October 2023: Tarot Pick a Card
Hello, my soul friends! Today we’re going to find out what October 2023 has in store for you. This is the month of Halloween so there’s a lot of special supernatural energy out there to work with!
All you have to do is pick the pile that sticks out to you the most. Which image inspires your intuition? That’s your pile and your tarot reading.
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
Today I’m using the Crow Tarot and the Seasons of the Witch: Samhain Oracle decks (these are affiliate links that support me if you make a purchase). Remember that you have free will. That means you can manifest the positive and avoid the negative of any reading.
Now it’s time to uncover your October 2023!
Pile 1: Camera
Themes
You have a lot of supernatural energy this month, no doubt influenced by the Halloween season. Traditionally, people have viewed this time of the month as when the veil between the living and the dead is thinnest. People even used to visit the graves of loved ones the days after Halloween and still do in many countries.
The first card in your spread, Graveyard, has the wisdom message of “There is a song that bellows in the peace of knowing no end, in acknowledging the crossroads of eternity.” Be prepared for visits from spiritual beings or confronting karmic loops. You’ll be very aware that there’s more than just this life out there.
The second card in your spread, Broom, has the wisdom message of “What dreams may come from what you seek; make room, make way! A clearing need be.” Something in your life is going to depart this month to make room for something else you value. Accept that there are always transitions and new chapters in life.
The third card in your spread, All Hallow’s Eve, has the wisdom message of “Call upon the voices that stir your senses through the night. Cast an unforgiven howl as you stomp through the ground.” This is a sign to communicate with your spirit guides or any spirits you may encounter this month. There may be an important message you’re meant to hear.
Week 1: October 1st to October 8th
This is a good week to initiate something that matters to you. Here we have the Page of Swords and it indicates that you’ll have a lot of ambitious energy that can be put to good use.
I actually don’t see this in relation to the supernatural energy of the month, but on any current projects you have active in your normal life. Make use of this time because you’re going to see a lot of progress towards your goals.
This may also be the week that something leaves your life and is replaced with something new.
Week 2: October 9th to October 15th
Here we have the Temperance, Reversed card. I sense that you may feel the powerful weight of supernatural energy this week or you’ll feel the supernatural veil lifting much earlier than most.
This will be a good opportunity to touch base with your spirituality to rebalance things, or tap into powerful energies. Consider doing a longer meditation or spiritual ritual.
There’s a New Moon Solar Eclipse in Libra on the 14th and it seems tailor-made for you. Libra is specifically about balance! I was really excited when I looked this up and verified it for your reading.
Week 3: October 16th to October 22nd
You’re going to have a really good week. The Three of Cups indicates being emotionally upbeat, either from spending time with others or just enjoying yourself with creative hobbies.
In places that celebrate Halloween, there’s a good chance you may be invited to a party or some other seasonal event: go to it and enjoy your time there. It seems like it might be a lot of fun for you.
Those who are staying home should enjoy a good meal and relax.
Week 4: October 23rd to October 31st
The month ends with the Knight of Cups, Reversed card. I sense some unease here. While there’s a lot of spiritual energy at work in your spread this month, it’s not all good.
Make sure you’re not playing with dangerous occult practices you don’t know how to deal with. If you fear that there’s a malevolent spirit attached to you, then bless and cleanse your home.
However, some of you may just feel a little out of sorts. Catholics have a practice called “memento mori” where they meditate on the meaningfulness of life by exploring their mortality through spiritual practices, art, and visiting the graves of loved ones and saints.
It’s a bit too macabre for me to emulate myself, but if this feels appropriate to you it may be worthwhile to try. The less macabre among this pile may just end up watching a scary movie.
I loved reading for you! If it resonated, let me know. You can also leave a tip on ko-fi or book a private text reading and get 10% off until December 31 on my Etsy. It’s your last chance. After that, I’ll never offer them again!
Pile 2: Teapot
Themes
There’s a strong and happy manifesting energy in your spread this month. This will be a good time to make progress on something you care about or try to use the supernatural energy of the season to attract new manifestations.
Your first card is Elements with the wisdom message of “Remember to feel the warmth pulsing through her womb. You are a child of Mother; true harmony awaits you.” I’m reminded of The Magician card in tarot here and I see it as you harnessing the different gifts mother nature has given you. Your talents will be superpowered this month.
The second card is Potions and Spells with the wisdom message of “A pinch of this, a dash of that; be sure you’re sure before you call.” You’re going to have a lot of power this month to manifest, so make sure your mind is in the right place so you don’t manifest the negative thoughts you dwell on. Consider doing some affirmations or subliminals and investing in your self-care so your emotions are regulated.
The third card is Healer with the wisdom message of “Listen as the medicine bleeds through her teeth, a river of mercy blessed by Mother. Seen only by those who hold her mirror.” You can manifest a lot of personal healing this month If you put yourself into the natural world. Consider going outside for nature therapy with a walk or picnic. Those in the Northern Hemisphere may like to see the autumn foliage if there are trees like that in your area.
Week 1: October 1st to October 8th
You’re going to have immense power this week with The High Priestess card. To some degree, this power will be so subconscious within you that you may not even realize how much you’re manifesting.
Set an intention this week and review it each morning. This will help guide and guard your thoughts. Some of you may even benefit by writing it down and putting it in your pocket, wallet, or purse. Or perhaps behind your pillow.
Those who work from home or can do so may benefit by putting it in a place that you can see frequently.
Week 2: October 9th to October 15th
I see mind-body-spiritual alignment with the Three of Pentacles card this week. Feel free to try to manifest anything, but I think you’ll find that financial or material intentions will manifest best, especially if it’s in alignment with your higher purpose.
Consider working with others or your spirit guides on a project. You’ll be able to bounce ideas off each other and divide the work, making it a lot easier to manifest projects that are currently in motion.
Week 3: October 16th to October 22nd
Because of The High Priestess card earlier in your spread, I don’t see The Hierophant, Reversed as a negative this week. Instead, you’re going to break the rules, but in a beneficial way.
At times this may be confusing and even frustrating, but stay true to yourself. Experimenting and thinking outside the box is a wonderful way to manifest abundance by expanding what’s possible.
Just be aware that the people around you may think your approach is a bit unorthodox and not entirely trust it!
Week 4: October 23rd to October 31st
Your month ends with the Ten of Cups, a favorite card for many tarot readers. This is an emotional fulfillment. Because your spread is so strong on manifesting, I think you’ll achieve something amazing this month and feel very gratified by your efforts.
This could also be a sign that you’ll be spending time with loved ones. For people who celebrate Halloween or holidays around this week, you should have some amazing memories from these events. Enjoy this and let loose a little. You’ve earned it after working so hard this month.
Alternatively, this could be happy news for those thinking of expanding their family, increasing commitment in a relationship, or moving to a new house.
I loved reading for you! If it resonated, let me know. You can also leave a tip on ko-fi or book a private text reading and get 10% off until December 31 on my Etsy. It’s your last chance. After that, I’ll never offer them again!
Pile 3: Carriage
Themes
Judging by your spread, your month is really up in the air right now. It seems like you’re at a crossroads where you can either make this month really amazing or find that this month will be very disappointing. So let’s get into the details so you can find out how to manifest the positive.
The first card is Transformation with the wisdom message of “Like a thousand storms held in hands soft against the winds, there is change arising deep within.” It seems like your key to claiming a good month is accepting the necessity of personal transformation. You’re going to be given the opportunity to change something about yourself and you should take it.
The second card is Reflection with the wisdom message of “Be wary of things you believe to see with eyes wide shut, for they are mirrors of the mad and truths only spoken with a bleeding tongue.” Often personal transformation comes within, but yours must come from an external cue or stimulus. Look outside of yourself for triggers of inspiration. The universe will send you a message. Don’t try to make a change by only looking within. That’s not enough.
The third card is Grief with the wisdom message of “It is but a mere glimpse of nothingness hidden away deep within the chambers of your mourning, in the red clovers birthing lost illusion.” Refuse to ruminate this month so you don’t lose yourself. Focus on extroversion and less introspection. You’ll be stuck in a psychological loop.
An example of ruminating introspection is unhealthy identity-seeking. People will obsess over their MBTI type, what fashion style they are, personality quizzes, and et cetera. If you’re spending hours doing things like that and not acting on what you learn, you’re ruminating even if it seems “productive” at the time.
Week 1: October 1st to October 8th
You’re going to be faced with a decision this week according to the Two of Swords. You won’t know which to pick immediately as there may not be a clear, logical path forward.
It’s important you make the right choice and I’m willing to bet it’s choosing to reject internal transformation and accepting the external trigger you receive. Don’t dwell on this too much with introspection – trust your gut instinct. It might be the only way you won’t ruminate over it.
Week 2: October 9th to October 15th
The next card is Strength, Reversed. If you make the wrong decision, you’re going to be in a position of weakness. I think you’ll regret your decision and enter into a depressive period where you close yourself off from the world.
If you find yourself in this situation, get out of your room and house. Go outside. This will put you into a situation where you see more external triggers. When you’re in familiar environments, you often won’t focus on what’s around you since you’ve seen it all before. You’ll naturally introspect.
Homebound? Do something different, even if it’s watching a movie you’d never watch under normal circumstances or eating something new. Novelty is necessary this week.
Week 3: October 16th to October 22nd
I think no matter what, this week is likely to be a good one. Here we have the King of Swords. Whatever decision you make, I think you’re going to create a plan of action and have some initial success.
That said, if you made the wrong decision and chose an internal cue for internal transformation, your success will be temporary.
If you did make that mistake, change course this week. There’s still time and you’ll be able to make the most of your transition during this time.
Week 4: October 23rd to October 31st
Your month ends with the Six of Cups, Reversed card. This is about being stuck in the past or looking at the past with a negative mindset.
Again, it’s possible to avoid all the negative things this month, but I do feel like if you don’t go through a personal transformation triggered by something in your environment then you will set yourself up on a ruminating path that may last longer than October.
You’ll be depressed, at least temporarily, and engage in harmful thought patterns. If you’re feeling that way by the end of the month, consider talking with someone you trust or a therapist because you likely aren’t able to do it on your own anymore.
It’s okay if that happens. We’ve all been here and need help sometimes.
I loved reading for you! If it resonated, let me know. You can also leave a tip on ko-fi or book a private text reading and get 10% off until December 31 on my Etsy. It’s your last chance. After that, I’ll never offer them again!
Jeez are you in my head and like yes this is setting up October exactly on point for the fight of my life. My reading put me in a position to not panic, but understand that my internal war is not over. I am reaching for external triggers even before the harvest moon because I need transformation to occur. One may think this is hokey, but if you’re in tune with the universe, this makes sense as guidelines, traffic cones on my path so Thank You!!!
I’m wishing you the best and I believe you can take control of this month and make it better than expected, Sherry! 🙂
