Your Legacy Revealed: Tarot Pick a Card
When this life ends, hopefully a long time from now, you’ll leave a legacy. This tarot pick a card is designed to help you figure out what that legacy is and why it’s important to know in this life.
All you have to do is look at the piles of cards above. Which lion sticks out to you the most? That’s your pile and that’s your tarot reading!
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
Today I’m using the Golden Art Nouveau Tarot and the Angels and Ancestors Oracle deck (these are affiliate links that support me if you make a purchase). Remember that you have free will. That means you can manifest the positive and avoid the negative of any reading.
Now let’s figure out what your legacy is going to be.
Pile 1: Blue Lion
You’re a Good Person
The first card in your spread is Stag with the wisdom message of “Trust and Thrive.” I get a strong sense from this card that your legacy is one of family or community.
There’s a relationship orientation to this spread and this card that denotes honor. Your character is going to be one that other people respect, whether it be children, family members, friends, or members of your local community.
For most who choose this pile, your greatest legacy will be in your children. You will raise them to become of great consequence. For others, this card may indicate an influence on a person or the community.
An example: you belong to a writing group that pioneers a new movement.
Your character will be the origin no matter how it manifests in your life.
Think Locally to Connect Broadly
The next card in your spread is the Two of Wands, Reversed. Although your legacy may have far-reaching effects, while alive the effect will be limited in scope. Your legacy is not about working within the world and far away from home, but rather about the social ties that matter most to you and your daily life.
People sometimes forget how influential you can be just by truly interacting with the people in your life. There’s this famous saying that you’re connected to every person on Earth through a chain of five people.
Never discount the effect your immediate relationship with the first person in the chain can be. The universe wants you to invest in those relationships because your legacy will be defined by them.
After all, the people who care about you are more likely to preserve your legacy to begin with!
The infamous Alexander Hamilton had his legacy preserved because of the tireless efforts of his wife, Elizabeth (who also helped fund the Washington Monument in America’s capital).
An Influential Leader
The way you should think about your legacy is that it’s something you build in your life through the authority of your actions. No matter whether you like to take the lead or not, you set a powerful example that others will look to for inspiration or guidance.
Your last card, The Emperor, features a leader holding an orb in his hand. That orb represents the world. Although you’re not in the world as much as you would like to be, your authority will transform it. The expectations you set for yourself for proper behavior and action are exactly what the world needs to change for the better.
You’ll become an authority who deserves to be trusted. However, you’ll face attacks from those who don’t want to act with the same morality or work ethic as you, so be aware that you must arm yourself against those who will try to break you down.
But the justness of your character is not the only thing. Your good actions will lead to abundance for you and the people around you. The Emperor is a person of consequence and wealth, after all.

Pile 2: Red Lion
Focus on Your Foundation
Your first card is Shaolin Master with the wisdom message of “Be Graceful in Movement and Action.” Your legacy is going to be one of action and not something you can plan ahead.
This may be disappointing to hear for some of you, so it may be helpful to understand this: you won’t be able to choose your exact legacy, but you can choose the manner of that legacy. A writer may not be able to choose which book will become the favorite of their readers, but by writing they do choose that writing will be their legacy.
Stop looking at what you want to leave behind as specifics. Instead, view your life with discipline and in creating a platform that produces different potential legacies.
You’re Vulnerable and That’s a Good Thing
The second card is the Page of Swords. There’s a lot of mental acuity in this card. Just like the martial artist in the previous card, you aren’t wearing “armor” when you’re going out in the world. In that sense, you’ll likely be vulnerable but it will help you move in places that other people can’t.
If you’re an emotional person, this vulnerability will allow others to better understand your emotional state and empathize. You’ll likely feel the woes of your life strongly, but also the happy things too.
If you’re not an emotional person, and I sense many who chose this pile consider themselves more rational, then your vulnerability is in the opportunities you seek.
Not everything you do is going to work out. You’re going to have a list of failures. But even though some of what you do won’t succeed… you only need one to change your world and the world forever.
Know that you’re living bravely and pushing against the limits of your life to manifest something great. Your legacy is of unique importance and type.
There’s no reward without risk.
The Happy Curse of Being Interesting
The last card in your spread, Knight of Swords, Reversed, indicates where you’re going to have trouble with your legacy. I previously mentioned that you won’t be able to plan your legacy. I think that is in part due to the impulsive and feisty nature of this card.
You’re likely to be intrigued by new ideas and follow them to the detriment of forgetting something else. Still others who chose this pile may work tirelessly on many projects and find the one they cared the least for was the one most admired.
What you’ll need to do is understand that what you expect will become your legacy today may not be the legacy you find yourself leaving behind at the end of your life. Enjoy the work you do in the moment and allow yourself to look back fondly on everything else you do, including your failures, with the proper perspective: your body of work is impressive because of the story it tells about your search for the idea or action that’ll change the world.
It makes you interesting.

Pile 3: Green Lion
A Time for Growth
There’s a lot of spiritual energy in your spread so it’s possible that your legacy can transcend lifetimes or reincarnations. I also sense that you’re partly affected by a past life’s legacy.
Your first card, Snake, has the wisdom message of “Shed Old Skin.” It seems like the goal of your legacy is to make a personal change. This change is absolutely necessary for you to grow in this life but also in your soul.
Because we see a snake in this card, it could indicate that you were tempted to act in a way that did not benefit you and so you were punished. So the shedding of your old skin is about becoming a better person and growing into the person you were always meant to be.
The Limits of Your Soul Are Not Freed
Your second card, The Moon, Reversed, deals with a past life influence on your legacy or a trying time in your first life. You were confused and constantly threatened. This may have caused you to bottle up your emotions or not show your true self.
That means the old skin you’re shedding is the parts of you that are fake. You’re trying to get rid of the weight off your shoulders. But it can also refer to the weight of your past life and the karma that affected you.
This means part of your legacy is continuing to grow into that positive karmic cleansing so you’re next life will also be good.
Note that this card also has a lot of psychic power. You’re likely coming into a situation where you better understand your own abilities or how to use your intuition. But it’s still going to require some effort to activate as you’re in the thick of your personal conflict right now and won’t understand every message the universe sends your way.
Your Legacy Is Now
Your last card is the Ace of Wands. An ace card represents a beginning and it can also represent the person the reading is about: you. I sense that your soul is going to get a new start, either in this life or the next, which is going to be especially promising and empowering.
Don’t shy away from the spiritual lessons you’re learning because it’s going to help you to transform. Some lessons won’t fully reveal themselves until you’re about to reincarnate, but I think many lessons are something you can take to heart right now.
This is a sign from the universe that your legacy is about empowering yourself in the moment. The life you live is going to echo across space and time in ways you don’t even realize right now. You’re living through a very spiritual and personal development of your soul. And you’re going to see some manifestation of your legacy during your life itself.
This may take a materialistic form in your career or relationships, which is sure to increase your happiness when it finally arrives.
