I Will Keep Writing Tarot Pick a Cards
Medium recently changed the way they paid writers. Because of this, I lost almost 70% of my income overnight. Writing tarot pick a cards is my job and this change meant I would need to look elsewhere for work.
However, my readers rallied in support and I received generous tips far beyond what I could have ever imagined. I also earned some income from private tarot readings, unexpected ad revenue on my blog due to a few viral tarot pick a cards, and of course the smaller sum from Medium.
This now means I can confidently continue writing tarot pick a cards for the next three to six months.
What I Earn Then and Now
You may have noticed I continued writing tarot pick a cards and published a near-normal amount. I also wrote a few articles. This was unexpected, but quite welcome, thanks to the support I received.
My behavior would have been quite different otherwise as I would’ve had to rely entirely on private tarot readings to make ends meet. Those take a lot of my time to do. Yet somehow I managed to do eighteen of those last month too – a record for me!
Before the change, my tarot pick a cards earned $100 to $200 and articles $10-$20 each. Now my tarot pick a cards earn about $20-$40 and articles earn around $5 each. My earnings went from $1800 a month to $600. Many full-time writers on Medium have also reported payment annihilation.
I generally only earn about $30-$100 on this blog. I do have a Ko-fi where I accept tips, but until now I never used my tips for anything but re-investing back into my tarot readings with decks, books, and office supplies.
Fortunately, I reside with family and in a low cost of living area. My monthly expenses are about $1,200 a month. So all the support I received is going further than it would for someone with dependents or in a place with a high cost of living.
An Unexpected Discovery
There’s another surprising element to my situation. I recently discovered that I was malnourished. I am one of the many people who switched from iodized salt to sea salt, resulting in a dangerous iodine deficiency that I was unaware of.
You’re at risk for this if you live inland, eat most of your food at home, and avoid dairy, bread, and seafood. All of which are true for me!
This seemed to be the primary cause of my extreme fatigue, brain fog, and inability to regulate body temperature. It may also be the origin of my recently diagnosed hypothyroidism. All told, working for more than a few hours a day consistently used to be impossible. Until now.
Although I still struggle to get enough iodine into my diet (yesterday I actually poured salt into my palm and ate it raw), the change has been unmistakable. I am now two and even three times more productive some days than I once was.
This makes me hopeful in pivoting my approach so I can make up the financial shortfall when my savings run out.
My Current Strategy
I’m certain I can write at least eight tarot pick a cards a month alongside private tarot readings if need be. Although I’m experimenting with other platforms such as YouTube, I’m going to try and see if I can write an additional four tarot pick a cards this month.
If I can, then this means I can start a Patreon. I’ll probably do polls so supporters can choose what type of tarot pick a cards they want to see and provide some additional bonuses once I can fit it into my schedule.
All this to say that things look hopeful over the next few months. Even though I don’t have a long-term solution yet, I have a way to get there, so I’m eager to continue sharing tarot pick a cards with you now and in the future!
I loved reading for you! If it resonated, let me know. You can also leave a tip on ko-fi or book a private text reading and get 10% off until December 31 on my Etsy. It’s your last chance. After that, I’ll never offer them again!
