What Your Soul Needs: Tarot Pick a Card
Hello, my soul friends! Today we’re going to seek spiritual growth by finding what your soul needs right now.
All you have to do is pick the pile that sticks out to you the most. Which animal inspires your intuition? That’s your pile and that’s your tarot reading.
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
Today I’m using the Soul’s Journey Oracle deck (this is an affiliate link that supports me if you make a purchase). Remember that you have free will. That means you can manifest the positive and avoid the negative of any reading.
Now it’s time to grow your beautiful soul.
Pile 1: Hamster
Creating Abundance
I love your spread because it challenges a lot of modern notions about spirituality and materialism. Your first card is Success with the wisdom message of “I know that there is no greater goal than to love.”
This means that your soul needs to achieve something. But this achievement isn’t what you think. It can be related to money, career, relationships, creativity, and et cetera, yet that’s not what is happening here.
Instead, this is the universe saying your soul needs success because success affirms what you care about.
Whoa, right? You can’t just pick something that you’ll do well. Rather, you’re meant to find something you care about and affirm that care through a related achievement.
Love to draw? Create a portfolio of work. That’s what success means. To love what you do and to manifest that love into reality.
You’re Original
Your second card is Imagination with the wisdom message of “I embrace and nourish the creative aspect of my mind.” Your ideal success is creative.
Now creativity is often associated with art and entertainment. If that resonates with you, definitely go in that direction. But creativity is also problem-solving and the best scientists and business leaders use creative thinking to imagine outside of the box.
Whatever it is you want to achieve, try doing so in a self-expressive or unexpected way.
The reason why your soul needs this is that you’re focused on what other people expect of you right now. But this dogmatic thinking can erase your personality in favor of a false identity.
Embracing who you are starts with embracing your creative spirit. What’s something you can create that nobody else can?
An example: an artist who only traces isn’t creative. They’re just copying. Stop copying others and create from your mind. There’s something wonderful in there that wants to come out.
Be Open to Hearing Too
The final card in your spread is Empathy with the wisdom message of “I am open to seeing both sides of a situation.” There’s a duality in your spread between the world and yourself.
Back to the art analogy: an artist who creates without an audience in mind is likely to create something other people don’t understand and would dislike. There’s a reason most people have modern art unless they’ve been trained to appreciate it.
Yes, your success is about expressing yourself. But part of expressing yourself is being heard. You need to balance the space between others’ expectations and your eccentricity.
Your soul needs that because your soul needs a door into a community and this is exactly how it will happen. Once you find your audience, you’ll start using empathy.
And empathy at its best is a two-way street. The communication of whatever your creative success is will result in your audience responding to you. And that’s what you need and desire at a soul level.

Be Aware of Your Pain
I see that your spread indicates you have unresolved pain. The first card, Denial, has the wisdom message of “I acknowledge my fear, but I replace it with the insight of awareness.” This means your soul needs to find personal truth.
There’s something in your current life or your past that has hurt you. But your response was to cover up the pain.
Sometimes this is the right answer, but some pain lingers and it needs to be addressed so it doesn’t cause negative reactions in other areas of your life.
The first thing you need to do is find what is bothering you. If you’re unsure, consider what triggers you. Someone who is unusually triggered by angry people may have dealt with an angry person in a past relationship and this causes them to react unnaturally when seeing any level of anger at all.
But everyone expresses all emotions and deals with certain phases in their life. If you have unresolved pain, you may not be able to process this new experience or person appropriately when it occurs again.
Time to Let Go
The second card is Forgiveness with the wisdom message of “I acknowledge that harboring resentment blocks the flow of love.” This means your soul needs to break the bond of pain that exists in your life.
When you’re strongly attached to a negative emotion this can cause you to let that connection persist. Someone who divorced a spouse for justifiable reasons may find themselves dwelling on it a decade later. That preoccupation has to fade away for healing to take place.
Whatever triggers you and is the source of your pain, you need to find a way to move on from that pain. Forgiveness, either of the other person, system, or yourself, is necessary so you can give yourself the time and space to focus on better things.
This allows love to flow back into your life and replace the lingering pain.
Be Yourself Out Loud
Your third card is Self-Esteem with the wisdom message of “I possess gifts of the soul that benefit me and others.” I see this as meaning you have abilities, spiritual and non-spiritual, that could bring your life joy and fulfillment.
Some who chose this pile may already be aware of this, while others are unaware or need a reminder. The pain you’ve been covering up has also been covering up a gem within your life. A gift.
That’s because your covering up the truth led you to put up a barrier to opportunities you could have pursued. You were afraid to confront what needed to be confronted and had to sacrifice a part of yourself to do so.
By confronting your pain, you’ll open up some part of yourself that’s hidden or weakened. And your soul needs that. Because it’s who you are and you deserve to be the best version of yourself.

Pile 3: Beluga
Actually, You Get to Choose
Your spread is all about forging a path for yourself in the face of destiny. Your first card, Freedom, has the wisdom message of “I possess the power and the free will to create my own happiness.” What your soul needs is to manifest the destiny that you choose.
Something you hear spiritual people say a lot is that you chose to live this life and go through the hard lessons you did. I think there’s more nuance to that. You didn’t choose pain, but you did choose to live a life where that was possible because other great things would also be possible.
Bad things happen. It wasn’t your fault and you didn’t choose for those specific bad things to happen to you. That means you didn’t deserve them and you aren’t destined to keep repeating them in the future.
What your soul needs to embrace is the decision to live your best life in the identity you have now. There are wonderful gifts and interests you were born with or could have only been possible because of your life experiences. Explore those.
You Complete the Universe
The next card is Balance with the wisdom message of “I bring a state of perfect harmony into my world, and I do so without judgment.” I see this as a reminder from the universe that your gifts and interests were meant to be.
That means your soul needs to recognize that you have inherent worth. You can’t compare yourself to others, even your best self against their best selves, because who you are is unique. Your soul incarnated into this body to manifest that worth into the universe.
Without you, this life wouldn’t mean as much. You provide value because the best energy you send out into the universe has amazing ripple effects.
You should lean into that and help balance the bad vibrations in the world. Your best self can radically change your part of the universe into something better. And that can be shared with others to make the ripple effect go even further.
Your Honest Self Must Manifest
The third card is Honesty with the wisdom message of “I can’t always expect the truth from others, but I can expect it from myself.” When compared with your previous cards this is a sign that your honest desires need to be fulfilled.
Society will lie and pressure you to think a certain way. If you listen to this too much, it will warp your thinking. Some are white lies or aren’t necessarily harmful, but others warp you so much that it poisons you.
Never lie to yourself about what you want or what your purpose is. As long as you’re honest, your highest self will direct you toward love and light.
The negative things aren’t you. Don’t lean into the worst parts of yourself as those are the parts that have been warped by society.
Hold to what is true and good because that’s what your soul needs right now.
