Should You Wait or Move On: Tarot Pick a Card
Hello, my soul friends! Today I have a reading for those who are at a crossroads in their life and don’t know what to do next.
All you have to do is pick the pile that sticks out to you the most. Which animal inspires your intuition? That’s your pile and that’s your tarot reading.
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
Today I’m using the Enchanted Map Oracle deck (this is an affiliate link that supports me if you make a purchase). Remember that you have free will. That means you can manifest the positive and avoid the negative of any reading.
Now let’s find out what you should do next.
Pile 1: Dog
You Should Move On
With your first card being Movement, it’s clear that you should move on. However, take notice of the image on the card itself: the bird is carrying a whole world on its back.
Although you need to move on from whatever you’re dealing with right now instead of waiting around, it doesn’t seem like a “forget and move on” kind of situation.
If this is about a relationship, this could be a sign that you should change the situation you’re in. For example, someone who has been cheated on may not want to divorce their partner, but physically move from the situation itself if their partner is remorseful and wants to remove the temptation and start over.
As for a situation, this could be a sign that you need to move on, but be open to restarting or picking whatever it is up again.
Just because you’re moving on right now doesn’t mean you’re shutting the door on it forever.
Think and Feel Differently
The second card in your spread is Spirit of Place. When I say moving on, it’s primarily a mental or emotional shift. Even in the example of someone moving away with their partner after a cheating incident, the place isn’t the solution: it’s the spirit of being in a new place that inspires a change of heart within the partner.
Moving on isn’t about changing your circumstances, but about changing how you approach life altogether. I think this is why some of you are carrying the weight of the situation on your back. What you need is to be empowered in your life.
Right now, that’s not something you can do because you’re in a disadvantaged position. Waiting around just means remaining in a position of weakness.
Sometimes we’re trapped not because of our circumstances, but because of how we feel about those circumstances. For example, being poor is a mentality few escape from, but being broke is a temporary disadvantage that can be overcome.
You Can Succeed
The final card in your spread is Goblins. I think you’re going to move into a favorable situation. However, it’s not a perfect one. You’re going to face discouraging events and challenges.
When this happens, you’ll be tempted to regress either to your previous physical location or mentality. Don’t let this happen. You need to have inner resolve and strength so you can confront these challenges and beat them.
How do you do this? Everyone in this spread is likely to be different in this regard as there’s no card in your spread indicating how to overcome the challenges presented to you. But this spread is favorable, so it seems like you’ll be able to do it.
Think about how you succeeded in the past to carefully, and patiently, consider your next step before you react to any future challenges.

Pile 2: Giraffe
Move On By Making a Change
I favor the idea of moving on because of your first card, Making a Choice. However, there’s a nuance to this card that’s important to understand. Right now, you’re in analysis paralysis or you will be soon.
Because of this, you’ll want to delay an important decision for as long as possible. This would be the wrong strategy and I’d argue it’s not waiting on your end, but delaying on your end.
Humans tend to be satisfiers or maximizers. Satisfiers tend to be grateful for what they have, whereas maximizers want more, more, more. I think you’re falling into the second category at least for the topic of this reading.
When you delay a decision, you delay your life path. You freeze your progress in time. And sometimes, not making a decision is worse than making either choice at all.
That’s not to say one decision isn’t better than the other, but that delaying a decision is even worse. It’s time to push yourself to finally decide what you’ll do next.
Have Any Goal, Even an Imperfect One
Because of the next card, Rock Bottom, you’re either in that situation now or you will be soon. Your spread is interesting because this could indicate a few different things.
The first is that you may make the wrong decision and be at rock bottom. The second is that no decision is a good one anyway, but simply making a decision will help you take the next step: which is to live your life.
When you’re frozen in decision-making, you don’t tend to make progress in other areas of your life. Think of the high school graduate who doesn’t know what they want to do with their lives and they have an arrested development. They don’t move out of their childhood home and shift from job to job and major to major, never becoming truly independent and embracing a dream.
You’ve probably heard this saying before: “Shoot for the moon, if you miss, you’ll fall among the stars.” Sometimes having any goal will help you make progress in life. It’ll also get you used to improving your situation.
Imagine someone who doesn’t know what they want to do, but decides to have a backup plan of being a nurse: it’s okay if they change their mind later as they’ll likely earn enough in the first few years to pivot if they really wanted to into a different education path or career.
You Can Do Anything Now
More than anything, I think success will be infectious for you. The last card in your spread, Encouragement, foretells a future where you’ll be more optimistic about your life. In the near future, this doesn’t necessarily mean you’re going to make all the right decisions, but rather that you’re in the position to make decisions for yourself. You’re in control, not somebody else.
Once you know that you can do something well, anything well, you’ll have the confidence to tackle other goals in the far future too. This is going to broaden your horizon and improve your life.

Pile 3: Bear
Wait for a Sign
With the first card in your spread being Follow the Leader, it seems like waiting is the right call because you need a message from the universe first. This doesn’t mean your circumstances won’t change, but that you shouldn’t move on until there’s a clear path ahead for you.
In a relationship, this means waiting for the other person to do or say something that will signal what you should do next. They may likely call the shots or at least incite a reaction in you.
It’s likely to be frustrating waiting for a sign, so have patience and be vigilant. Some signs are obvious, but others are more subtle. If you think the sign you’re getting may be subtle, consider keeping a daily or weekly journal where you reflect on the situation until the message becomes clear to you.
Some may also find it beneficial to use divination or some sort of in-depth fortune-telling to help in this regard.
Be Safe
Be aware that waiting for a sign may lead you down a path you don’t like. Your second card, Dry Desert, indicates that the situation may leave something to be desired. This could mean they you won’t know what you want until you’re forced to confront your relationship or situation on challenging terms.
But this dry situation may have a happy ending. Some deserts have oases. Just be aware that an oasis is sometimes a mirage.
My advice for you is simple: when you go into a desert, you go with a lot of water. If you anticipate waiting for a sign or following a particular person or situation all the way through could be challenging, be sure to protect yourself.
This could mean something as simple as self-care, but it could also mean having a strong support system. Many women, for example, don’t go on a date with someone from online without telling a friend who they’re with and where they’re going. Actually… you should all do this (men and women)!
Take Back Power
The final card is Balancing Act. Although your spread indicates a passive nature going into this circumstance, know that you’re ultimately going to rebalance the scales to give you more control.
Waiting for you isn’t about giving up control, but stepping back and gathering evidence for the best manifestation of your life going forward.
Sometimes, waiting to act is the best way to make sure that when you do it, it will be effective. Your spread doesn’t indicate when to act, so it could be shortly after receiving a sign or a long time after.
Trust your intuition on this. When things get uncomfortable or you realize you have a different preference, advocate for yourself immediately. Waiting doesn’t mean being weak-willed or being someone who is walked on by others. You’re just biding your time to make the best choice possible for yourself.
Don’t rush into things right now.
