Open Yourself to the Universe: Tarot Pick a Card
No matter your religious beliefs, you can get closer to the divine. This might be the universe, source, God, many gods, nature, or more. In this psychic tarot pick a card, I’ll help you establish or improve your current relationship so you can have true spiritual growth.
All you have to do is look at the piles of cards above. Which star sticks out to you the most? That’s your pile and that’s your tarot reading!
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
Today I’m using the Light Seer’s Tarot and the Starseed Oracle decks (these are affiliate links that support me if you make a purchase). Remember that you have free will. That means you can manifest the positive and avoid the negative of any reading.
Now it’s time to open yourself to the universe. At times you may feel a bit vulnerable, but that’s okay: the divine wants what’s best for you. You’re on the path to connection and healing.
Pile 1: Kissing Star
Life Has Been Hard
Because of your spread, I sense that there’s a little tension between you and the universe. Your first card, the Seven of Wands, indicates that you have to defend yourself a lot from the circumstances of your life.
This may have led you to feel like fate was unkind. And perhaps it was. The universe doesn’t seek to make you miserable, but to permit free will means intervention can’t always take place.
That said, this card is more peaceful than in other tarot decks. Here we see the woman peacefully meditating and bringing out her light. She has immense spiritual power. I sense that you’re doing your best with the cards you’ve been dealt and you’ve done an admirable job, all things considered.
Breaking Things Down
The next card in your spread, The Great Severing, has the wisdom message of “Mars energy. Anger. Conflict. Softening to love.” This is the narrative of your relationship to the universe right now and what it will evolve into the future.
You’re a bit angry about the events of your life and you’ve felt that you had to take more responsibility than was fair. At times, you’ve felt disconnected from your spirituality because you weren’t sure how it was even relevant to you.
But just as in your last card, you feel something deep within you. A gift, perhaps of intuition or another spiritual power, and you can’t deny that there’s something more out there.
Yet your openness to the idea has yet to truly soften your openness to forging a relationship. You may have forgone a childhood religion or don’t want to commit to any one practice, however organized or personal it could be. There’s a spiritual block there you don’t know how to overcome.
The reason this conflict exists is precisely what you need to tackle.
You’re Already Good Enough
Your last card is Double Mission with the wisdom message of “Lightworker Starseed. Serve the world by being you.” The reason you may have struggled with some aspects of your spirituality is that you’re presuming your spiritual identity is different from your actual identity.
Know that who you were in the past, who you are now, and who you are in the future are the same person. Yes, you’re at different parts of your personal and spiritual development, but your identity is the same.
Not recognizing this is why you feel disconnected spiritually. You don’t see how worthwhile your free will is to co-create your destiny with the universe. The challenges you’ve faced had permitted you choices you wouldn’t have had otherwise. The universe didn’t program you, the universe allowed you to create yourself.
Who you are today is the sum of your experiences and your mission is twofold: expand the consciousness of the world and expand the consciousness of yourself.

Pile 2: Shocked Star
You Can’t Have the Same Spirituality as Someone Else
Your first card is the Knight of Swords, Reversed. There’s something impulsive about your spiritual experience. It’s untethered and uncertain, though at times very passionate. This card features a raven (or crow), symbolizing wisdom, so I interpret this to mean you haven’t grasped the spiritual knowledge you need to feel comfortable with your relationship to the universe.
While it’s true some people have amazing and truly supernatural experiences, some have quieter and more subtle experiences with the spiritual realm (like me). When you hear stories about people’s experiences, you may feel jealous or that you’re doing something wrong because it’s not as “amazing.”
But perhaps the universe doesn’t think you’re ready or that such experiences would even be welcome. I for one would be very displeased if ghosts started hanging out in my house.
Remember that your spiritual experience doesn’t have to match someone else’s. Not knowing which approach is best for you seems to be why you’re blocked in the first place.
Be Ready to Challenge Yourself
The next card, Lifting the Veil, has the wisdom message of “Questioning everything. Anything unaligned must go.” Really take to heart your personality and preferences when it comes to spirituality. Are you more of an intellectual who prefers ritualistic practices? Study and meditation would perhaps be a better fit than the euphoria of ayahuasca or something like ghost hunting.
Religion is diverse, even within a religion and within a place of worship. No person in the same family with the same religious beliefs practices the same way. Whether or not you follow a traditional religion or your own practice, knowing that this is true will allow you to embrace your unique approach.
Even in a religion like Catholicism, there are numerous religious orders and personal devotional practices you can do to individualize the faith to you. Tolkien, a Catholic, wrote Lord of the Rings as a religious work.
Take direction from this diversity for your own practice no matter your spiritual beliefs.
However, there are commonalities. What practices are the most attractive to you? Pursue those and see how it feels to try them out. Resist the urge to categorize yourself under any labels. You will always have spiritual egocentricities which aren’t going to match what other people “like you” do.
Spirituality Must Be Personal
Your final card is Activated Earth with the wisdom message of “Power places. Ley lines. Trust where you’re led.” Here we see a Stonehenge-like structure, suggesting that your practices are mysterious to you right now, but fundamentally natural.
Opening yourself to the universe means adventuring within or out in the world. You should welcome discovery and channel your impulsive approach to spirituality to make new connections and satiate your curiosity.
There’s a lot for you to explore, but an answer does exist. When you finally open yourself to the universe, the path of personal spiritual awakening will be revealed to you. All spirituality eventually becomes a personal revelation, after all.

Pile 3: Happy Star
Lost In the Clouds
With the first card in your spread being Queen of Swords, I sense that a deep inner knowing is central to opening yourself to the universe. But this is paired with a lot of transformation too.
This is an interesting card because the inner knowing is paired with the heart, yet the heart isn’t considered with the same strength. That’s because you’re trying to internalize the truth into something that can be understood, but you may neglect its emotional resonance.
All the internalizing inverts the external realities of spirituality. Yes, it’s something that’s personally experienced, but it doesn’t only exist within you. See how the woman is staring out into the world? Her gaze is almost lazy as if she’s lost in thought. Even when perceiving the external world, she’s not really present.
I sense that’s happening to you. You’ve created a concrete idea of spirituality within that doesn’t reflect the needs of your heart or the reality of the world. Instead, you become lost in a world of ideas. And the ideas aren’t the experience.
Feeling Limited
Your second card is Weight of the World with the wisdom message of “Boundaries. Let it go. It’s not yours to carry.” Here I sense that despite living in the clouds, you’re carrying the concrete blocks of what you perceive to be life and spirituality with you.
Because these ideas aren’t truly personal, they’ve become burdens. You may look at spirituality in black or white, or at least how you can follow it, so it becomes a stressor to develop a relationship with the universe. What more will the universe ask of you? It’s too much, you think.
But that’s precisely the problem. You live in a world of ideas, not a world of relationships. Spirituality and your relationship with the universe is not a living thing, but an abstraction. While you may have thought not bending to the will of your heart was good, this objective perspective alienated your affection and the affections you could have received.
How can the universe know when you’ve had too much if you only look at like as burdens which must be accepted? You’re not a robot. You’re not a thing. You’re a person. It’s time to let go of what you mustn’t carry.
You have limits because you’re allowed to have limits. And those limits should be determined through your heart.
Prepare to Feel
Your final card, Cracked Open, has the wisdom message of “Rock bottom. Surrender to the alchemy of life.” It’s a reminder of the transformation you need to open yourself to the universe.
You need grounding. You need to fall back to the Earth and feel your body so you have proof your heart is beating. Allow your emotions to overcome you. Then, let the negative ones flow away and pursue the positive ones with enthusiasm. Don’t be neutral. Don’t be objective.
I think journaling would be helpful to you. Your goal should be to recount your past and infuse your emotional feelings about it on paper. You can do some quick notes at the end of the day or write personal essays – whatever you prefer. Don’t make arguments. Don’t comment on the world. Comment on yourself. There’s a difference, but you may not have realized it.
Right now, you should be the most interesting subject of your life. That’s how the universe will be able to crack through the shell you’ve created and make a relationship with the heart that lies within.
