Be Powerful in Your Career: Tarot Pick a Card
You can be at the top of whatever career or personal passion you want. If you were drawn to this reading then the universe has a message for you on how to accomplish that.
All you have to do is look at the piles of cards above. Which animal stands out to you the most? That’s your pile and that’s your tarot reading!
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
Here I’m using the Good Tarot and the Enchanted Map Oracle decks while the animals are from an Acekar Sticker Pack (these are affiliate links that support me if you make a purchase).
Remember that you have free will. That means you can manifest the positive and avoid the negative of any reading.
Now let’s figure out how to make you powerful in your career.
Pile 1: Kangaroo
Copy What’s Been Done Before
You have an interesting spread because it can be read in two ways, though I think for most of you it’s saying to Follow the Leader as in someone else… at least for now. That’s because vision is very important for success in your career and it can be easier to start by following the model of someone else’s accomplishments.
However, I can also interpret this as meaning creating your own vision that other people follow. While that is true for some of you, I think right now the majority who picked this pile would benefit from framing their career around a role model’s example.
That’s because success usually follows a formula. The true visionaries have something unique about them of course, but the foundation of that success is usually similar to those who came before.
You should ask yourself if you would do better right now in a traditional career with a good mentor or, if you’re working independently, how you should model your actions on someone else. Along the way, you’ll find out what different approaches you should take to set you apart.
Build Your Career Castle
The next card is the Ten of Earth. This is a card of legacy and building a culmination of wealth. You need to think long-term about your career for it to be a success. Now, this doesn’t mean planning every small detail out for the rest of your life, but you should have a clear goal that you’re aiming for.
A direction will help you to be more precise and permit fewer mistakes along the way. Think of how people invest for retirement here: they imagine what kind of lifestyle they would want in their later years and save up money or invest to build a nest egg.
The reality of that future may be a lot different than you intended, but creating that foundation gradually over time will allow you the room and ability to modify or even strengthen your long-term vision.
But back to business: companies that only think about the next quarter often fail to create products and services that will last. They’ll also take shortcuts that lead to the implosion of their companies. All they want is a quick return.
Your career is not about quick returns but a lasting profession that leaves a meaningful mark on the world.
Learn to Be You
The last card is the Seven of Swords which is a card of theft and strategy. However, I saw this card in your spread as one of following a strategic model.
At times you may feel as if this model isn’t who you truly are, but know that following a model lets you experiment within parameters that are easily understood. By trying something and learning what you don’t like about it you learn a lot about yourself.
So even if it’s uncomfortable at first, revel in that because it’s an important career lesson you need to learn about how you need to be different in what you do.
Because ultimately you will be unique in some dimension and that is what’s going to set you apart. But to know what that is you need to know how you’re similar to everyone else. Don’t reinvent the wheel: polish it and put on some fancy custom rims that show your style.

Pile 2: Toucan
Find What Matters
When it comes to being powerful in your career meticulousness is critical. Your first card is Details, Details and this indicates that something small is going to make or break your career.
Perhaps you work in a complex profession or there aren’t a lot of differences between your peers, so the small differences that do exist are what create your personal brand.
Being mindful of details isn’t easy, however. It’s not difficult to look at the forest for the trees but focus on the wrong plant. Simply being obsessed with details isn’t enough. You need to care about the right ones.
So know that this card isn’t telling you to be so Type A that you lose your mind but to find where your critical competencies lie.
There’s something called the Pareto Principle in which 20% of the work done will translate to 80% of your results. That means the rest of your default efforts don’t have the same return on your time investment.
What is it in your career that is most important? An artist, for example, may earn money from their commissions but unwittingly focus too much of their time on practice or advertising. This is why they end up struggling to make enough money.
The detail in their career they need to focus on isn’t how well they draw hands but making sure they get enough hours in on drawing commissions – even if that’s not the majority of their day! It’s the most important part of their day.
Success Will Be Too Much
Your next card is the Six of Fire. When you start paying attention to the details you’re going to see amazing returns. In fact, it might be overwhelming in a good way and your ego is going to be inflated by the attention.
But hey, sometimes you deserve to be proud of yourself and be the center of attention. Never feel guilty about what you earn.
That said popularity comes with a cost. People will start to expect more of you and make demands. They will feel entitled to your time. This will become increasingly unfair but you’re bound to let it happen because it’s going to be like a frog boiling in water – you won’t know it’s happening until it’s too late!
So what should you do? Consider having a weekly or monthly review of your tasks. Are you not getting your primary goals accomplished? If so, it’s time to say no even if it makes people unhappy.
Because when it comes down to it the fluff isn’t what made you successful in the first place and if all the extras you’re taking on aren’t providing the same returns at your original 20%… it’s time to start rejecting more than you’re accepting of new tasks.
Hold your head high. You deserve your success and you deserve to be choosy to make the success persistent.
Try New Things in Moderation
The third card in your spread is the Seven of Water. This is about having a lot of choices and opportunities, but not all of them are good for you. Do be aware that you’re going to try new things in your career and some of them are going to be amazing – but others are going to cause you to fall flat on your face.
This will be discouraging the first few times it happens as you’ll put in a lot of effort and time to get the details right, yet all your time will be wasted.
My recommendation is that you limit the amount of time you spend on new things. Don’t put too many eggs in any new basket before you know the likelihood of its success. Do this too often and you’ll be too scared to continue in your current career path.
But don’t be afraid to try new things – just take a moderate approach. You’ll love the abundance it brings you.

Pile 3: Chihuahua
Work for What You Want
The first card in your spread is Wishing Well. I think it’s important that you be a bit unrealistic and dreamy when it comes to pursuing your career. You may want something unusual or difficult to reach, so if you don’t let yourself work towards the “impossible” you’ll never be happy.
Think of the teenage musician who decides to pursue a pragmatic career as a lawyer. It doesn’t matter if he would be a good lawyer or not if that’s not what really moves him. Instead pursuing music and either having a good day job or being open to pivoting to something like being a music teacher would be the better option in the event of failure.
Yes, sometimes your wishes don’t come true but your wish is telling you something about what you would enjoy doing. Perhaps you really will succeed – or you’ll end up in a slightly different career you would also enjoy. Either way, it’s better to aim for what you want and see what happens than reject it before you even get started.
So ask yourself what it is that you want. Start working towards it unapologetically.
You’ll Shine Best Under Your Star
Your second card is the King of Water. Your career must be something you’re passionate about. That’s because you’re the type of person who would be more competent in a career you care about. It’s not enough for it to be a job for you – it needs to be a vocation.
When you pursue something you love your personality is going to manifest positively. You’ll be in more command of your emotional state and you’ll have better relationships with the people around you.
Imagine a person who wanted to be a writer but decided to give that up and being an English teacher… and they hate children! I can’t tell you how common this is in the education field and it sickens me. These teachers often make student lives miserable.
That’s what happens when you only pursue a career for monetary reasons: you become selfish and are willing to hurt others and see them as a number. After all, it’s just a job for you.
You wouldn’t be satisfied with a life like that. You want to wake up in the morning and love what you do and do it well!
If you’re already in a career like this – great! Make sure you aren’t compromising for financial reasons and end up in an unhappy situation because you pursue a project that makes a lot of money. You may not even realize yet how critical it is for you to love what you do.
Dreams Serve a Function
Your final card is the Three of Air. This is the heartbreak card and I think in pursuing some of your career wishes you’ll discover that it doesn’t work out. Sometimes this is because a dream just fails… and other times it’s because you find out you didn’t really want it in the first place.
This is normal and not something to be ashamed of. Instead, see any failure or realization you don’t like something as a soul lesson. This is the universe putting you onto a better path by shattering any illusions you had.
Not every child who dreams of being an astronaut continues wanting to be an astronaut as an adult. Similarly, not every musician learns they love being on stage. Some want to just produce music!
It can be difficult to plan your life. People don’t tend to be good judges of their own character and the future. For this reason, you’re bound to make mistakes or stumble. You’re also likely to pursue dreams just because you feel like they should be yours.
Life is an experiment and you’re going to learn things about yourself and your career each working day. Your power will come not from failure, but by learning you’re searching for the success you were always meant for.
But the only way to do that is to hold to your wishes and try to manifest them in the first place – no matter how unlikely they may be!
