What Your Soul Needs: Tarot Pick a Card
Tending to our physical needs is straightforward: our body sends us a signal like hunger or exhaustion and we seek out a remedy. But our spiritual needs can be more obscure and difficult to understand.
That’s why I created this tarot pick a card to help you discover what you need most right now at a spiritual level. All you need to do is look at the piles of cards above. The candle that sticks out to you the most is your intuition letting you know that spirit has a message for you.
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
In this reading, I’m using the Golden Art Nouveau Tarot deck (this is an affiliate link that supports my tarot reading). I’ll be drawing three cards.
It’s time to find out what your soul needs to know.
Pile 1: Green Candle
You Can’t Manifest Right Now
It appears from your first card, The Empress, Reversed, that you aren’t able to manifest as well as you would like. This could mean your spiritual gifts have been compromised, but it can also lead to your creativity, parenting, or other productive abilities being affected.
You’re probably feeling frustrated because you can visualize and imagine what you want to manifest, but it’s not happening. This isn’t just unrealistic expectations either – your routine manifestations are starting to falter too. Because of this, your confidence is now low and this has evolved into a spiritual block.
You Can’t Manifest Right Now
What you need to do is look towards your next card, the King of Swords, to determine the right course of action. This figure in the tarot is rational extroversion. In a sense, it’s in contrast to the more introverted divine feminine that The Empress represents. But both masculinity and femininity can manifest in the world from every person.
Do you see the butterfly symbols behind the King of Swords? In your reading, I sense a spiritual connection in everything you do. Even if you aren’t in the middle of a spiritual ritual, you can respect your spirituality through your actions.
Whatever you’re having trouble manifesting right now, have patience. If you continue doing the work in the most logical way, you’ll be opening the door to make new observations about your world and see the spiritual elements hidden in plain sight.
What You Do With Your Body Matters
The last card in your spread, the Four of Swords, Reversed tells me you shouldn’t view patience as inaction. This is normally a card of rest, but as a reversal, you’re “waking up” and acting out your intentions in the world.
This means you need to have a certain level of trust that your actions will eventually lead to the manifestations that you want. With the Law of Attraction, you’re often told to trust as if what you’re trying to manifest is on its way.
That’s because spirit may be choosing to hold back your spiritual gifts so you can align your physical world with the spiritual. Instead of hoping you’ll manifest a spiritual connection, that your children will show appreciation, or you’ll create a work of art, you act as if it’s happening now.
Spirit can use many pathways to attract your manifestations, but one of those pathways can be in your actions themselves. Don’t neglect the possibility that spirit is wanting to see you act in a certain way, continuously, before your manifestations appear. This is how your body comes into soul alignment.

Pile 2: Purple Candle
Unhappy With Life Right Now
Your first card, the Four of Cups, features a young man being offered a cup that he refuses. What I find interesting about this deck, however, is that the man looks to be asleep instead of consciously rejecting his choices.
I sense that things in your life aren’t going the way you’ve expected. Even though you have opportunities, you don’t see those opportunities as worth pursuing. You might not even be aware of good opportunities within your reach.
This has caused you to lose a little bit of enthusiasm in your life, and because of this, you aren’t feeling fulfilled at the soul level.
Things Are Happening Too Fast
The next card in your spread, the Eight of Wands, suggests a lot of movement in your life. You may have so many opportunities because your life is moving too quickly for you to enjoy it. It’s also causing you not to have enough time to think about your next step.
My suggestion is to stop, even if it’s just a few minutes per day, to meditate. Personally, I hate meditation and can only handle doing it for a few breaths, but I find that little amount I can do is an excellent way to loosen up my body and clear my mind. You can also try guided meditations which I do find more tolerable, and if I can handle them – so can you.
There are real benefits to meditation that can’t be ignored, especially with how fast things are happening in your life right now.
One more thing I would like to say about this card is the butterflies: they may be difficult to see for you, but some butterflies appear to be guiding the wands as they fly across the sky. You may not be able to see what good spirit is working towards right now, but feel confident that your soul is making a journey that will be worthwhile in the end.
Learning What Right for You
The last card for you is the Three of Swords. Here we see a heart pierced by three blades, so the traditional meaning of heartbreak seems apt. But with your other cards, I believe a different meaning is in order.
The suit of swords symbolizes decisions and clarity. Everything that’s happening to you right now is giving you a variety of experiences so you can look back at those experiences and come to the right conclusions for your soul growth.
Unfortunately, you are going to discover that some of what you thought you wanted in life isn’t to be. This is going to be a painful realization, so I suspect spirit is having things happen at a quick pace for you so this pain will be as brief as possible. However, you’ll also have experience understanding what is good for you. That’s going to make it a lot easier for you to pursue the best opportunities from the Four of Cups which you will be happier with.

Pile 3: Blue Candle
You’ve Been Stabbed in the Back
Not every spirit is a good spirit. I sense from your first card, the Ten of Swords, that someone you trusted at the soul level has betrayed you. This may be someone you thought was a spirit guide, but it could also be a person who is supposed to be a spiritual mentor.
You probably shared a lot about your personal life with them, but it led you astray. If you have a bad spirit guide, who isn’t a spirit guide at all but masquerading as one, they can influence your intuition to make bad choices. This can even lead to pretty scary tarot readings which you know aren’t true, but felt forced to pick.
Although this can happen to anyone, I’ve noticed this is more likely to occur with people who are experiencing trauma in the physical world, including mental and emotional. This leaves you open to spiritual attacks. Those who aren’t spiritual in the traditional sense of the world can have these manifest as harmful behaviors, addictions, or relationships.
Don’t Depend On Your Own Power
The next card in your spread is the Six of Wands, Reversed. Here your personal glory and self-confidence have been compromised. The reason why the Ten of Swords has been so harmful is that you no longer trust your intuition. And honestly? I don’t blame you. When an evil spirit latches on, you don’t want to use your spiritual gifts for fear of them being used to hurt you.
One of the best ways to overcome this is to not use your spiritual gifts. Instead, seek a higher power, purpose, or routine. As an example, I find that a lot of Christians suffer from demonic attacks, and they can’t safely use their intuition as I would. They find solace in prayer and their traditional faith.
There is a danger in seeking advice from more minor spirits as this opens you up to the influence of negative spirits who can sneak in. That’s why you should tap into your intuition under the guidance of your ultimate source in the universe, such as the universe itself, your perception of god, or a good daily routine for my atheist readers out there. You don’t have to do this all the time (Catholics don’t – they also pray with the help of saints), but it’s a good habit to do so now and again so you can align yourself to a greater good.
Overcoming Destruction
The good news is that your last card, The Tower, Reversed, suggests you will avoid the worst consequences of your spiritual betrayer or heal successfully. Know that avoiding the worst consequences won’t be easy, so if you’re unfortunate to find yourself in this situation leaning on your higher power will be a healing balm for you.
You may need to take some time off from your spiritual gifts until you’re more spiritually secure. That means tarot pick a cards, where you use your intuition, wouldn’t be a good idea. But if you want to use divination, something more static and not reliant on intuition, such as astrology, would be a good option.
However, you will be able to return to your spiritual gifts soon. You’ll know you’re ready when you feel confident again and an aura of positivity surrounds around you.
