manifest the positive and avoid the negative of any reading.
Now it’s time to hear what your pet wants to say.
Pile 1: Rose Flowers
Explore With Your Pet
I see that the first card in your spread is the Two of Swords, Reversed. In your spread and with a pet, this card means that they can’t communicate effectively because they aren’t thinking clearly.
It’s difficult for your pet to make decisions and they may feel a little frustrated. Their innate intuition is failing them for some reason.
Now the rest of their spread is quite positive. That means this frustration is largely emotional rather than an indication your pet is in serious trouble. To empathize with your pet, think of all the times you struggled to work for what you wanted or say what you wanted to say. It can happen to your pet too!
You can help your pet by giving them different experiences. Your pet may be circling the wagon and is indecisive because they have no way to explore their options.
Take careful note of when your pet seems to be confused or upset by what you’re offering them. You may need to think outside the box for them until they respond favorably.
Think of a cat who doesn’t like a toy. Perhaps you should explore different toys until they find one they like.
Think Critically
The next card is the Two of Wands. Your pet can’t plan in the same way we do, so with this card, I think your pet sees something they want or something that interests them in their environment – but they don’t have access to it.
My dog is very interested in the neighborhood rabbits. I didn’t realize her interest would turn to carnage (as I soon learned, hunting rabbits is specifically what beagles were bred for). To be fair, my cat did bring my dog rabbits to watch what would happen. The second lesson is that cats are clearly serial killers.
Similarly, your pet’s intuition may be faulty, but they’re inspired by instincts. Consider researching their breed or species for possible clues. Most modern pets have been bred for specific traits and that’s usually reflected in their motivations and behavior.
If you don’t know your pet’s breed or this isn’t a good enough clue, pay attention to what your pet is focused on. Then use your best guess as to what their behavior in reaction to that focus might mean.
You Can Make Them Happier
Your third card is the Six of Pentacles, Reversed. This is a card of debt. Your pet is feeling like they don’t have enough. That’s probably because they want something and are confused about it, so they aren’t successful at getting you to give it to them.
When pets go without, they can get spicy in their behavior or sad. If it’s something they’ve failed to get for a long time, then you may be surprised by the change in their personality once it’s finally given to them.
I think that your pet knows that something is missing in their life and that they need your help to receive it. And, in the case of something they shouldn’t have (like rabbits), you may need to find a suitable substitution.
Fortunately, I think you’re more than up for the challenge to help brighten your pet’s day!

Be There for Your Pet
Judging by the spread, your pet feels like they’ve lost something. The first card, King of Cups, indicates your pet is quite emotional. Now they’re doing their best to express their emotions and you’re likely perceiving things correctly.
However, they’re also very much ruled by how they feel especially their environmental conditions. Your pet is sensitive and is especially reactive to new stimuli.
This can be for both good and ill. Be mindful of your pet’s emotional health. If you’re having a bad day, they’ll probably have a bad day too. They’re very empathetic for their breed or species and will mirror what’s going on in their environment.
However, if you spend quality time with your pet this can be mitigated. Make sure you don’t only seek out your pet to comfort yourself but to enjoy a happy time together too. Some pet owners get pets to soothe their own problems but neglect what their pet needs emotionally. Don’t be that person.
Your pet is not a tool of convenience. I think you already know this, just make sure your pet knows they can count on you too.
Going Through a Change
I see that the second card in your spread is the Six of Swords. This is a card of transition. In most decks the card is somber, but in this one, it’s happy.
This tells me your pet is going through a positive personal transformation. Even if it comes at the tail-end of some challenge of theirs, they’re growing and emotionally maturing.
Expect to see your pet become more comfortable and happy in their lives. Of course, this is dependent on a stable environment, but it seems like from your spread this will be something you can provide.
When a pet feels secure, they have the time and space to be themselves and let that self grow.
Address What’s Lost
The last card, Five of Cups, suggests your pet has recently lost something. They haven’t lost everything, but they do feel a particular lack in their lives.
I would expect to see this card for people who moved, added or lost a family member or pet, or something where your pet’s environment has changed around them.
Remember: your pet is more sensitive than average. And while I think your pet is trending in the right direction, be mindful that they perceive something is amiss in their lives.
For some of you, this loss is not recent. You’d be surprised how long an emotional wound scars a pet. A sibling who died years ago could leave a pet feeling lonely long after the other animal’s gone.
I developed a rare sleeping disorder about six years after I got my cat. He’s devastated by the fact I’m never awake at predictable times as it’s physically impossible for me to have a routine. And while he doesn’t appear as upset as he used to be, I know this change has been a pointed loss in his life years later.
Take some time to think about any major changes that have occurred in your pet’s life. What seems small to you may seem big to them (like moving around furniture!). You may not be able to return things to how they were, but you can check in with your pet and try some things to make them feel like the loss was addressed.

Pile 3: Blue Flowers
Pay Attention to Dangers
Some good and bad news in this spread, depending on how mindful you are of your pet. The first card, Seven of Cups, indicates your pet has some opportunities in front of them.
There’s a lot of curiosity here. This could be channeled into wandering off or taking a risk.
Not all of their opportunities are dangerous, but you need to make sure you have your pet’s best interests in mind when it comes to what they have access to. An outdoor pet may get lost and a ravenous pet may eat something they shouldn’t.
As a beagle owner, I know anything within reach of that dog’s mouth will be eaten. I know where all chocolate is in the house at all times.
Brainstorm all the ways your pet may accidentally kill themselves or get lost. This may cause some anxiety to you, but it will give you a lot of relief once you know you have safety precautions in place.
Overall, I don’t sense the death of a pet in this spread, but I do think you’re at risk of losing your pet to something – even if it just means they move in next door!
Your Pet Likes You
But now the good news. Your second card, Judgement, tells me your pet wants to stay with you and they’re just a little too curious for their own good. You need to engage with their curiosity and channel it productively.
Pay attention to your pet’s behavior and then let that behavior be mimicked under controlled conditions. Does your pet love to go outside? Only let them do so during the day or take them out on a leash. Some of you may want to build a catio.
Does your dog like to go hunting for treats? Make sure all food, especially food poisonous to dogs, is out of reach and then have a jar of treats ready to indulge them with that they can safely consume.
In a vacuum, your pet will find ways to entertain itself so you want to make sure there’s never a vacuum. (Also be mindful that your pet may loathe actual vacuums, but this is unrelated to the reading.)
Fortunately, you can use these substitutions as fun bonding time with your pet that you’ll both enjoy. They’d much rather direct their curiosity in your direction rather than into the void.
Wild Hearts in Domestication
Your final card is the Ace of Cups. This tells me your pet wants to try something new. This is why they’re at risk of wandering off or eating something they shouldn’t.
Pets like routines, but trying new things now and again is a great way to expand their minds and keep things interesting. Try new flavors of pet food, buy new toys, pick a new walking route – the options are endless.
You don’t need to drown your pet in novelty. Rather, make novelty a treat. Your pet will still want some stability in their lives to rely upon.
That’s why I think your pet getting lost or taking a risk isn’t a rejection of you. They definitely want to be around you, but their desire to try new things could lead to them going further than they’re used to and not being able to find their way home.
Simply put: you know your pet’s limits better than they do because your pets live in a human world, not a pet one. They aren’t aware of the dangers that lurk around corners. That’s your responsibility. So let them be curious and have their back.
