February 2022: Tarot Pick a Card
Even though February is only twenty-eight days long, it brings Valentine’s and a reminder that love is powerful. But preparing for this short month can be tricky. Luckily, you can get a general idea of your month ahead and a week-by-week preview with this tarot pick a card.
It’s easy: all you have to do is look at the piles of cards above. Which one sticks out to you? That’s your pile and that’s your tarot reading!
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
Today I’m using the traditional Rider-Waite tarot deck (this is an affiliate link that supports me if you make a purchase). Remember that you have free will. That means you can manifest the positive and avoid the negative of any reading.
Personally, I like to use monthly tarot readings to get a general idea of the flow of my month and what I should be on the lookout for. This helps me to plan ahead.
Now let’s see what’s in store for you this February of 2022!
Pile 1: Blue Bear
Theme
Although your month is going to end on a happy note, it does appear as if you’ll find most of February challenging. That’s because of the Ten of Cups, Reversed bringing turmoil into your home. Expect your relationships with family to be strained or for frustrating issues with your house to surface.
Make sure that you spend some time with your loved ones that have no pressure. This could include something simple like dinner and a movie at home. Don’t want to get stressed out cooking and cleaning? Try ordering takeout or delivery.
Speaking of cleaning, don’t neglect your household duties. If something seems to be breaking down, fix it as soon as possible because the energy of this card suggests unexpected repairs may be needed.
But why all this frustration? Your second card, the Two of Swords, indicates you may be blind to your environment. I believe this is because you’re trying to make an important decision elsewhere in your life, such as work, and you don’t have the mental bandwidth to deal with small, domestic routines.
Week 1: February 1st to the 6th
Your month starts with the Seven of Wands, Reversed. I think you’re going to feel disempowered by the decision you’ll need to make. Some of you will have time to make a decision, but this will only cause you anxiety because you don’t know which decision to make. The rest may feel as if you have no power to decide at all, so it feels as if your ability to control your future is slipping away from you.
Take a deep breath. If you’re able to make a decision, research your options. If there is no clear winner, make a decision and commit to it – at least for a little while until you have enough experience or perspective.
If you can’t make a decision and feel like your world is falling apart, find at least one thing in your life, perhaps even cleaning your home, that you can control and direct your energy on that until another opportunity arises.
Week 2: February 7th to the 13th
I think your frustration will continue into the second week. Here your card is The Moon, Reversed. Just like the Two of Swords, you’re stuck between two or more options. Your situation is dwelling on you now and you’re wondering if you don’t have the full understanding of what’s going on.
That’s probably true. If this is a work problem, investigate by asking a trusted coworker or connecting with a community online to see what they think. If your problem can’t be better informed by communicating with others, you may need to research online or hit the books.
This is a week where you broaden your understanding and verify what you know and don’t know.
Week 3: February 14th to the 20th
Finally, things are looking up for you in the third week. Here you have the Page of Wands. The man here is in a desolate and barren desert landscape, but the pyramids in the background add a touch of whimsy and promise of adventure.
You’re going to feel optimistic and even daring. Be aware that “adventures” can have more risks than you anticipate, so you may stumble. However, if you spent the time last week broadening your perspective, you’ll go into this week with a proper map on how to live.
Week 4: February 21st to the 28th
Your last week ends on a very positive card. Here you have The Star. This is a card of wonder and divine power. I think you’ll find that the indecision earlier in the month was to help guide you on the right path. Not every decision can be made swiftly and without proper consideration. Sometimes decisions deserve your respect and effort in making them.
Energy will flow for you this week and you’ll feel very capable. That means you’ll be willing to do more for yourself and others. If you let your house go, you’ll likely feel inspired to clean it up, and if you had a confrontation with a loved one, you’ll patch things up.
Allow yourself to feel guided towards growth, and by the end of the month, you’ll feel exposed, but also triumphant.

Pile 2: Purple Bear
Theme
A lot is going on for you this month. Your second card, the Eight of Wands, promises action and a quick pace. Chances are, you’re going to feel like you don’t have as much rest as you need.
But take heart: see how idyllic the blue skies are? Even though a lot is going on for you, I think you’ll find it a positive. Sure, you’ll maybe have some misses and stressful situations, but everything that’s happening now is happening to improve your life – and you’ll see the results quickly too. This may just be one step to a greater future for some, while for others you’ll reach the final destination.
These clear skies also make an interesting pair with your first card, the Five of Swords. This is the “winner take all” card, and I think you’re going to be victorious. But do you see the clouds? I think at the beginning of the month, you’ll be uncertain. Maybe you’ll need to advocate for yourself in ways you haven’t before or you’ll need to cut ties with people who are making your life miserable.
Be aware that all this fast movement is clearing away those clouds for blue skies. Be firm and decisive – and direct in what you do this month. You don’t have time to waste.
Week 1: February 1st to the 6th
Your first week is going to feel momentous to you. That’s because your first card, Judgement, is calling you to action. You may not ease into the quick pace of this month, but sprint into a marathon.
Remember that “calling” aspect of this card. Pursue what’s meaningful to you and be prepared to drop less important things. I’m reminded of the Biblical passages that tell believers to always be prepared for Judgement Day, as they will not know when it comes.
Try to anticipate and plan for events in your future, including the bad scenarios, so you can react swiftly when they occur. That’s likely what is to happen this week.
Week 2: February 7th to the 13th
The next two weeks will be your weeks of challenge, even though the energy here isn’t as strong as the first. Your card, the Four of Cups, features a man refusing what he is being offered. I can’t sense if you will be offered something you should accept or shouldn’t, so this may be different for each of you.
Instead, be prepared to make the best decision at the moment and accept the consequences that follow. If the decision requires more thought, do so, but don’t waiver afterward. Chances are, you’re likely unhappy with what’s being offered for some reason. Figure out if that feeling should be honored or ignored.
Week 3: February 14th to the 20th
Your third week is represented by the Knight of Wands, Reversed. Again, your desire to “take” what’s yours is compromised this week. Despite everything that’s happening in your life, or perhaps because of it.
There is likely some aspect of your goals or ambitions that you’re not happy with and your passion isn’t there. I don’t necessarily think you need to make any big changes, but you do need to alter your approach or your perspective. What is it about your life that you’re unhappy with? Take some time to meditate on it.
I think this is what’s been preventing you from advocating for yourself in the past. You can’t support yourself if you don’t know why or how you should be supportive in the first place.
Week 4: February 21st to the 28th
You get your power back in the last week with the Knight of Cups card. When paired with the last, this card suggests emotional security and love for life. If you do the meditative work in the week previous, you’ll find yourself able to stand strong and face the world around you.
Use this energy to advocate for yourself and clear the skies in your life. I’m drawn to the winged helmet here, and I think you’re going to begin developing or pursuing high ideals for your life.
While I always think it’s important to be realistic, this doesn’t mean you can’t dream and explore those dreams in modest ways. Allow yourself to flow like water, taking you to new places and opportunities. Prepare for the worst, yes, but hope for the best – and work for it.
A good example would be this: let’s say you want to write a book. You should be prepared for that book not selling a single copy, but that doesn’t mean you can’t hope it will. What you need to do is set aside the time to write the book and research how to make it the best it can be.
And then, when you’re ready to let it out in the world, be emotionally prepared for things not going your way. Following your dreams is always a risk, but they’re risks you can take if you have a backup plan. Don’t make a living as a writer? Have a backup job and keep writing in your spare time. Maybe in the future you’ll succeed. Maybe you won’t.
But uncertainty doesn’t mean you shouldn’t follow your dreams. It just means having an optimistic, but resilient perspective.

Pile 3: Green Bear
Theme
Unlike the other piles, only one card was pulled for the theme of your month and that’s the Two of Cups, Reversed. This suggests you’ll feel a lack of unity or partnership. Because this is February and the month of Valentine’s, this may hit you very hard as you’re surrounded by images of companionship.
However, judging from the rest of your cards, this difficulty is only temporary.
But just because a tarot reading indicates a bad future doesn’t mean that will manifest. As soon as you’re aware of that future, you can begin to change it. And as this future is temporary, you can shorten its effect or stop it from occurring entirely.
Let’s find out how.
Week 1: February 1st to the 6th
Your first card is the Seven of Pentacles, Reversed. I think you’re going to discover something disappointing about a relationship or partnership you have. This is likely romantic, but for some of you, this could be a coworker, a family member, or even a friend.
You invested a lot of time and effort into this person, but something isn’t working out. The garden you made together simply isn’t flowering.
Although you may think your time was wasted, I don’t think that’s the right perspective here. Instead, take a look at what isn’t working out and think about it critically.
Is it something you did? Something they did? Or perhaps it’s neither of your faults and is the environment itself.
Determining the cause and its effect will go a long way in preventing it from happening again. You’ll also know how to alter your approach.
Try not to let yourself get too frustrated with this person for the first week of February. It may be tempting, but if you can avoid emotionally blowing up at them, you can use this week to figure out how to tackle the problem and “replant” your garden.
Week 2: February 7th to the 13th
The next card is the Five of Pentacles. See how the woman and the man are walking together in the cold? Times are hard, but they’re together.
It’s true they aren’t facing or leaning on each other, and in your reading, I think that suggests the distance you feel because of the disharmony you’ve discovered in your relationship. However, if you can figure out your common goal, whether it is to make a romantic relationship or business partnership work, then you can push through.
The reason you need to do this is that the card also offers hope. Do you see the stained glass window of the church? This is a symbol on the card that help is closer than it appears – and for you especially, good feelings.
No matter how upset you are, what you’re feeling is temporary. You will overcome it and come out on the better side.
If you don’t have a common goal, you can come up with a project. A creative or physical activity as a couple or a small business project with your coworker will give you a safe and constructive thing to work on together. Just make sure that you both know what’s expected of each other during this project and how you plan to help each other succeed.
Make sure that you both help each other during this project. It will bond you together in a way you need right now.
Week 3: February 14th to the 20th
In the third week, you’re going to feel as if you’re on the edge. That’s because of the Four of Swords, Reversed. When I saw this card, I was drawn to the imagery of the man almost falling on the sword. However, in this reading, he appears to brace himself.
You’re going to be very aware of what’s wrong in your relationship this week, but you’re not going to want to dwell on that thought. That’s because you’re also seeing evidence of the good.
See the stained glass window in the corner? Because of these two cards side by side, I sense you’re being enlightened on the true nature of your relationship and why it’s worth salvaging. But it will take work to fix. See what more work you can do this week.
Week 4: February 21st to the 28th
The last card is a sign of better times. Here you have the Six of Cups. It features two children in the safety of a town. Many consider this card one of nostalgia and first love.
You will be reminded why you love your person or care for your platonic relationship. You’ll have a more positive outlook on your connection and its potential.
I sense that you are symbolized by the girl in this card and your person is symbolized by the boy in red. You’re likely going to be offered or given a gift by this person. It may be material or it may be a kind word. For those in a romantic relationship, you may be receiving a belated Valentine’s gift.
Accept it graciously, because it’s going to be a sign they recognize what was wrong in the relationship and want to fix it too. You’ll need this affirmation because for many of you, the person you’re having difficulty with wasn’t yet ready to communicate their thoughts and feelings on the situation yet. They may still struggle, but they want to make it work too.
