Your Next Romantic Partner: Tarot Pick a Card
Are you ready to start dating again? This tarot pick a card will give a psychic glimpse into the future to see who this person will be so you can find them and get together sooner.
While I hope everyone will find their soulmate, this particular reading does not necessarily address that type of relationship. Rather, it takes a more immediate approach. Perhaps your next romantic partner is your soulmate. Perhaps they’ll be a temporary relationship. Either way, it can help to know what kind of experience you’ll have.
All you have to do is select the pile of cards above that sticks out to you the most. That’s your message from the universe.
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
Here I’m using the Rider-Waite tarot and the Work Your Light oracle decks. Remember that you have free will. That means you can manifest the positive and avoid the negative of any reading.
Now let’s see what kind of romantic partner to be on the lookout for.
Pile 1: Pink Candy
Someone Powerful
Wow, right away I see the major arcana card of The Emperor. This tells me your next romantic partner is likely someone in a position of power. Expect this person to either be wealthy or of an “upper class”.
But I don’t think this person is a braggart or loose with their privileges. The armor underneath The Emperor’s finery suggests someone who had to fight for what they have. It’s possible your next romantic partner is new money or they’ve fought to maintain their position in society.
The ram heads on the throne do suggest that your next romantic partner may be aggressive or at least forward. However, this is tempered by the stone, earthen nature of that throne. This person doesn’t do anything without thinking first, but when they do act, it’s powerful.
You may find yourself intimidated by them. But know that every Emperor traditionally has a consort who shares in that power and privilege. As long as this person isn’t already taken, you can have a rather equal relationship and even gain because of it.
Two of Pentacles, Reversed
The next card may be where you’ll be discouraged from pursuing a relationship with them. Here, the Two of Pentacles, Reversed indicates your next romantic partner is struggling with their responsibilities or money. This could be because of the economy, so this may be only temporary, but I can’t tell.
Remember not to go into a relationship for materialistic reasons. It can be a powerful attractive quality, but should not be the foundation of a romance. That’s because material wealth can be lost, and The Emperor himself as a tarot card must fight to protect what he has. Power is always precarious.
What you can do to help your next romantic partner is taking on some of their responsibilities. This should be fitting for your stage in the relationship. For example, early on I wouldn’t do more than just plan relaxing and fun dates. But, as the relationship progresses, you may want to do them a favor now and again.
Just remember that relationships are reciprocal. It’s not uncommon for someone to enter into a relationship with a powerful or wealthy person and find that the two of them are unequal. You may take on undue emotional labor and not receive the emotional support you need in turn. This is why you don’t want to hyperfocus on wealth: it’s not a sustainable basis for an equal, satisfying relationship for either of you.
How You’re Connected
Interestingly, your last card, Unbound, has the wisdom message of “Releasing soul patterns, contracts, and past lives.” There’s a lot of psychic noise here, which tells me those who chose this pile have different interpretations for this card. That means there’s an element of personal discernment you’ll need to have within the relationship.
For some of you, your next romantic partner is someone you had no connection to in your past life. That means you don’t have any unresolved karma related to them and you’re starting with a fresh slate.
For others, you do have a connection and your next romantic relationship is about letting go. Perhaps this person hurt you in a past life and this relationship is about spiritual healing. It’s also possible that you need to meet this person again and spiritually conclude your relationship, severing your connection forever.
Pay attention while dating to figure out which is the best option for you. I think you’ll feel it intuitively and it will be rather obvious three to six months in at the latest.

Pile 2: Orange Candy
The Path Ahead
The overall sense I have from your spread is “the straight and narrow path.” Your next romantic partner is part of an important spiritual journey you must go through to go and work through karma.
This is because of The Initiation card with the wisdom message of “Rite of passage. Crossing the threshold.” The entire world around you is dark and scary, but there’s a bright path forward that promises a bright future for you.
However, the journey won’t be easy and you won’t like everything about it. I think this holds true for your next romantic partner too: in them, you’ll learn what compromising in a relationship is really about. But, on the other hand, not having an unrealistic rosy view of your partner means you’ll have a better understanding of what love can and should be.
Plan to Succeed Together
The next card in your spread, the Page of Cups, Reversed, indicates your next romantic partner is a bit of a stick in the mud. They’re very predictable and don’t like surprises.
Don’t expect spontaneous gifts or dates. This person lives by the book. Perhaps they were a member of the military or they’re very interested in personal development and have a “Type A” personality.
Likely, they won’t be traditionally romantic and you may even have to act first in the relationship.
That said, someone this predictable can program themselves and you can cooperate to have a relationship you’ll both enjoy.
For instance, you may like flowers and your next romantic partner will pick you up a bouquet every week after work. You’ll also always know when you’re going to have an intimate moment and can plan ahead so you feel clean and ready to anticipate the time together.
If you’re someone who has been disappointed in love before or neglected, this is unlikely to occur with this person because you can plan together for relationship success. But only if you plan!
Discerning Your Compatibility
Your last card, the Three of Wands, Reversed, indicates your next romantic partner has a very narrow view of the world and narrow plans for their life. In this, I think your struggles will become manifest. Your spiritual journey has a single path and it’ll be up to you to determine if you share that path together.
For instance, if you and your next romantic partner don’t have the same life values, your relationship may not work. And if you want to see them do something different with their career or other life plans, you may be disappointed. They have a firm idea of what they want. While they may compromise in some areas, like you, they’re going to commit to their life purpose fully.
So as your relationship progresses, find out if you’re on the same road together. If not, what you’ll learn from this experience is what you need to compromise in a relationship to make it work – and what you won’t compromise!

Pile 3: Blue Candy
An Absent Partner
There’s some major contrast here. Your first card, The Chariot, indicates your next romantic partner is always on the move. But your other cards are more still.
I interpret this to mean that this relationship could be a temporary one if you and this person don’t agree on a lifestyle.
In particular, I sense a strong possibility that your next romantic partner is an active member of the military or has a job that takes them far away. They’re ambitious, and not about to change their lifestyle any time soon.
You’ll likely be attracted to them because of their strong and exciting personality. Understand this alone won’t be enough to make a relationship stick. Personality is not character.
Despite all that, I see the imagery of this card as indicating your next romantic partner always comes home. While they have these dreams, they know and value their home life too (it’s what The Chariot is fighting for). The only question is if their frequent absences are going to be something you can handle.
You Won’t Be Moving with Them
The next card, the Eight of Wands, Reversed, indicates a slow and stalled energy. I sense this as you. While your next romantic partner is always moving, you won’t be. At least not with them to the same places all the time.
I can interpret this as meaning that your next romantic partner is a hookup, but for some of you, this could mean setting up a home base for your person to return to. You’re going to want a place to call your own, not a series of hotel rooms or temporary housing placements.
You may also find your life upended every time they return home and leave, as the flurry of activity is a disruption from your normal routine. This will be exciting, but also potentially frustrating if you like things to be a certain way.
When dating this person, you’ll need to figure out how well the two of you can compromise on lifestyle to satisfy the other one without giving up your own needs. Make sure you spend extended time with each other, ideally multiple days, such as a long weekend, so you understand the compatibility of your two rhythms.
Connect Outside Yourself
The last card in your spread is Get Grounded with the wisdom message of “Empaths. Highly sensitives. Connect with nature.” From this, I sense you’ll find a lot of comfort in connecting with your local community or spiritual beliefs.
So often in this modern world, people see their significant others as the sole source of their life’s grounding. Because your next romantic partner will always be on the move, this won’t be something you have if you choose to stay in the relationship.
That means you need to find some sort of routine where you feel connected to something or someone other than yourselves. Christians and other traditional religions are particularly fortunate here as a built-in local community is usually easy to find and join. But this can be true for anyone.
Find out what is important to you and find a place nearby where you can frequently visit or participate. This should be at least once a month, but every week is even better. It doesn’t have to be social either: going to the park to meditate each week is also an option.
But whatever you pick, it must ground you and bring stillness or a sense of being to who you are. Otherwise, you’ll feel a loss in your next romantic partner rather than a gain.
