What People Expect Of You — Tarot Pick a Card
Have you ever wondered what people believe you’re able to do with your life?
Pick one of the piles above using your intuition to find out.
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
Remember that you have free will. That means you can manifest the positive and avoid the negative of any reading.
Now let’s see what people expect of you.
Pile 1: Dog

What They Expect
With your first card being Destiny, other people expect great things of you. The context of your spread suggests this perception is objectively correct: they’re picking up on a greater purpose for you to be in this life.
You’ve likely experienced family, teachers, bosses, and maybe even friends who had high expectations of your life goals and even your behavior.
That was a lot to expect from anyone, and I can imagine you felt overwhelmed at times. Likely you felt drawn to seek a higher purpose and make your life meaningful.
How That Fits Your Life
The second card, Authority, is a clear sign to be that you do have a destiny, and you’re meant to achieve something. However, the expectations of others may not have aligned with the destiny the universe meant for you.
This could have caused you to feel a great inner turmoil between what you “should” do and what you “want” to do. That confusion is because you assume your destiny is derived from the expectations of others.
But your destiny comes from a higher source: the universe, god, or whatever higher power you believe in.
Should You Accept or Reject This?
I think you should accept that you have a destiny, but I want you to reject the destiny other people have told you to pursue.
Unless it aligns with your wants, it’s not a match. A lot of people assume that your wants are unrelated to your purpose. However, your heart yearns for what you’re aligned to and the Triumph card is a sign that it’s glorious.
The difficulty, and the mission I’m sending you out on today, is figuring out how to align your wants with a productive and relevant expression in the world. That is how you manifest your destiny in a reasonable way.
Spend some time brainstorming on how you can do this. Make people happy or give back, but do so in a way that aligns with your heart.

Pile 2: Panda

What They Expect
It seems like the people in your life are worried that you’re struggling. You have potential, but the Temptation card is them believing you could fall victim to some sort of addiction or impulse.
That doesn’t necessarily mean it will happen, but you’ve probably felt as if people are less trustful of you lately. They may also show a lot of pity or not delegate tasks to you out of fear you can’t handle it.
If you aren’t aware of their perceptions, they may be trying to hide it in hopes you’ll get better if the problem is never addressed by them directly.
How That Fits Your Life
The interesting thing with the second card, Financial and Material Changes, is that their perception may not be true or you’re already in recovery.
What you’re seeing is your hard work rewarding you. That reward to them is perceived as a temptation you can’t handle.
Some who chose this pile may have in the past made a habit of succeeding and then falling apart because of the reward success brings.
But others may be falling victim to grab in the bucket mentality: the people around you hate seeing you succeed and project their own temptations when you manifest success.
Should You Accept or Reject This?
Your last card, Rejoice in Celebration, is a sign that you should reject the low expectations people have of you. Instead, seek out those who encourage your success, or if they have doubts, give you the dignity of proving them wrong and being happy for that correction.
The way people react to your success and challenges can warp your mind. You may need to spend less time with people who doubt you or force you to weather their toxic comments. You deserve cheerleaders, not opposition.
Let me know in the comments if you think people have doubted you too much in love. You can also just leave a 🐼 panda emoji to let me know the reading resonated.

Pile 3: Raccoon

What They Expect
There’s someone in your life who isn’t helping you out. They perceive that you’re Suffering in Silence, but nothing in the spread indicates they want to help you.
This is probably about a very specific person. Some may find that it’s about people in general. Either way, I get the distinct sense that someone in your life expects you to face a challenge very soon and they want that to happen.
Now you may be a bit stoic and independent, and that’s fine, but this card suggests that someone in your life isn’t letting you be yourself… they want to see you get hurt. Let’s change that.
How That Fits Your Life
There’s a good way to test the people in your life. If you are going through something difficult right now, you can use that, but if not, you can make up something like “a bad day” or “feeling sick” and let them know you need to talk about it soon.
The second card, Rest and Rejuvenate, is about you disappearing from view. People who care and know you’re suffering will do something to let you know they’re thinking of you. It might be a comment on Facebook, a text message, a call, or even a direct visit.
Extroverts are more likely to reach out this way, while introverts will respond when you reach out to them or when you come back from your respite and let them know your experience.
Should You Accept or Reject This?
The third card, Heartbreak and Loss, represents you going low contact or no contact with someone who is toxic. Pay attention to the way the extroverts reach out to you: do they say things that uplift you or show they empathize? They’re a keeper.
As for the introverts, they’ll respond slower, perhaps in a more withdrawn manner but not in an antagonistic way, when you reach out because you’re “ready to talk.”
But the toxic person? They’ll smile, seem gleeful, or even try to “one up” your suffering by competing with their own. You don’t feel seen, you feel used. This is the person who expects suffering from you and likely feeds off your misery. Cut them loose.
