Your Hidden Ambition: Tarot Pick a Card
Hello, my soul friends! Today I have a reading about something you secretly want to achieve in life. This may be something you’re aware of but haven’t confessed to others you wanted or it may be something you don’t even realize that you want!
All you have to do is pick the pile that sticks out to you the most. Which animal inspires your intuition? That’s your pile and that’s your tarot reading.
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
Here I’m using the Sacred Rebel Oracle deck (this is an affiliate link that supports me if you make a purchase). Remember that you have free will. That means you can manifest the positive and avoid the negative of any reading.
Now let’s bring your hidden ambition into the light so you can finally manifest it!
Pile 1: Dog
Meant to Manifest Your Self-Expression
I can sense that you’re a creative person from this spread. For many who chose this pile, your creativity is the traditional sort of self-expression. However, creativity can also be novel thinking and applying that within a non-creative field like biology.
Your first card gives us a strong clue about how this creativity is meant to manifest. The Word Wants to Be Written indicates a few things. For the writers who chose this pile, this is a clear and definitive sign that your ideas desire to be manifested into the world by you.
But to fully understand the weight of this card we need to see what it means in another context. Traditionally, the “Word” in Western culture represents a message from the divine. In Christianity, this even takes physical form.
Your creativity was meant to have a tangible effect on the world – and it’s meant to help others either through direct service, inspiration, or even just entertainment. What you create is meant to find an audience or someone who will appreciate it and find it useful.
The reason it’s your hidden ambition is that you haven’t fully embraced this being part of your life’s calling. You were meant to create.
Embrace Who You Are
The second card in your spread informs us that you don’t need to work for your idea for it to be revealed. Here we have the What is Already With You card.
People often make the mistake of believing that there are only good ideas and bad ideas when writing a book. However, tropes or stock story ideas are prevalent and even expected in creative works. What defines the individuality and self-expression of the story is how that idea is executed.
You’re an individual and even if you think your idea has been done before, it’s never been done by you. Know that you’re going to take that idea and shape it using your personality to manifest something original.
But how do you embrace the personal side of your creativity? Everyone is a little bit eccentric or recognizes when something is strange. You want to appreciate that strangeness and then bridge the gap using creative tropes or some standard foundation your idea is based on to make the idea familiar to others.
Let’s say you want to be a therapist for dogs. You can use a dog training program as a foundation for your practice. But your individuality is recognizing that you love the beach – so you host as many dog therapy sessions beside the ocean and use related activities to comfort and treat troubled dogs.
Infuse your personality into what you do. If you aren’t sure how to approach this, write down a list of your traits and interests. You can also ask a friend or family member to do the same if you need confirmation. Then find the things on that list which can set your idea apart by incorporating that personal quality within it.
All writers know to write from life. A fantasy writer might use their experience as a sibling to craft compelling narratives wherein the protagonist has an important sibling relationship.
Who you are is valuable in how you create.
Keep Trying
That said, be aware your ideas will be a bit earth-shattering at first. Your third card, Shock of the New, indicates you may struggle to balance novelty and tropes. Making something new familiar, but interesting is tricky.
Artists have this problem all the time. They create something that isn’t appreciated until later or at all. It can be easy to get discouraged. But don’t be discouraged. You can always revisit the same idea in a new way. Frida Kahlo is the perfect example of self-portraiture made unique and personal each time she did it.
Bridging the gap will take practice. However, you’ll eventually succeed. Don’t take initial failure as an indication your idea isn’t good. Rather, you just need to tweak and refine it until it’s just right.

Pile 2: Raccoon
Proving Your Passions
There’s something you’re seeking and what you’re seeking is good. However, it’s hard for you to put words on what it is exactly because your hidden ambition is so reliant on how you feel about what you’re looking for.
Let’s get into the details. Your first card is Diving for Light. I can’t help but think of Scorpios here. Scorpios are known for being intense and that’s because they dive to the depths of whatever they’re interested in. Their passions define them and set them apart from “filthy casuals.”
But, jokes aside, you have a bit of Scorpio energy in your spread and it’s directed towards a passion to find good where others aren’t willing to see it exists.
Perhaps there’s a person, place, thing, job, or interest that others have written off. Something about it seems negative to most other people, but you see the potential.
Because of that, you have an edge other people don’t. Your heart and care for whatever this is will let you succeed where others have failed.
And this spread is the universe confirming that you’re right. It does have potential – and you’re going to be the one to prove that.
Trust Your Heart First
But what I’m talking about isn’t just about what other people are rejecting. I want you to really consider what the second card in your spread is saying here: What Do You Feel? Do you see how the woman is balancing two fruit as she looks at the world?
When I see this card, I see someone so concerned about what the world thinks they don’t realize they should be weighing their heart instead.
You’re an individual with preferences and distinct gifts. Your interests, more than what other people say or try to influence you to do, give insight into those preferences and distinct gifts.
For example, a parent may encourage their child to go to college. Rational advice. The child should consider it. However, that child may want to be an actor and can’t justify spending the best years of their youth acting for the stage in colleges instead of moving to Hollywood and trying to land roles in film or television.
Perhaps there could be a compromise in attending a college near a popular filming location or the child can do a quick vocational program to get certified and have backup employment while trying to land roles.
The point is that you can’t orient your entire life around what other people tell you to do. The rational path can assist, but it can’t determine your ambitions in this life.
If you need to, try writing down all your interests and abilities on a piece of paper. Then ask yourself – is your life oriented towards that or something else? If so you need to make a change.
Your Mind Isn’t Society’s Brain
Your last card is Behind the Mind, The Heart Beats. In traditional Western culture, we perceive ourselves as mind, body, and spirit. Do you see the problem already? We equate the modern conception of the mind not as our individual selves but as the rational expectations of society.
Because of this we separate our individual identities and attach them to groups or society at large. We let that larger group identity define ourselves and determine our future.
Traditional culture saw the heart as the source of our consciousness, not the brain. Yet modern culture seeks to separate the symbolic tie of the mind from the heart so you don’t see how the heart within the body is connected to your soul.
Your identity is not separate from you. Your mind is your heart. But society’s mind isn’t.
The lesson you should take away from this is that the thoughts that come from yourself reveal your true desires and your true individual consciousness. Your hidden ambition is recognizing your personal feelings are powerful and help you be assertive in having the life you design for yourself.

Pile 3: Hedgehog
Who You Are Now Matters
Your higher self is calling. The higher self is the immortal part of you connected to the divine that exists as itself no matter your reincarnation cycle. This spread indicates your higher self is wanting you to embrace your soul mission in this world. Your hidden ambition isn’t just a want – you need to do it!
The first card in your spread, What You Want, Wants You is a sign that your deepest desire reflects some aspect or the entirety of your life purpose. I hope you’re already on the way, but if not consider this permission from the universe that you have the right to pursue it.
Now this may take a form you don’t expect. For example, someone who wanted to be a professional athlete but is now in their thirties is unlikely to become an Olympic gymnast. Their life purpose may then manifest differently – perhaps as a coach, in some other support role, or in a sport that is possible for that age such as long-distance running or golf.
Notice the spiral pattern on this card. Your life purpose changes throughout your different lives and will change throughout your current life too. But there tends to be a similar quality to it. That’s why professional athletes who get older will transition into something related either in sports or in character. Your life purpose is really more of a feeling or energy than a distinct career path.
What you want, your hidden ambition, is just a reflection of your soul across infinity in this time. Reaching for it respects your present moment and increases mindfulness.
You Are the Gift
The next card is Pandora’s Gift. This refers to a famous myth in which the first woman is given a box and told not to open it. However, her curiosity compels her to do so and she accidentally unleashes misery in the world.
She quickly closes the box when all that remains inside is hope. Some people believe this means there is no hope in the world because it’s locked away since Pandora didn’t realize what was inside, but, like this card, others think Pandora eventually let hope out into the world too.
It’s not going to be easy to manifest your hidden ambition. However, this experience of life is meant to be a challenge. We have free will, and while that can cause problems and competition, it also allows us to expand what’s possible in the universe.
You’re the hope, Pandora’s Gift, to the universe. Despite all the challenges you’ll face and others will face, your life matters because your life purpose is a gift. It’s not something selfish you do to make yourself happy. It creates abundance in its own way and its own manner.
Your Soul Experience
The third card in the spread is In the World, Not of the World. See how the woman on this card appears liberated? We see her surrounded by fish and water – two things that symbolize spirituality. But there are many things the card could’ve used to symbolize spirituality and yet the artist chose things in the world.
Your hidden ambition is about recognizing you’re a soul having a human experience. That human experience is important and I hope it’s going to be fulfilling for you. But the lessons you face have divine consequences.
You may be tempted to view your life purpose and what you want for your life as singular and not mattering in the grand scheme of things. But we don’t live in a nihilistic universe: your choices matter and create a powerful karma that will affect your soul and the souls of others across lifetimes.
Your hidden ambition is a butterfly effect and I think it’s going to be a positive one. Whether you can see how that will change the world or not, trust that it will. If you pursue it with sincerity, you’ll decide not to hide it anymore and bring it into the light.
