Pile 1: Alpaca

Things Are Good
Right now, you’re doing everything right. The Four of Pentacles is a conservative and stable card. But it can come across as a bit boring or stifling. Maybe even a little greedy or that there’s not enough room in your life for someone or something else.
You’re feeling a desire or pressure to build out your life more. And that’s not wrong, but you may misunderstand that you’ve created a foundation that you shouldn’t topple, merely modify.
I think of content creators or writers who find a niche that really works for them: but then they get bored. Instead of reveling in their mastery, they try new things that don’t work out and they lose their previous audience.
That’s the risk you’re facing… and you may not even realize it.
Look At What You’re Good At First
The Fool, Reversed is a sign you’re thinking of doing something or you’re about to do something… and it’ll be a mistake. You’ll try something new, and it’ll be a poor fit.
I think you should do more or something newish, but take a good look at your current life.
Imagine someone who hates their job as a trash collector. They hate the manual labor and the smell. But this person really understands the neighborhood he works in and the needs of the community.
Instead of picking a random job from a random interest, he takes a good look at his inherent skills. That’s what you need to do: pivot, don’t start a new path.
Make a Good Investment
Any new path requires an investment of time (and sometimes money) to make it work. But randomly starting a new path will lead to the Seven of Pentacles, Reversed. You won’t manifest the goal you wanted.
Imagine the trash collector decides to use his experience providing a service to his neighbors to start a lawn mowing business. He’s done with physical labor, so he manages the administrative side and hires employees. He has a good idea what a good manual laborer is like versus a bad one.
Write down a list of your skills (or what’s working in your life) and then ask yourself how you can do that in a way that’s still exciting for you. Different, but still uses the same foundation applied in a different way.

Pile 2: Bird

You Deserve Your Hidden Desire
Someone else is the main character of your life. The Seven of Wands, Reversed shows me that you’ve let this happen due to a lack of confidence or a fear of being attacked.
You’re cocooning yourself into a private life. You might even be quite comfortable and everything is going “okay.”
But there’s some part of you that wants something more. You either want to be the center of attention or recognized for something you’ve done. You just don’t want to have to suffer or makes enemies to get there.
You’re Putting an Obstacle In Your Way
There’s a Queen of Wands, Reversed in your life… or at least someone you’re comparing yourself to (like a celebrity). They’re successful, and you’re not. And they’re either a bad person who steamrolls those who gets in their way… or you fear that could happen if you best a celebrity.
It makes sense. We often are surrounded by people who say rich people are evil, celebrities are stuck up, and bosses are oppressive. And sometimes this is true.
But when we always see people like this as categorically bad, we’re telling ourselves that success means we’ll become a bad person too.
You need to reprogram yourself to take value in being successful. That it’s a moral good. Otherwise, you’ll sabotage yourself.
Change Your Environment
There’s a term in Australia called Tall Poppy Syndrome. It’s a phrase Americans aren’t familiar with because of the risk-taking nature of the culture. But it’s the idea that no one can be a taller poppy than anyone else: everyone needs to be the same. Success is to be punished (or redistributed) because that creates fairness.
Yeah, no loud America would ever accept that. But the Three of Pentacles, Reversed does indicate you’re in an environment where tall poppy syndrome is taking place… even if you’re an American.
But, spoilers, there are successful people even in countries where tall poppy syndrome is rampant. The trick is to notice who in your life doesn’t support your success and detach them from you. You need to find other people who want more and aren’t threatened by peers who believe the same.
Let me know in the comments what’s something you’ve always wanted to do, but were afraid to. You can also just leave a 🐦 bird emoji to let me know the reading resonated.
Pile 3: Turtle

Time to Tend to Something
The Devil card tells me that you’re dealing with something difficult and it will gradually erode your happiness and success. However, the context of your spread could mean this thing is rather small, so you don’t think it’s important to address because your life in the moment is fine.
Think of the person who has an okay job, is in a loving marriage, and has a hobby. Sounds great, right? But that complacency, when paired with a destructive habit or situation, can cause problems don’t the road.
Imagine that same person constantly overeats to cope with their social anxiety. As the years go on, they’ll gain weight and suffer health consequences.
That’s what we need to address: the bad thing in your life that is building a growing consequence.
Focus on Change
I used to bite my nails. But, in January 2013, I decided to stop that habit and succeeded. Why? I paid attention to my motive for biting my nails: the desire to never have dirt under them (common in people with long nails) and I didn’t have ready access to nail clippers.
So I always made sure I had ready access to nail clippers with a nail cleaner attached. And instantly a lifetime bad habit disappeared. And it turned out I had beautiful nails underneath the stubs.
The Ten of Pentacles, Reversed is a sign that your bad habit is going to have tangible consequences, but those consequences are not immediate. Your current discomfort that causes you to continue your bad habit is immediate.
So what I want you to do is 1) ask yourself why you need to do this thing and 2) how you can address that issue in a healthier way.
Be Okay With Being Uncomfortable For Now
The Sun, Reversed is a temporary unhappiness. Addressing your bad habit or situation will not be comfortable. I personally hated the time it took to look down and carefully manicure my nails. But I persisted, and within a few weeks, I had a new habit.
Understand that overcoming your situation may take multiple attempts and a lot of introspection. Alcoholics and those quitting cigarettes often need group therapy, medication, and multiple attempts before they get it right.
If you don’t have the willpower to address it yet, pick a smaller bad habit that’s relatively inconsequential, like nail biting, and address that as practice.
This will build the discipline you need to improve your life.
Let me know in the comments what is one small (or big) thing you can change in your life. You can also just leave a 🐢 turtle emoji to let me know the reading resonated.
