Discover Your Past Lives: Tarot Pick a Card
Emotional patterns from our past lives leave an imprint on our souls. We try to work through those soul memories during our present lives. But sometimes, we become confused by this imprint and struggle to acknowledge our karma productively. This is where discovering your past lives comes in handy.
With this tarot pick a card, you can journey into the story of your soul. All you have to do is select one of the piles of cards above.
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile.
In this reading, I’m using the Rider-Waite tarot and the Work Your Light oracle decks (these are affiliate links that support my tarot reading). I’ll be asking the universe three questions: who you were in a past life, why that’s important to you now, and how you can improve your karma.
Now let’s find out the secrets of your soul.
Pile 1
Who You Were in a Past Life
Because of your first card, the Eight of Swords, Reversed, I sense that in one of your past lives, you had been imprisoned. This intense restriction bound a part of your soul and now you’re struggling with that legacy.
Interestingly, I don’t believe this past life imprisonment was lifelong. Rather, it appears as if you were put away unjustly for reasons even you didn’t understand even after your release.
This act of injustice was blind in the worst sort of way, and now your soul suffers the consequences. You spent the rest of your past life trying to understand what happened, but all that you could come up with was an uncertain answer. Your past self was unable to trust others, or themselves, after that.
Why It’s Important to You Now
We are more than just our souls, but also our bodies. When your past life was imprisoned, your soul also felt restrained. This caused emotional turmoil in your heart that has lasted until today. Your second card, the Knight of Cups, Reversed, speaks of those turbulent, inner emotions that now drive you.
What you want is your freedom, but even now you feel as if you’re a captive. It doesn’t matter even if you had all the freedom in the world, because your soul has taught your body that it’s a prisoner of its circumstances.
You’re driven to dream and reach beyond the scope of your life, but you don’t feel like it’s possible. That’s the mistrust and uncertainty from your past life bubbling to the surface of your present.
How You Can Improve Your Karma
Your final card is Starseed with the wisdom message of “What lights you up?” It’s very likely that one of your past lives, perhaps the one in which you were imprisoned, was that of an individual from another planet or star system. No wonder why you feel so restless here on Earth! You can feel the spatial boundaries of the world within your soul and want to move beyond them.
But the message here for how you can improve your karma is simple: you reincarnated in this life on this planet because of the physical restrictions you’ll face. You need to redirect your attention to your soul mission, whatever it may be, because that will give you a sense of growth through personal development.
Your perception of being restrained is an illusion of the past. You have far more control over your life than you think.
Pile 2
Who You Were in a Past Life
Court cards are often a direct description of a particular individual. In one of your past lives, you were like the Queen of Wands, Reversed. This would have been a mature person, likely a woman, and one who was known for her passion. However, your passion suffered from a violent burnout.
I believe your past self may have been creative, but the animals in your cards stick out to me so much that I must make a more spiritual and specific reading. In one of your past lives, you had a deep connection with a spirit animal. However, that connection was severed and it left you feeling as if part of your soul was lost too.
This spirit animal wasn’t just any connection, but one which was shared and passed down by your ancestors. That means you probably reincarnated at least a few times along your family. However, I believe your relationship was corrupted by a negative spirit or curse.
Why It’s Important to You Now
Your second card, The Star, Reversed, suggests this broken connection has hurt your spiritual growth – perhaps for lifetimes. You can feel the absence of this spirit animal, even if you don’t know it exactly, and that lonely energy has destructively attached to you.
You don’t feel as if you can make the right spiritual connections. Something crucial about your soul is missing.
Because this is a major arcana card known for renewal, I believe that this life is about reforging that connection. Perhaps you will reconnect with that same spirit animal or develop a relationship with a new one. Either way, recreating that connection will bring a passion and fire into your life that’s meant to be there, but is currently absent.
How You Can Improve Your Karma
The last card in your spread is Soul Family with the wisdom message of “Call in your tribe. You don’t have to do it alone.” There are a few different ways that I can read this card. The first is to call upon your ancestors and other spirit guides to help you reconnect with the spirit animal that’s missing on your team.
The other is that you already have made the reconnection, but you don’t yet recognize how important this particular spirit guide is. Your connection has historical, karmic consequences for your spiritual growth. You have a closer bond than most people and their spirit guides will ever have. It’s even possible that your spirit guide has manifested itself into an animal familiar.
By opening the lines of communication to your spirit animal, you will be able to work together to heal other wounds from your past lives.
Pile 3
Who You Were in a Past Life
You have such a cheery spread! This tells me the message you need to hear most about your past lives isn’t one of wounds, but of healing.
Judging by your Pleiades card and the King of Cups, I believe that in one of your past lives, you were a soul from another planet sent on a diplomatic mission to Earth. I believe you should research more into Starseeds, but to make it brief: your mission for quite a few lifetimes has been to care for others.
This can be done in a variety of ways, from healthcare to art, so don’t limit yourself. Rather, recognize the energy of the King of Cups: you have a pure, idealistic spirit that no one can subjugate.
Why It’s Important to You Now
Your second card is the Three of Cups. Here, I’m reminded of “Past, Present, and Future.” Your karma is developing a healthy pattern along the wheel of time. That’s not to say every one of your past lives was easy and that you have no wounds, but that your karma has been one of general celebration.
This gives you a lot of spiritual power to rely on. Don’t be afraid to look within and tap into your intuition even in situations that aren’t spiritual. Your gifts are ones that naturally cause you to share the best of your soul with others.
For you, life is about watering your own spirit well by watering others. When you give, you also receive. Don’t forget that because this positivity is one of the best ways to motivate you and allow you to live a life of abundance.
How You Can Improve Your Karma
I spoke before about how you’re a Starseed. This is indicated in your last card, Pleiades, with the wisdom message of “Double mission. Channeling and uplifting humanity.” A Pleiadean Starseed is a soul known for their compassionate energy.
This compassion can manifest in spiritual gifts of healing, such as reiki, but any lightwork is an appropriate path.
Despite all the love and light in your reading, it’s important to mention that your spiritual mission is not an easy one. You’ve probably felt overwhelmed by the negative energy of people around you, and that’s a sign of your empathy being in overdrive.
Make sure that you practice a lot of self-care so you have the energy to show your light to the world.
