What Your Dreams Mean: Tarot Pick a Card
Dreams are how you can receive messages from your soul. They’re either direct and clear messages or narratives based on cultural symbolism. Sometimes the meaning is obvious, but other times your dreams can be confusing.
That’s what this pick a card is for. If you felt an intuitive pull to this tarot reading, then your soul is trying to guide you to a message that will help you interpret your dreams. All you have to do is select one of the piles of cards above.
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
In this reading, I’m using the Everyday Tarot and the Moonology oracle decks (these are affiliate links that support my tarot reading). I’ll be asking the universe three questions: what is the story behind your dream, why that’s important, and what you’re being called to do.
Now let’s uncover the hidden meaning of your dreams.
Pile 1: Blue Feather
What is the Story Behind Your Dream
A strong undercurrent in your dream is perfectionism. According to the Eight of Pentacles, Reversed, you or a character in your dream is likely working hard to make an ideal version of something.
This can take a variety of forms. The more literal interpretation is actual work or craftsmanship. Perhaps someone in your dream is trying to create something with skill and their focus has manifested into something unhealthy.
Another way your dreams could be interpreted is that you’re having the same dream over and over again. In this case, your soul is trying to imprint a message into your subconscious.
Why That’s Important
I sense that your dream is a warning. Your second card, the Ten of Swords, has a message of ruin. Do you see how the man is lying prone on the ground with ten swords piercing his back? But I also want you to focus on the sun in the background: this is a sign of illumination. You can prevent disaster.
Whatever it is that you’re focused on in your dream is a warning from your soul to watch out. If you’re working hard on something to the point of your detriment, then the universe is telling you to stop. Do you have a project going on in your life which is taking a lot of your time?
But if you’re having the same dream over and over again, it might be time to keep a journal by your bed and write it down as soon as you wake up. There’s likely a small detail you keep missing. Most people start forgetting their dreams as soon as they wake up, so your soul may be giving you the same dream again and again to get a particular detail into your mind.
What You’re Being Called to Do
Your final card is the New Moon in Gemini with the wisdom message of “Communication is key.” But what sticks out to me here is the repetition: we see twins facing away from each other.
Geminis are known for being fast talkers who struggle to focus. They don’t tend to work on the same project for very long and go in a lot of different directions. Yet even so, they tend to be gifted communicators. They have a lot of experience in learning a variety of topics so they tend to be pretty witty conversationalists or communications specialists.
How is this relevant to you? Embrace the power of Gemini. You’re being called by your soul to do something different than you have previously. Whatever it is that’s the perfectionistic focus in your dream, see if you can identify what that is and how you can challenge that harmful repetition by doing something new.
Something positive will come out of doing things differently for you.
Pile 2: Gold Feather
What is the Story Behind Your Dream
The first card in your spread is the Eight of Wands, Reversed. Perhaps you normally have epic dreams with a lot of movement, but recently, you’ve found your dreams either boring or stale. Some may even describe it as stifling.
Look at the card here. The arrows appear to be falling back to Earth alongside the doves. It’s as if they hit a wall. Because this is a card of the suit of fire, you could interpret the symbol as some part of your inner passion dying.
Our dreams can reveal our emotional state, and it seems like your current state is one of depression or anxiety. Something has gone wrong when it shouldn’t have.
Why That’s Important
Here we see the card Six of Swords. Although this is a sad-looking card, it’s actually the story of a woman and her child leaving a bad situation as refugees. They are on a journey to a better future.
I sense that a lot of the turmoil you feel is real, but not as severe as you think. The truth is, you’re heading in the right direction. The reason your dreams have “stopped” and the fire has died is because you have had a massive shift in your life somewhere.
Just like the woman and her child, you are about to start something new. It’s scary and a little frightening because you aren’t sure what’s going to happen in the future. That’s the problem with possibility: sometimes we have no context for what comes along with it.
What You’re Being Called to Do
Your final card is the New Moon in Cancer with the wisdom message of “You and your loved ones are safe.” For those who chose this pile, there could be many different reasons why you feel blocked and emotionally sensitive right now. However, what your soul is trying to let you know is that you’re in a better position than you realize.
The reason why your dreams are “still” is that the universe wants you to stop and look around at what you have right now. Maybe you have a lot – maybe you just have yourself. But regardless, you have the power to make the most of the situation you are in to improve your life now.
Cancers tend to approach problems sideways. They don’t like facing things head-on because it can be a risk. But this can lead to them being way too defensive and not making progress.
Your soul wants you to know that you don’t have to be so defensive. The arrows in the Eight of Wands have fallen to Earth because you no longer need to fight. And like the refugee woman and her child, you’re in a better, safer position.
That means you can face something in your life directly without being combative about it. You can cooperate with someone new and not have to worry about being targeted or you can try a new hobby without the fear it will blow up in your face.
Pile 3: Pink Feather
What is the Story Behind Your Dream
With the Queen of Wands as your first card, I sense that there is something paranormal about your dreams. Don’t be alarmed – there’s nothing negative in your spread, so whatever paranormal or occult aspects of your dream exist, it’s not a dire warning message.
There are a few possibilities with this card. Any court card can be an indication of a particular person. The Queen of Wands is a fiery and determined individual. However, I’m more drawn to the spiritual aspects of the suit the card is in: fire. She’s a confident person who believes anything can happen.
I’m reminded of the Law of Attraction here. I think you’ve been trying to manifest something and have relied upon your spiritual power to do so, either consciously or unconsciously. Your soul is letting you know that this has largely been successful or will be successful soon.
Why That’s Important
The next card in your spread is the Knight of Pentacles. This is a card of hard work. Depending on where you are in your manifestation, you have either been presented with a fruitful opportunity by the universe to make the most of or you’ve already done the work and achieved what you set out to do.
But this card can be overwhelming. Anyone who has ever worked hard for a long time can find themselves exhausted and burned out.
What this means is that your soul wants to let you know that what you’re going to manifest will come at a cost. Not a deadly or dangerous cost, but one in which you will need to spiritually and physically recover from when it’s over.
What You’re Being Called to Do
The last card in your spread is the Balsamic Moon with the message of “A time for healing.” I see this card as providing the necessary context for your spread. If you’ve ever followed spiritual or witchy people on social media, you’ll notice that they are huge proponents of self-care.
The reason why is that using your spiritual power can be tiring. We don’t always think this because of the intangible aspects of spirituality, but rituals, prayer, and other religious acts can take their toll. Even more so if you’re using those tools to manifest something in the real world.
The Balsamic Moon is a period in the lunar cycle between the Last Quarter Moon and the New Moon. It’s a time to stop and rest in preparation for future projects. You’ve done a lot lately, and now you need to pull back from trying to manifest anything and take care of yourself.
What does this look like? Enjoy a bit of pampering. Take a bath, read, watch television, or do any other activity that rejuvenates your body. Only then will you be able to take the next step in your spiritual life or manifestation.
