The Language of Your Soul: Tarot Pick a Card
If you were drawn to this reading, then your soul is speaking out. Most people have heard that everyone has a love language: the way they’re loved and are loved in the world. But did you know that you have a soul language too? It’s what helps you connect to the divine.
Want to find out yours? All you have to do is look at the piles of cards above. Which animal stands out to you the most? That’s your pile and that’s your tarot reading!
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
Today I’m using the Hanson-Roberts Tarot and the Wild Unknown Animal Spirit Oracle decks while the animals are from an Acekar sticker pack (these are affiliate links that support me if you make a purchase).
Remember that you have free will. That means you can manifest the positive and avoid the negative of any reading.
Now let’s uncover the language of your soul.
Pile 1: Dog
Powerful Soul
With your first card being Butterfly, it’s clear that you’re a spiritual person. Butterflies are often used as spiritual symbols because of their radical life cycle of transformation. You’re the kind of person who has intense dark nights of the soul. These are difficult, but revealing metamorphoses.
That said, Butterflies are rather fragile – especially when they’re in the process of transformation. You need to be very considerate of how spiritually perceptive you are to avoid unnecessary pain.
While you may think this is only in relation to spirituality, those with a strong spiritual sense often are empathetic or ambitious. This makes them very reactive to their environment and strongly affected by their relationships and the world around them.
Even though you have the power to transform, you need moderation too. If every day of your life is a dark night of the soul because of how intensely your experience things… you may become exhausted!
And no wonder. A dark night of the soul can be a disturbing experience. Most people are afraid of change or advanced knowledge of self – you may be too – but you’re certainly willing to take it on anyway!
Ponder to Use Wisdom
Your next card, Five of Swords, indicates some conflict, yet one in which you emerge victorious. I sense that you’re either clever or very discerning. This makes a battle of wits with you a losing proposition: you tend to be in the right.
This is a fortunate quality about you from my perspective because of how spiritually sensitive you are. It would be easy for others to take advantage of you because you’d have a constant need to cocoon away and mentally digest what you experienced.
But your collective wisdom builds over time and gives you mental resources to rely upon. If this isn’t something you’re used to using, then that’s because you’re reacting too quickly to things that happen to you or escaping to process them.
When something happens, take a deep breath and allow your mind to wander. If you think before you react then you’ll find that your wisdom may have the appropriate response. You’ve had a lot of transformations and that’s a lot of experience to rely upon in life.
Rollercoaster Soul
The final card in your spread is Wheel of Fortune. This is a good card, but it comes with a caveat. Many fortunate things will happen to you in life, but they will happen in phases. Think of it like dopamine: when something good happens, you rejoice, but afterward, the luster of that fortune fades away and you don’t feel the same sense of euphoria.
This may be tied to your dark nights of the soul. You’ll emerge from your cocoon exhilarated after what you learned and how to proceed in life. But after some time, this awareness becomes integrated into your soul and isn’t as exciting anymore.
You not only transform often… you like doing it. Be aware of your desire to transform because it will encourage you to pursue things in life that will excite you and scare you at the same time. But all the best things are like that anyway and you were born for the best things in life.

Pile 2: Dinosaur
You Need a Spiritual Getaway
You have a lot of spiritual potential that is still untapped. Your first card, Golden Egg, is echoed symbolically in the illustrations on the other two cards. See how the window in the second card and the sun in the third both appear like golden eggs?
The Golden Egg references something undiscovered within you. That can only be tended to and truly understood when you step away from modern life and pursue contemplative practices, such as yoga or meditation.
It seems as if your soul is somewhat separate from your physical experience. It’s there, but its true depths are a bit esoteric and ascended. To truly understand and connect with your spirituality, you need to silence the distractions of the world.
That doesn’t mean becoming a monk or that material wonders are bad, but that connecting at a soul level requires being untethered from everyday concerns. Only then can you crack open that egg.
Allow Yourself to Be Amazed
The next card is Five of Pentacles. This is a card of poverty, but in your case, it’s referencing spiritual poverty. You’re so concerned with the material world that you’re not tending to your spiritual needs. As an Earth sign myself, I’m especially guilty of this.
But don’t go against your personality to connect with the divine. Many Earth signs prefer tangible spiritual practices like grounding or herbalism. In short, don’t abandon or change who you are, but consider what interests you have and see if there are any spiritual equivalents to that.
The experience of spirituality is one of awe. When do you feel awe at a transcendent level? That is when you aren’t focusing on mundane spiritual concerns but are thinking of something bigger. For some this is traditional spiritual practices like meditation (which you should try at least once), being out in nature, or being inspired by an amazing person.
Simply put, the key to understanding your soul is closer than you think. Yes, try meditation, but if that particular contemplative practice doesn’t work, there’s something else you can try instead by analyzing when you feel amazed in your own life. In that moment is when you’ll connect with your soul and begin to understand what the message of your golden egg within you is.
It’s Too Noisy
Your third card is The Sun, Reversed. I do think you aren’t as connected to your spirituality as you could be. For some of you, it may mean that you’re spiritually blocked, you haven’t had the amazing spiritual awakening everyone else seems to have, or you’ve become complacent with your spiritual growth.
What the universe wants you to know is that you can be more connected to the divine than you are currently. The blockage you’re experiencing now is only temporary and you will be illuminated soon.
But just as the Golden Egg card recommends retreating into solitude, I think this card suggests you need to find awe in private. The universe doesn’t want to shout at you – it wants to whisper.
The message meant for you is a gentle, subtle one. To appreciate that small wonder requires being in a headspace where whispers can happen without being crowded out by noise.

Pile 3: Dolphin
A Balancing Act
You have an interesting soul! The first card in your spread is Sea Serpent. There’s a lot of raw energy within your soul which can make you very powerful at a spiritual level. But it’s so much that it can be overwhelming!
Those who aren’t spiritual may find themselves channeling this energy into problem-solving or creative acts. You may also do this and be spiritual too – in which case, your soul is constantly striving for balance but struggling to do so because of how much energy is present in your life.
The language of your soul requires you to find and maintain this balance. It’s not easy and you’ve likely found yourself frustrated because you can’t use your spiritual or personal talents as effectively as you know you’d be able to if you just cracked the code.
Think of it a bit like working out: the more you get used to balancing your energy, the easier it will be to maintain it.
You may find certain spiritual practices such as meditations and rituals to be very effective. However, anything which is intentional and mindful, like exercise or a creative hobby, would help you reach a balance in your soul.
Commit to the Divine
The next two cards discuss what it’ll be like when you’re balanced and unbalanced. The first is The Lovers and this highlights what a balanced life would look like for you.
Some who choose this pile may benefit from a life partner, such as a spouse, business partner, or friend. This person is your other half and compliments and challenges you in all the right ways. If you have this type of person in your life or you would like to, rejoice in that it will also help you balance the chaotic energy of your soul.
Just be aware that you’d likely be expected to return the favor. You can’t just take – you must participate in the relationship. Love as much as you’re loved back.
But this card doesn’t have to refer to a relationship. It can instead be a soul commitment. See how the angel protects the couple from above? I see this as the relationship between Heaven and Earth. You need a strong balance between the mundane and the divine in your life.
Perhaps not an equal amount of time spent, but any spiritual practices you pursue should guide your life in some way. It should be how you aim and orient yourself in the world.
Don’t break away from your higher purpose and fall into temptation. Fight your base desires and do what is “holy” and inspired by your intuition and not your animal instinct.
Don’t Divide Your Attention
The last card is Two of Pentacles, Reversed. You’ll know you’re out of balance if you feel overwhelmed by the material world. You’re probably taking on too many projects. That’s because you’re trying to channel the energy of your soul outward, but it’s not refined and directed in a meaningful way.
Use your sense of exhaustion as a guide for how well (or not) you’re channeling your Sea Serpent Energy. If you’re doing too many things that is a sign you’re spiritually unbalanced too.
