March 2023: Tarot Pick a Card
The year is slowly plodding along and I hope that you’re making progress towards your dreams. Let’s find out how to approach the next month with tarot.
All you have to do is pick the pile that sticks out to you the most. Which crystal inspires your intuition? That’s your pile and your tarot reading.
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
Today I’m using the Everyday Witch and the Sacred Destiny decks (these are affiliate links that support me if you make a purchase). Remember that you have free will. That means you can manifest the positive and avoid the negative of any reading.
Now it’s time to peer into your future for March of 2023.
Pile 1: Howlite
Themes
Judging by your entire spread, you have a challenging month ahead of you. Now I don’t necessarily see that as a bad thing – it seems like the universe is trying to get you to understand things and is willing to throw lesson after lesson until you get it.
Your first theme card, Going Forward, represents the desire of the universe for you to make progress in your life. You may not feel great about that progress this month, but the card shows a brightly illuminated path. Your destination will be one of happiness and the journey won’t be as bad as you initially think.
The next theme card is Stillness. Sometimes when it comes to progress you need to stop and process what’s happening. Even if you’re going on a journey you still need to stop and look at a map. So this month will feel very still, but that’s just because you’re looking at your life map to make sure you’re going in the right direction.
Your third theme card is Truth. There is perhaps some illusion or misunderstanding in your life that needs to be corrected. You’re at risk of going in the wrong direction and this month is about making sure that doesn’t happen.
Week 1: March 1st to March 5th
I think the first week of the month you’re going to be overwhelmed. The Ten of Wands is about carrying a lot of burdens. Either you’re going to be given a heavy responsibility or you’re going to realize that you’re taking on way too much for you to handle.
Week 2: March 6th to March 12th
Your second week is the Knight of Swords, Reversed. This is a card of impulsiveness and I think you aren’t going to react well to the previous week.
Some of you are going to try and abandon all your responsibilities and just have an easy week. This may be necessary for you to slow down, just make sure you don’t let go of something that will be harder to catch up with later.
Others may react negatively to a lesson that the universe provides you and try to run away from it and thus blocking your realization of what you should be doing in life.
Week 3: March 13th to March 19th
The middle of the month is marked by the Ace of Pentacles, Reversed. This is really when things are going to slow down for you. Those who have too much on their plate may find that they can no longer start anything new even though they want to.
Others will see that their refusal to see the truth will cause barriers to be put up in their lives.
Week 4: March 20th to March 26th
The Eight of Pentacles, Reversed card is about careless work or not working at all. This is just a difficult energy to get anything done. Focus on not letting anything in your life get out of control. Resist the urge for perfectionism because that’s not going to be possible this week anyway.
Week 5: March 27th to March 31st
Your month ends with the Two of Wands, Reversed. This is a complex card because I see it as meaning you aren’t planning ahead… but also that you aren’t stuck in your head.
My advice for this month is to try and learn the lesson the universe is seeking to teach you. I think the universe will keep throwing challenges your way until you get it, so you can radically make your month more positive if you accept the lesson you were meant to learn early on.
Do that and your path forward is going to look way brighter than what these cards initially suggest.

Pile 2: Red Aventurine
Themes
You seem to have a storied month ahead of you. The word that comes to mind is catharsis: the relief of pent of emotions.
Your first card is Potential. There’s something locked inside of you that is trapped and this month is about recognizing what that potential is. You may already know what potential you have while others who chose this pile are hoping to discover it.
But this isn’t an abstract exploration. Your second card, Release, indicates that whatever potential is untapped will be manifested this month. That’s exciting because this catharsis will help you to feel more alive and more yourself than you were previously.
The third card in your spread is Adventure. It’s not enough for you to just see and release your potential… you’re going to carry it with you into the world. That means whatever potential you have is going to be applied to something in your life.
Someone who has the potential to sing, for example, might release that potential by practicing at home – and then later that month they’re able to sing in front of others at a karaoke bar. That’s what I’m talking about here. The adventure is the full manifestation and application of your potential in the world.
Week 1: March 1st to March 5th
I see that the first card in your spread is King of Cups. I think you’re going to have a heart-to-heart with yourself and really understand your worth. This will help you to see your potential in the world and positively uplift you.
Week 2: March 6th to March 12th
Here’s your call to adventure. This card, Judgement, is about being woken up and called to action. You’re going to find yourself inspired to try new things and see what you’re capable of.
Be aware that this is experimental energy. You may try things and it won’t work out and that’s okay. Have patience and understanding for yourself. Allow this experimentation to be fun. Try not to have too high a standard yet.
Week 3: March 13th to March 19th
Now your month turns to The Emperor, Reversed card. There’s this famous quote by Ira Glass that goes something like this: “All of us who do creative work, we get into it because we have good taste. But there is this gap. For the first couple years you make stuff, it’s just not that good. It’s trying to be good, it has potential, but it’s not. But your taste, the thing that got you into the game, is still killer. And your taste is why your work disappoints you. A lot of people never get past this phase, they quit.”
You’re going to be frustrated this week because you’ll realize the current limits of your potential. It’s a seed and it could be amazing, yet needs refinement and practice. Don’t look at this journey as a reason to quit if you enjoy it.
Likewise, you may have the potential for something but not enjoy it. Figure out which potentials matter for you to sacrifice effort towards. Not every sacrifice of time is worth it even if you can get better. Follow your desire and not just your potential.
Week 4: March 20th to March 26th
Now we have the Ace of Swords. This is an amazing card to have after the previous one because it’s you taking control of your life. While I think last week may have been discouraging, you’ll find yourself this week and start a new path where you learn more about your potential and start practicing it.
Week 5: March 27th to March 31st
Your last week ends with the Strength, Reversed card. I see this as a bit of a damper card and a warning from the universe not to expect huge growth with your potential right away. Practice takes time. I think you’re at risk of trying something, getting better, and then not being grateful for the progress you had.
Every step is amazing. It’s okay to appreciate your progress instead of just the destination.

Pile 3: Obsidian
Themes
This is a month of rest and self-care for you. But it’s not a month where nothing happens. Sometimes, a lot of things happen internally and that’s the case for you in March.
Your first theme card is Relaxation. This isn’t just self-care where you spend money on enhancements or where you try to improve your worth through enrichment activities. This is leisure. There’s no goal here but to just slow things down and enjoy the small things in life.
The next theme card is Patience. You’re going to want things to happen quickly, especially in the fourth week, but you need to take a deep breath. Literally. Even if you don’t meditate, consider doing meditation sessions this month.
For some of you, these will be long, while for others it’s taking a moment of out your day when you’re stressed to breathe in and out three times to calm yourself down.
Your final theme card is Security. I was especially drawn to the cave painting here. Hunter-Gatherers lived off the land and it could be a scary experience, but some still found time to make art. Know that even when things seem scarce there’s room for beauty and joy elsewhere in life. Find it and revel in it.
Week 1: March 1st to March 5th
With the Ten of Swords being your first card you may be worried. After all, this is a card of ruin. But this deck has a happier and more playful image. This tells me that even if something bad happens to you this week, it’s not going to ruin you.
You may be blinded and not on target – but you can use your intuition to make the most of life. Consider this a card of personal lessons. And for you? That’s to take a break.
Week 2: March 6th to March 12th
Your second week card is the Queen of Wands. I thought of pampering here and this is certainly the week to treat yourself like royalty. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself to achieve anything. Instead, enjoy the leisure and the good things in life.
What this will do is help heal from whatever disappointing aspect was within the previous week. Things are looking up for you. But first, it’s time to have fun. You’re a precious person so you should act like you’re valuable when dealing with yourself.
Week 3: March 13th to March 19th
Around the middle of the month, you’re going to be hit with the Death card. No, someone isn’t going to die. This is a card of transformation. Even though it may seem like nothing was changing in the background of your life, it was and things are going to look different for you. A part of you has to die so you can be reborn as someone new.
I think you weren’t able to change things in your life until you caught your breath. This is when you’ve caught your breath and things are starting to happen.
Week 4: March 20th to March 26th
Things are happening quickly now with the Eight of Wands card. This week may be exhausting for you, so make sure that you’re focused on what matters and let everything else be on pause. You’re going to need to flow with your transformation and let things happen.
But after that, use the rest of the time this week to relax and slow things down. Strongly consider doing a longer meditation this week to help with that.
Week 5: March 27th to March 31st
Your final card is an exciting one. Here you have the Three of Wands card which is one for travel or financial exchange. I see this as a good manifestation card too. This is a good week to try something new or plan for your future. There’s a lot of optimistic energy for you to work with.
