What Happened in Your Past Life? — Tarot Pick a Card
Hello, my soul friends! I have a psychic tarot reading today on what happened in a past life. This is a great reading for those who are simply curious or who feel knowing about their past lives helps in this one.
To receive your message from the universe, pick one of the piles above using your intuition.
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
For this reading, I’ve used the Crow Tarot deck. The pile images come from a Refustar sticker pack. These are affiliate links and they help support me if you choose to make a purchase.
Remember that you have free will. That means you can manifest the positive and avoid the negative of any reading.
Now let’s find out what happened in your past life.
Pile 1: Flowers

Your Past Life
In your previous life, you lost everything. The Ten of Swords, Reversed is about avoiding complete ruin and starting over. But while you managed to start over, the King of Wands, Reversed does indicate that you never rose to the same height that you once had and felt really depressed about that. Or if you did rise to the same height, you still miss what (or who) you lost from before.
The life that followed was one in which Temperance, Reversed led to drowning out your sorrows in alcohol or some other addiction. You wanted more to replace your lost life. So this card does indicate some sort of excess or replacement of circumstances.
I believe that this life was a powerful lesson in gratitude, and it was something you had to wrestle with for many years before you came to understand what had happened.
Today’s Relevance
I believe you have an intense desire to make something of yourself. This is probably an echo from this lifetime, where you lost everything and wanted to rebuild. You may also be a bit of a perfectionist or anxious about the future.
That desire to be successful isn’t a bad thing and I think you resolved the karma of not recognizing gratitude. But the reason why this life is showing up in this reading now is the universe trying to get you to understand that when a door is permanently closed for you, another opens. You may be grateful for what you have now, but you don’t realize that more could be received if you also accept future potential.
The first card, Ten of Swords, Reversed, is about avoiding disaster and rebuilding. I believe your past life didn’t understand that their reduced life circumstances led to their salvation.
An example of how this could’ve manifested would be like the knight who breaks his leg and isn’t able to go off to war to find glory. But the knight is the only one from the band he would’ve went with that ultimately survived. Perhaps he became a landowner or a merchant.
The point being, when one door closes, another opens. A door is opening for you right now, but you may be focusing on the one that’s closed.
Applying the Wisdom
You’ve only hit a wall when you’re dead. As long as you’re still alive, you have options – even if they might be reduced options in some circumstances.
Don’t focus on what you can no longer have. Pay attention to what is going well or what could go well if you shifted your attention to that.
Perhaps your previous misfortunes were part of a grand plan or perhaps the universe is simply trying to make the most of your current situation. Either way, you have a path forward and it will be one you could be happy with.
Take some time to write down the pros and strengths of your current life. Then meditate or brainstorm what good options come from that. Maybe it’s something that excites you, or maybe it won’t – but note that they exist. Something on that list or related to your brainstorming is going to bring you happiness and fulfillment soon.
You just haven’t experienced the potential of that opportunity yet. But it is coming.

Pile 2: Wizard

Your Past Life
You have a conflict with an intuitive woman in your past. It’s quite possible due to the Queen of Cups, Reversed and The High Priestess, Reversed that this intuitive woman may have had immense spiritual powers.
I get the impression that this person made a negative prophecy or prediction about your life that should’ve come true. But, you were willful and patient. The Knight of Pentacles, the only upright card in your spread, is about working slowly and carefully towards success.
People can defy their destinies. It takes work, but people who are willful and constructive about their futures can change things for themselves. And that’s exactly what happened with your past life.
I don’t think this intuitive woman was happy that you defied your destiny. Until recently, a lot of the cultures we all came from saw fate as fixed. You likely caused this woman to feel powerless or lose the respect of the people who sought her out.
Although the success of this life is a clear sign that she never successfully cursed you, I do think she had a grudge against you that lasted the rest of her life and was imprinted on her soul.
Today’s Relevance
This woman became a soul tie and was reincarnated to encounter you again in this life. Her karma is that she’s supposed to come to terms that she can’t predict or control your future.
That means someone in your life, likely a woman, but she may not have reincarnated as one, makes assumptions or predictions about your future. She may be a family member, older friend, coworker, or a boss. Every time you defy her expectations and do better, she’s frustrated.
Knowing about your past life in this spread is about understanding that some of the weird connections in this incarnation are replaying karmic stories from the past. And sometimes, you don’t have to do anything. It’s that person’s karma to deal with.
Applying the Wisdom
Whoever this person is, they may be someone who loves you, but always seems to assume the worst. It could also be literally the worst person you know. Regardless, dealing with this person isn’t about confronting them – it’s about living your best life unapologetically.
Celebrate your successes and don’t be afraid to share them. Even if you offend or unsettle this person, it’s absolutely necessary that they confront their inability to want the best for you. They need to see that you’re doing well and learn to accept it.
I think we all sometimes try to meet the expectations others have for us. Even if our actual lives are drastically different, we’ll try and pretend that we are living out that expectation when dealing with certain people.
But not everyone deserves or benefits from a white lie. Sometimes it’s better to live your truth in front of them. It’s harder in the beginning, but it’s necessary for you to feel comfortable as yourself and for this person to get over their ego.

Pile 3: Cauldron

Your Past Life
You wanted something desperately in this past life and used magical means to try and get it. The Magician, Reversed indicates that this manifestation was initially a failure and that your wishes, the Nine of Cups, Reversed, went unfulfilled.
This resulted in you making a huge sacrifice with The Hanged Man. What you did required a major act on your part. This likely resulted in dark magic, an immigration across the world, or going into battle. Other possibilities exist, but those examples describe the length that those who chose this pile went to in their past life.
Because this card is upright, you were successful and got what you wanted – but at a terrible price.
Today’s Relevance
This past life is showing up in your reading today because it has an effect on you now. If you used dark magic, then the effects may have resulted in a generational curse either on your family, your soul, or your community.
If you immigrated, then it represents a recent immigration and you being reborn into that line in a new land. This goes with the idea that people often reincarnate into their own family lines, and you may have had reduced choices in your descendants because you were locked in a small immigrant enclave. This only applies if you’re a minority in your country in some way.
If you went to war or some other sacrifice, then you likely feel an unusual interest or guilt towards something in the past. Perhaps your ancestors owned slaves or you’re German, just as an example.
Whatever happened in that last life, you still feel pulled to the consequences of those actions now. It explains some of your current behaviors and thoughts.
Applying the Wisdom
One thing you always must remember about past lives is that you aren’t your past life. That life may have echoes on you individually or the world, but you can make a clean break from it if you would like – and that’s what the universe wants you to do.
We tend to manifest what we focus on, and I think some part of you is starting to feel drawn to this past life negativity and ruminate on it. This will lead you to make choices or accept spiritual influences on you that don’t have to take place.
Focus instead on what this life is meant to do individually. Your free will is what determines the narrative and events.
Because that’s exactly what happened in your past life. They weren’t focused on a previous past life, but on the life in front of them, and they acted in the way they did because they made choices.
Whatever you feel, small or big, wherever your thoughts tend to feel pulled towards, you can use your intention to free yourself from it.
