Next Step in Your Career — Tarot Pick a Card
Hello, my soul friends! I have a psychic tarot reading today on what you can do soon to benefit you in your career. You can also use this reading for any passion or hobby you care about.
To receive your message from the universe, pick one of the piles above using your intuition.
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
For this reading, I’ve chosen the Enchanted Map Oracle deck. Remember that you have free will. That means you can manifest the positive and avoid the negative of any reading.
Now let’s see what you should be doing next in your career.
Pile 1: Mountain Peak

What You Need to Do
It’s clear from your spread that you need to start a long-term personal development program. This should be Education-related given the third card. It should also take longer than three months because of the Slow and Steady card.
However, this spread doesn’t indicate it has to be a major educational undertaking like university or a training program. The Solitude card suggests a personal project rather than spending years in the lifestyle of a student.
Now if you’re already considering university, then this is a confirmation, but for everyone else who chose this spread, it’s a personal project of study on something related to your career.
About Your Study Program
The length and breadth of your study program is entirely up to you, but the solitude card does suggest something self-paced. Even if you choose to follow a course, you’ll do best if you can spend long periods of time sifting through the material by yourself.
So even if you do go to university, you’ll likely gain the biggest benefit from independent study instead of class discussion, labs, or office hours with a professor.
The point, given the education card, is enlightenment and spiritual alignment. Here we see the symbolism of a fairy approaching a woman with some arcane knowledge.
You’re going to have a eureka moment during your independent study that will inform the way you conduct yourself in your career going forward. Your education isn’t just about technical skill, but about how to apply those skills in a specific and personal manner.
It’ll help you align with your higher purpose or the quests the universe is sending you on.
The Future
Anyone who wants to be truly successful in their field needs to be constantly learning. That’s one reason why people recommend doing a career that you love or at least tolerate. You’re going to learn new things, and those thoughts are going to be at the back of your mind throughout the day.
Something I had a lot of fun with when ChatGPT came out was designing courses or even entire fictional college degree programs around things like art, tarot, and so on. I’d then ask for a syllabus for each course and common books and resources that would work for that independent study.
Imagine, for example, that you were taking a course on “Spiritual Awakening.” ChatGPT gave me recommended books like The Untethered Soul and The Power of Now.
You may not want to use ChatGPT to help you craft a personal study program, but the idea is helpful for this illustration: whatever you want to learn, you can create an independent and self-paced study plan that will help you get there. And you can do this at any point in your career when you have the time and energy to do so.

Pile 2: Pocket Watch

Wait It Out
You’re at a pivotal point in your career that’s a Balancing Act. This is because there are Goblins at work: negative coworkers, peers, bosses, or clients. But there’s good news too – you’re on the precipice of a Field of Dreams.
This means your next step in your career is a shortcut to get even closer to a monumental and successful stage. However, you could be derailed by these goblins either due to their interference or feeling discouraged by them.
I imagine this has happened to a lot of creatives who were about to have their big break, but listened to criticism or doubts and decided to give up. You can’t give up – you’re very close to getting what you want. Right now you just need to survive.
What to Do
Note that I said survive, not prosper. This next step isn’t about doing the best work in your life, but about being patient and seeing things through. So don’t set impossibly high standards for yourself right now. It’s okay to take it easy.
The goblins will either lose interest or power over you when they realize you can’t be scared away. They like easy targets.
But ultimately, what you need is leverage. When I look at the balancing act card, I think of a scale that has equal measurements. Things only change when one of the sides has more weight than the other.
That’s your goal right now: slowly adding weight to your side of the balancing act and not being too concerned about the other.
That’s another aspect of wisdom in a career too. It’s pretty rare that your career is dependent on a single job or project. There are usually multiple opportunities you can transition to.
In America, there’s a known phenomenon that the people who switch jobs every few years earn more than those who stay at the same company. That’s because they’re using the leverage of their assets as a worker to entice a new employer to pay them even more than their last employer.
What Will Manifest
Due to the field of dreams card, it’s going to be what you desperately want or will soon change to want. And since this is a plural dreams card, multiple things are going to happen.
Sometimes we let ourselves lose faith in the manifestation of the career we dream of happening. Write down two to three things you want to manifest, even if it seems like a long shot. Either these exact things are going to come true or something that would make you almost as happy will.
You might want to read a memoir or watch an interview from someone in your career to learn what sort of crises they dealt with on their way to success. In such media, I almost always hear that things worked out better than expected, but they had to persist and not give up when things were really hard.
That’s your goal right now, your next step, persist. And success will come.

Pile 3: Alien Mushroom

It Begins
You’ve either recently acquired good luck or you will soon because of the Protecting Treasure card. This is also a sign that your next step is to leverage this good luck to build further success. Think of this good luck as the capital that will accrue interest.
To give a career instead of money example, imagine a graphic artist who lands their first client. That client results in a portfolio piece they can show to future prospects. That client may also mention the graphic artist on their website or to someone they know, leading to more sales.
Success tends to snowball from success. And when I say snowball, I mean it builds incrementally. The small treasure you get and need to protect may seem insignificant now, but it’s going to lead to incrementally better things.
Don’t see it as selling yourself short. Success has to begin somewhere. This is why a lot of business owners often frame the first dollar they earn.
There’s More to Work Than the Obvious
This particular step is going to require you to practice Listening. This listening will help you to pick apart your environment and use that knowledge to your advantage. The particular outcome of this advantage will be a Wishing Well.
What that means is that you don’t even know what treasure you can extract from your career. You might have a vague idea, but not a clear one.
We often see this in the careers that children, teenagers, and college students say they want to pursue. Yet they’re only aware of the most public jobs or those that have been romanticized in the media. They may not realize, for example, that an introverted person could translate their interest in medicine to research instead of patient-facing care.
So the lesson to take from this is not to limit your desires and dreams to what you know today. Instead, be open to the idea that there’s more out there you could reach for, and instead look at your current interests and research where they might be useful in the workplace.
Expand Your Mind
This thought exercise may be helpful to illustrate. Pick a trait or interest you have related to your career. Then, using either your mind or the internet, write at least one way that trait or interest could be used in a service capacity, teaching capacity, production capacity, management capacity, and research capacity.
Let’s say a person who picked this pile has the skill of cleaning. They might come up with a list of these skill capacities: cleaning people’s homes (service), educating people how to clean (teaching), a book on cleaning techniques (production), overseeing cleaning staff (management), and studying hoarders (research). Career possibilities are not linear. They expand into many different paths from a single point.
You may find it helpful to use ChatGPT for this if you need help.
The point of this thought exercise is to give yourself the awareness of multiple opportunities to use a skill you already have or value. You don’t need to reinvent the wheel or become someone you don’t feel comfortable with. You can already leverage what you have.
