What People Say About You: Tarot Pick a Card
The people in your life can influence how you’re perceived by others. This can be a bad or good thing, depending on what they’re saying. With this tarot pick a card, you can find out what the most influential gossip is about you right now.
All you have to do is look at the piles of cards above. Which animal stands out to you the most? That’s your pile and that’s your tarot reading!
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
Today I’m using the Mystic Mondays Tarot and the Wild Unknown Spirit Animal Oracle decks (these are affiliate links that support me if you make a purchase). Remember that you have free will. That means you can manifest the positive and avoid the negative of any reading.
Now it’s time to spill the tea about you.
Pile 1: Otter
Passionate Energy
Your first card, Cheetah, has some interesting energy. This is a card of passion and brightness. People perceive that you’re able to work towards what you want with intensity.
However, this animal is also known for being less aggressive than other big cats. That means that your passion may not express itself in the traditional, extroverted way. Perhaps you’re an introvert yourself or more strategic in your approach.
Unfortunately, the Cheetah is also known for failure. No doubt the people around you notice your amazing successes (this is the fastest land animal on the planet), but are more than aware that your efforts are sometimes in vain. You’re really skilled in some areas, but lacking in others.
People aren’t sure you have what it takes to manifest your dreams in the long term even though most wish the best for you.
Sharp Blade of Strategy
The next card I see as you and the people around you. Here we have the Seven of Swords. This is a strategic card. The people around you perceive that you’re very strategic and perhaps a little unethical in your ways to achieve what you want.
Whether or not the previous is true, this causes you to have some enemies. Because people think you’re trying to get one over on them, they’ll try to get one over on you. If you’ve ever wondered why people seem unfair or antagonistic, that’s why: you’re a sneaky threat to them. Ironically, it’s others who are probably the sneaky threats!
Don’t be surprised if some of what people say about you are purposeful lies to sabotage your success. This may be why people think you won’t succeed in the long term. Either they believe karma will hit you hard or you’ll be the victim of someone else.
Spread Your Warmth
Your final card is the Queen of Swords. I see this card as both positive and negative. You are seen by others as rational and in charge of your emotions. You may not be king of the jungle like the other big cats, but you definitely have a lot of authority and skill.
However, this is a strategic card. This means people certainly see that your abilities favor you more than anyone else. People may talk among themselves that you’re self-interested. As this is modified by some creative energy, they may see that self-interest evident in your introverted nature or personal passions. Why are you so focused on your goals instead of social goals?
Now as this isn’t a reversal, people aren’t saying you’re evil or you’re trying to hurt others. What this all means is that people see you as self-interested. You can use this to your advantage. In areas where you care about others, let that passion shine through and never let someone you care for or respect feel like they’re just a means to an end.
Remember that how you’re perceived may not be the truth, so you may want to change that perception by sending some of your warmth their way.

Pile 2: Raccoon
A Great Worth to Many
Your first card is Hummingbird. People see that you’re a well of positivity and joy. That doesn’t mean you don’t have bad days or can’t be mean, but that, overall, people are happier when you’re around. There’s something about you that is rather radiant.
You may find that other people are attracted to you, both good and bad. For those unlucky to find themselves surrounded by questionable characters, you may find that they’re energy vampires or even abusive.
That’s because this creature is perceived as fragile. Although you may be quick-witted and a bit slippery at times, if you’re caught in someone’s web, there’s little you can do about that.
People are very aware that you can be easily taken advantage of. Those who care about you will try to ally to protect you while others will conspire to victimize you for their benefit.
Your Allies and Enemies
The second card is the Princess of Pentacles, Reversed. People are starting to think that your radiant energy is weakening. This is because they’ve likely discussed your fragility and victimization between themselves and know that they’re affecting you.
Be on the lookout for the people in your life who go out of their way to help you. These are the people that are trying to increase your personal radiance. They truly care about you. But others may be using this weakened energy to assert dominance over you.
Any expression of negativity or despair is likely to activate a person’s orientation towards you. Try sharing your feelings with those in your life and see how they respond. If they show interest, then they care, but if they dismiss you or “ask” you to do something for them, then you should begin to question if they’re really on your side.
You may also benefit by asking the people in your life what they think about those around you. Chances are that people are taking sides and you may not even be aware of it!
You Have Power
The third card in your spread is Ace of Cups. No matter whether the people in your life are for or against you, they don’t think you’re completely powerless. Yes, the Hummingbird energy is fragile, but that quick nature is your secret weapon. And it turns out that secret weapon isn’t so secret after all.
Whether any of these perceptions I’ve described in this reading are true to your character or not, it is how you’re perceived and you can use that to your advantage. Make quick decisions and respond promptly. This will disorient those who wish you ill and assure those who are concerned.
The truth is, no matter how fragile you’re perceived, nobody thinks you can’t take charge of your life if you truly wanted to. There’s no reason to let them think otherwise.

Pile 3: Sloth
Strong Character
Your first card is Horse. People think that you’re independent and free-willed. While this is normally a good thing, the rest of your spread suggests people perceive you as rebellious instead of free-spirited.
You’re not easily broken. People don’t know how to reach you and change your mind. You’re very certain of what you want or what you know you don’t know. This means people perceive that you’re a bit of a wall and may gossip that you’re stubborn and elusive.
As this card also has a moon on the creature’s forehead and fate features in that next spread, I do think that people see you as following your own moral code. This code may be in contrast to what other people are following.
Expect people to say you’re frustrating and difficult behind your back. But even though they think this, they seem to think you’re able to advocate for yourself and handle your own affairs. In other words, they don’t think their gossip is effective.
This could lead to people hurting your feelings and realizing it (or meaning to).
Alienated
No matter what your fate is, people seem to think you’ve rejected yours. The second card, The Star, Reversed, indicates that you don’t do what you’re expected to do. And because of the antagonism towards your independence, people will gossip that any failure or obstacle you face is evidence from the universe that you’re on the wrong path.
That’s why you may feel like people don’t understand your struggles. To some degree, they think you deserve them.
For the people who care about you, they’re merely flustered. While they want to show empathy, they don’t understand why you don’t “do the right thing.” As for those who don’t like you, they may be overjoyed by your struggles and gossip about them behind your back.
You may find it difficult to co-exist and operate with traditional structures and organizations. You may even feel like you’re cursed. That’s because people don’t think you play nice with others.
Remember: all these perceptions may not actually reflect your true self, but it is how you’re perceived. Whether you resonate with these perceptions or not, you are no doubt pained by how alien you feel in this world.
Someone Needs You
Your final card is the Ten of Wands. I see this card as a positive despite its challenging meaning. People think you’ve overburdened yourself with your independence. You’ve taken on too much and they don’t understand why you don’t do things the easy way.
However, I also sense that people are starting to admire what they perceive as tenacity. People see you as so independent, that you’re evidence of how things could be different. What successes you do have is a sign that things don’t have to be the way they are. People may not be able to change your mind, but you will change theirs.
Look for the people who admire you, even if it’s just parts of you, as these are the people who will empathize with your struggles and support you. I expect you may have a mentoring or peer relationship with someone in the future because of this.
