Your Spiritual Gifts: Tarot Pick a Card
Everyone has the potential to tap into spiritual gifts, but it can be difficult to find out which one is yours. One method is to try something out and see if it clicks. But what if you have a spiritual gift and never encounter the method or tool to practice it?
That’s what this tarot pick a card reading is for: helping you use your intuition to discover the spiritual gift within. It’s easy: all you have to do is select one of the piles of cards above that sticks out to you the most.
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
In this reading, I’m using the Golden Art Nouveau Tarot and Work Your Light oracle deck.
Now let’s discover what supernatural gift you were given by the universe.
Pile 1: Blue
You’re a Spiritual Builder
Hello, my blue pile! The first card in your spread identifies your spiritual gift: a psychic intuition. This card, Pillar of Light, has the wisdom message of “Your vibration is rising. You are the oracle.” That means your psychic power has some interesting facets to it.
Your power comes from within. Vibrations are energy and everything in the universe is made of energy interacting with each other. You have a reservoir of positive vibrations that allows you to attract arcane knowledge to your body.
But how you manifest this psychic ability is more unusual: you’re a force of good. Don’t be surprised if your predictions are more positive or you’re unable to see negative readings as well as others. Your purpose is constructive, not destructive.
The Lighthouse
The next two cards in your spread describe how to use your spiritual gift effectively. The first, Queen of Cups, Reversed, speaks of the person you’re able to help best. Those who are depressed or suffering in some way need your spiritual gift in their lives. You’re able to turn their frown upside down.
But why are they in this position to begin with? The third card, The Devil, suggests they may either suffer under the forces of darkness or self-sabotage. Either way, they’re really hurt. That you’re a pillar of light means you’re a beacon in their dark world. You’re desperately needed.
There Are No Boundaries
Don’t just limit your spiritual gift in a spiritual context. Another word for what you do is lightwork. A lightworker is someone who brightens their environment through acts of kindness. They may be an astrologer or life counselor, but they could also serve as a nurse, a preschool teacher, or even a mechanic.
Embrace a life of integrity and you’ll be able to use your spiritual gift in a manner that best suits your individual interests. You don’t have to redesign your life or chart a different path. Want to be a writer? Great! Perhaps you could choose projects which are more uplifting or serve a cause while also being entertaining.
The boundaries of your gift are imaginary. Your gift is so much of who you are that you’ve probably been using it without realizing it since you were a child. Consider moments when you showcased the power of empathy and how that improved someone else’s life – that was when your spiritual gift was at work.
But a word of warning: it’s easy to get burned out from using your gift. Make sure to have plenty of recovery and self-care time if you’re actively using this in your daily life for a career or hobby.

Pile 2: Purple
Leading Others
Hello, my purple pile! The first card in your spread identifies your spiritual gift and that’s leadership. Your card, Priestess, has the wisdom message of “How are you being called to step up and lead?” The universe has given you a gift to give others guidance. This is a very special trait few people have.
But what does it mean to be a spiritual leader? This can come in a variety of different forms. If you’re an extrovert, you may want to be a speaker, a manager, or an in-person teacher. Introverts may prefer writing or one-on-one interactions. Don’t make the mistake of assuming leadership is only being in front of a lot of people.
A good illustration of this is mentorship. Some of the best mentors we have in our lives guided in a one-on-one capacity. In a sense, you’ll do the same: your goal is to spiritually touch on another person and help them grow, not stand on a stage and present.
Being Part of Something Bigger Than Yourself
Your tarot cards provide insight to help describe how to best use your spiritual gift. The Hierophant suggests you would do best in a traditional setting. Don’t try to overthink or be too creative in your approach. It’s okay to model your leadership on a path someone else has done before.
Do you see how the pope figure is attended by two clerics? You may find it helpful to work within a group or community. That’s because you’ll be inspired by your peers (or followers) and use their growth to help inform how you mentor others.
Don’t forget what this pope figure represents: a connection to the divine. No matter what you do, take your ultimate cues from the universe itself. You may be a leader, but the greatest spiritual teacher of all is the universe itself. For you, this may take the form of a god, spirit guides, or a philosophy.
Learn to Give Back
The last card in your spread provides a bit of warning. Here, the King of Pentacles, Reversed suggests not to fall into a materialist mindset. Although many televangelists likely began their path as spiritual leaders with the best of intentions, many of them transitioned into a business model that takes out the mentorships and replaces it with a product line.
It’s okay to make money as a spiritual leader, but remember the goal is spiritual instruction through a personal connection. This is much harder to do in situations with a lot of people or with a remote aspect (such as the televangelists). You stop looking at people as individuals and instead see them as customers.
It may be beneficial to do some aspect of your spiritual gift as an act of charity to keep your mindset right.

Pile 3: Green
Not Right Now
Hello, my green pile! The first card in your spread identifies an issue with your spiritual gifts. Align Your Life with the wisdom message of “What is not aligned or needs to change?” tells me that you’re not currently ready to embrace your spiritual gift.
Because of the rest of your spread, this could be because you have multiple gifts that you can use or because you’re still practicing one you’ve just discovered. Either way, you have an untapped spiritual gift that you can’t use right now.
That’s primarily because your current lifestyle isn’t conducive to implementing it effectively. Your spirit guides will try to steer you away from this gift for your own good.
While you can bully your way through, I think the better option is to look at what’s missing in your life and address that first. Some gifts don’t work as well in certain seasons or life situations – and that’s okay. Supernatural abilities can be dangerous if used inappropriately.
Simplifying Your Approach
The next two cards describe how to overcome your obstacles to using your spiritual gift. The first, Seven of Cups, Reversed, suggests you need to reduce your options. I sense that you’re considering too many things right now and you’re mind and soul are overwhelmed. Some of you may have even had a powerful spiritual awakening and are being confronted with too much.
That’s something to realize with spiritual gifts. Many tarot readers need to take a break between readings. It’s easy to become overwhelmed with messages and become confused about how to tell the difference between noise and truth.
Take a step back from what you’re doing spiritually and then try to take a minimalist approach with lots of self-care and rest at least temporarily. You’ll be surprised by the clarity of your spiritual experiences going forward.
Forging Your Own Path
Your last card is the Nine of Cups, Reversed. I sense that you’re not doing what you want spiritually. Are you following a certain path just because you were told or heard that it’s right? Even in very traditional religions like Christianity, there are ways that you can personalize your approach all the while respecting routine customs. Yes, a Christian may choose to attend church every week, but they may also want to listen to Christian rap music or perform acts of charity as their personal way of worship.
Consider what feels spiritually right to you. This can take experimentation, but you’ll be happy to let your interests guide you to the right path. This will also serve to provide the right opportunity to witness and practice the spiritual gifts you do have.
No matter your gift, we all use our gifts in ways that are unique to us. Your individuality is where you’ll learn to align your life and discover your spiritual gift.
