Why You Should Surrender to the Universe
Do you compare yourself to other people? I do, even though I know I shouldn’t.
Entertainment and social media certainly makes it easy to feel as if we aren’t as good as the people around us. They’re successful and happy and we want that.
What am I doing wrong? You probably ask yourself. Am I not worth it?
But that’s the wrong way to look at it.
You’re comparing someone else’s destiny to your own. What’s meant for them may not be meant for you. You need to learn to spiritually surrender to the universe.
Why You Feel Stuck
The more you explore your spiritual path, the more you understand how distinct and significant everyone is.
Our universe has a carefully crafted plan and we all have our own parts to play. We certainly can help craft that narrative to our own lived preferences, but there’s already room for us.
You don’t have to earn your place in the universe. Just by being born, you accepted an amazing invitation to manifest the best life possible for yourself.
So why do we compare our invitation to somebody else’s?
The answer is simple: we see what somebody else has and assume that’s the exact blueprint we should follow. Many of us don’t yet understand that the universe’s divine plan is abundant and multi-faceted. Every life path is tailored to the individual, not to the collective.
Be Yourself First
Accepting your individual life path is easier than you think. The first step is gratitude.
Not everything in life is going to be great, but there’s always something about your experience that’s worth celebrating. It can be something big, like a romantic relationship, or something small, like a favorite food you got to eat that day.
When you choose gratitude, you’re accepting the individual blessings of your life. No longer are you comparing somebody else’s destiny blueprint to your own. This helps you to detach from spiritual comparisons and work towards embracing your own life path instead.
It’s okay to be inspired by someone else. A writer may read many books and feel motivated to create something similar to a favorite author. But, at the end of the day, their work will be unique and wonderful because they embraced their individuality. Life is self-expression, not emulation.
That’s what you need to do. By choosing gratitude over jealousy, you’ll be empowered to let your heart lead you toward your soul’s true and independent yearnings.
You have your own destiny blueprint. It’s just about discovering what that is.
Don’t Limit Who You Are
Resistance is often a sign that you’re trying to manifest someone else’s destiny blueprint rather than your own.
You shouldn’t fear challenges, but when you try something and you feel a strange, spiritual block it’s usually a message from the universe that you’re trying to copy someone else rather than express your own destined blueprint. Life isn’t meant to be impossible, but emulation often is.
A silly, but important example is fashion. People will look at their personality or friend group and assume they should dress a certain way. Even though the style may resonate with them, they’ll be afraid to dress outside the box they’ve put themselves in so they try to find a smaller box if the style they’re aiming for doesn’t perfectly fit their identity.
This has evolved among younger generations into aesthetic styles. Someone interested in an academic-inspired fashion will be afraid to step outside that mold. But what if they like dark colors? Their new fashion personality then must fit a new prescription: dark academia.
Stop trying to fit yourself into a box someone else created for themselves.
Practice Introspective Listening
Your identity and your destiny blueprint aren’t based on a group. It’s inherently individual and you’re allowed to live in ways that contradict or bust out of the norm.
It will help you to ground yourself. There are many ways to do this and they’re all contemplative in practice. What this does is detach you from the noise of the social world in your environment and center your body in time and space.
Press your bare feet onto the grass. Or, if you’re an indoorsy person like me, you can meditate or practice a mindfulness exercise like breathing. Journaling is also a good idea as it will help you have a conversation with yourself. And let’s not forget art.
When you quiet the chatter, even if it’s just a few minutes per day, you allow yourself to be present in your own company. This will help you to hear what your soul has to say about the current direction you’re going in.
Seek stillness and your body will move where your heart truly desires – not what somebody else wants for themselves.
You have a beautiful future ahead of you and I hope that you express that as an independent and valuable soul.
