Your Weakness in Love: Tarot Pick a Card
We all have love in this world. If you’re lucky, you’re loved by many, but everyone can give love which is a gift to your soul in itself. However, we sometimes face obstacles when it comes to love and struggle to find out why.
Today we’re going to use a tarot pick a card to ask the universe what your weakness in love is. All you have to do is select one of the piles of cards above. Allow your heart to fill with warmth and spread it out into the universe. That will help you use your intuition to find the reading which was meant for you.
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or click below.
In this reading, I’m using the Rider-Waite tarot and the Work Your Light oracle decks (these are affiliate links that support my tarot reading). I’ll be asking the universe three questions: what your weakness is, how that hurts you, and what you must do to heal.
Whether you’re single or in a relationship, this reading is for you.
Pile 1: Pink Heart
What Your Weakness Is
For this question, I pulled two cards: the Ten of Swords and the Queen of Pentacles, Reversed. I sense that a materialistic woman, perhaps even a maternal figure, created a deep emotional wound when you were younger. She was responsible for caring about you, but only managed to hurt you instead.
Because she was so influential on how you should have been loved, this caused distrust in others. To you, too much trust in love can lead to ruin. Other people can hurt and wound, either with their words or actions, and you don’t want to fall victim again.
How That Hurts You
Here I pulled the King of Cups. On the surface, this can seem like a very positive card. After all, the King of Cups is the master of emotions. But he can also take on the role of a diplomat, and because he is in contrast to the Queen of Wands, Reversed here, I believe you have evolved into a person who plays an emotional role rather than lives one out.
This can come in a variety of forms, but the two most common are the following: you try to be an emotional stoic and show no feelings at all in the real world. To you, the management of your emotions is complete neutrality. But this can cause you to not form the emotional bonds needed to create healthy relationships.
The second is that you act out emotions you don’t truly feel to make other people feel better. While this can help you enter into a relationship, friendly or romantic, it can also lead to you forming a bond with a person who either doesn’t truly understand you or wishes to take advantage of you.
Ultimately, you don’t know how to trust effectively and this means you can’t receive love appropriately.
What You Must Do to Heal
Your final card is Inner Temple with the wisdom message of “Devotion. Tune into the portal of your heart.”
The only way to heal the weakness of compromised emotional integrity is to allow yourself to feel and express that feeling. But that’s easier said than done. Yet the Inner Temple card gives us a clue: devotion.
This is where you express, through action, loyal love to an object of affection. Although normally used for worship, you can also be devoted to a person, a pet, or even an ideal.
Look within your own Inner Temple and ask yourself what (or who) is most important to you. Then, devote yourself by acting in support of that love. This brings to mind the Queen of Pentacles, Reversed, but here we’re putting her in the upright position: practical acts of love, such as doing the dishes or taking care of a need, is also one of the love languages.
The lesson you need to learn is that you can express sincere love in many ways. And once you do it in a manner you are likely most comfortable with, you’ll express it in other love languages, such as through words or physical touch, when you’re ready. Once you start showing sincere and healthy love, you’ll begin to receive it too.
Pile 2: Purple Heart
What Your Weakness Is
Your weakness is described by the first two cards: Four of Swords and the Six of Wands, Reversed. I sense that you feel defeated in love. Your passion burned out, likely publicly, and now feel that you must withdrawal to avoid any future hurt or embarrassment.
Love can be wonderful, but it can also hurt too. Sometimes, the feelings we have aren’t shared or the people we love break our hearts. And when that happens, it can seem like the world outside is a terrifying place.
But interestingly, I don’t get the feeling you believe this is permanent. Rather, the problem is that you believe, wrongly, that you just need a little more time to recover before trying again in love. However, you’ve been waiting too long.
How That Hurts You
Here I pulled The Star, Reversed. I believe you’re waiting for your soulmate or for your current relationship to evolve into a more spiritual expression of itself. However, this waiting is delaying your full enjoyment of love itself.
The Star is represented by the zodiac sign Aquarius. Although Aquarius can live a life devoted to improving entire communities, they can also be loners too. I believe that, like Aquarius, you see love too much as a spiritual mission and not a personal journey.
That means you aren’t allowing yourself to experience love, but idolize it as an object of spiritual worship. Love is a spiritual experience, but it’s also an earthly one. Because you don’t recognize this, you aren’t allowing yourself to live love now when opportunities do present themselves. Instead, you wait for the ideal moment.
There is no ideal moment.
What You Must Do to Heal
The last two cards in your spread are Warrior Woman with the wisdom message of “Have you answered your deepest calling?” and Awakening with “Energetic Upgrades. A new way of being. Integration.”
Don’t make the mistake of interpreting a too abstract, higher conscious reading for these two cards. Rather, turn back to your own earthly body. What you need to do is raise your vibrations so you can give and receive love in the present.
Trust that the universe is on your side and act in love like one must with the Law of Attraction. Yes, you should raise your vibrations and expect good things to happen, but that doesn’t mean turning down the opportunities of love the universe sends your way. Love is a journey of many steps and delightful detours.
Sometimes, you don’t even know what it is that you truly want or need. But the universe does, and if you raise your vibrations, you will attract the best possible opportunity to love and be loved.
A friend wants to hang out? That’s love. A family member wants to go on vacation? That’s love. A stranger is smiling your way? Love is opening a door.
See your life as one with many doors and start walking through them. Don’t wait for the universe to open a final, ultimate door. Instead, the universe is giving you many choices because love is a two-way street.
Pile 3: Yellow Heart
What Your Weakness Is
Yes, your spread is rather chaotic in form! For this question, I pulled three cards. The first is the Eight of Pentacles, Reversed Horizontal. When I draw a horizontal card, it’s a sign of “that’s true, but.” The Eight of Pentacles, Reversed is a card about not loving effectively. This is because of the Three of Cups and Three of Wands.
I sense that you had a happy relationship in the past with a group of people. However, you were slowly torn apart by your individual needs and desires, ultimately resulting in you all going in different directions. I suspect that this may be a group of friends as the number three is related to creativity. You all had similar interests and felt like kindred souls. Until you weren’t.
This breaking of the group depressed you, because you’re no longer on the same terms with these people or out of contact entirely. Now you approach every relationship with a desire to make it as perfect as this past group, yet afraid to commit all the same. I also think you try to replace this broken friendship in romantic relationships too.
How That Hurts You
Here, we see the Four of Cups and the Four of Pentacles, Reversed. Again, numbers are repeated and in contrast, reinforcing the numerology. Four is a number of stability, and I think you feel as if your social life is turbulent and contrary.
Like the man in the Four of Cups, you don’t want to just accept anyone into your life, so you miss a lot of opportunities to make friends. You may even be a bit standoffish and aloof to strangers, so their first impressions of you can hurt your chances to form any meaningful relationships down the road.
Instead, your focus is on protecting yourself. You hoard your energy and are becoming increasingly withdrawn from the world around you. You’re afraid to lose anything, or anyone else. No one is meeting your expectations.
What You Must Do to Heal
Your final card is the Sisterhood of the Rose with the wisdom message of “Beauty and devotion. Priestess. Mystic. Teacher.”
Right now, you’re being called to make new friends with similar interests. Even though your former group is no more, you can be the person that starts another. If you want, you can try reaching out to those you’ve lost to meet a few times a week to do something you all enjoy. Maybe it’s not the same thing as the past, but you can recognize that you have all grown and do something else instead.
But if those relationships can’t be mended because of time or distance, it’s okay to find new people to bring into your life. Join a class, an online group, or some other social environment where you can meet new people. Then, reach out individually to people you feel are kindred spirits.
Just remember that no one is going to be perfect and have all your same interests. And that’s okay.
Once you make new friends or repair your current friendships, you’ll feel that you have a burst of platonic love in your heart and will begin receiving it more in turn.
