The Energy Around You: Tarot Pick a Card
Did you know that there’s a lot of spiritual energy surrounding you? This energy can come from a lot of sources – the divine, supernatural entities, and the energy that people give off nearby.
If you were drawn to this tarot reading, then the universe thinks you could benefit from knowing what energy is around you right now.
All you have to do is look at the piles of cards above. Which animal stands out to you the most? That’s your pile and that’s your tarot reading!
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
Today I’m using the Mystic Mondays Tarot and the Psychic Energy Oracle decks (these are affiliate links that support me if you make a purchase). Remember that you have free will. That means you can manifest the positive and avoid the negative of any reading.
Now let’s find what energy is at work in your life.
Pile 1: Chick
Reflective Energy
Your first card is Magician and the Mirror. Right now, you have a strong relationship with the universe. Your energy will be reflected in your environment.
This effect is commonly called the Law of Attraction. We all vibrate at a certain frequency. Positive emotions have higher vibrations and negative emotions have lower vibrations. The vibration you give off attracts similar energy.
This is always true, but right now, it’s even more acute and stronger than normal. This means good or bad, how you feel is going to have a massive effect on what manifests in your life.
That means you should take the time out of your day to try and adjust your feelings through mindful practices. Affirmations, scripting, and guided meditations are good spiritual treatments if you feel like you need assistance in raising your vibration.
Focus on What’s Important
The second card in your spread is The Hierophant. This is a card of organization and tradition. In this deck, we see it symbolized by a pyramid and an all-seeing eye. I see this as the universe looking over you and everything around you.
Now is the appropriate time to ensure your foundations are strong. Go back to basics, whether it’s simple habits, spiritual grounding practices, or whatever you consider to be the foundation for your life. If you attend to that area, it will provide the first layer of positive vibrations that all other vibrations in your life will build on.
Don’t focus too much on “all the things” but on the things which provide the most significant effects. The Pareto Principle is a good illustration of this: eighty percent of the effect is from twenty percent of the effort. What is the most consequential area of your life? That’s where you need to focus more of your energy first.
Generally speaking, it’s advised that you do this area of your life when you have the most energy. This is usually before lunch for morning larks and in the evening for night owls.
Be Reasonable
Your final card is the Nine of Cups, Reversed. This is a sign that your dreams have limits. Although it’s helpful to be optimistic and act like you can achieve anything you dare to imagine… there are rational limits. You can’t, for example, become the King or Queen of the United States, but you could become a member of Congress or run for president.
Understand where your dreams can manifest in a way that doesn’t break the “laws” of reality. Here let’s think of the Law of Attraction again. Yes, you can manifest amazing things with this practice, but what’s attracted to you is not only something that matches your current energy but is also something that can reasonably manifest.
Dream big, but make sure those dreams are rationally achievable.

Pile 2: Penguin
Toxic Masculinity
Woah, there’s a lot of negative energy around you! The first card is Hostilities. Because of the rest of your spread, the exact hostile nature may be varied for everyone who chose this pile. But, needless to say, this hostility is having a tangible effect on your life.
That’s because I sense quite a lot of negative masculine energy at work. This could be a person with masculine energy, but masculinity is often attributed to universal forces and systems.
Either way, this expression of masculine power is not fatherly or that of a just ruler, but a savage barbarian seeking to raid and benefit off your suffering. So if you’re having a hard time in some area of your life right now, it’s not you, it’s “them.”
But how do you handle this energy? Let’s take an example from history. Barbarians ravaged Rome and were able to weaken the empire because it was divided amongst itself. Vikings eventually floundered in Medieval Europe because Christianity created a strong, central system.
You need your own organized system to counteract this hostile energy in your life. But wait: you may be tempted to create a masculine system. Not so.
Integrate the Feminine
The next card is the Five of Pentacles. Here we see a woman living in poverty on the outside. This is a card of loss and isolation. Yet help is closer than you think and this card usually indicates some integration of spirituality or community support.
I can’t help but think of Marian devotion here in the Catholic church. Even though that branch of Christianity can seem only masculine to non-Christians, Catholicism does attempt to integrate the feminine into ritual practices. The universe wants you to do the same. Not necessarily in a Catholic way, but rather to look at the organizing principles of your life and integrate feminine energy into it.
Here also I’m reminded of the story of Beauty and the Beast. Femininity can soften the monstrous edge of masculinity. And that’s because too much of either femininity or masculinity is toxic. The reason the masculine energy around you is so negative is that there’s simply too much of it. You’re overwhelmed and oppressed.
So figure out ways you can integrate the divine feminine, especially through rituals or habits. Finding ways to nurture yourself, others, or your hearth and home is ideal. You can also commune with nature.
Build Your Empire
Your third card is The Empress. Whether you’re a man or a woman, you need more feminine energy in your life right now and you need it to guide you. That’s because this nurturing energy will help generate and grow a personal empire that will overtake the barbarism you’re currently facing.
This requires work and patience. Masculine energy is acute and attempts to make things happen quickly. But feminine energy is more subtle and incremental. Make investments in your life now to reap their rewards later.

Pile 3: Dog
Things are Slowing Down
It seems like there’s not a lot of movement in your life right now. Your first card is Journey, Reversed. You’re facing obstacles and are likely feeling a bit stifled.
Your spread is a bit mixed. You’re probably tempted to view this stalemate negatively. And indeed, such stillness can be a disadvantage.
However, when things slow down you often have the chance to take another look and pinpoint an area of your life to give more attention.
Right now you’re at a fork in the road when it comes to life. You could take one of the forks on faith and make a random decision that you’ll commit to… but why? You can use this obstacle to regroup instead of relying on random chance for things to improve.
Allow your mind to roam. Research. Make plans. Perhaps you could even look into simple or slow living and try that for a while to see how a slower pace can be an advantage to increase personal fulfillment.
Time for Change
Your second card is Justice, Reversed. While your spread ends on a final, more positive card, the middle card is sharper in its energy. When I see Justice, Reversed I think of two possibilities.
The first is that you’re the victim of a harsh and unfair judgment. After all, life can be cruel sometimes and it’s not always easy to anticipate and prevent misfortune. That means the stalemate in your life can feel a bit like a hostage situation.
But the second possibility is that you were negligent or acted in a way that caused you to deserve harsh judgment. Perhaps you said something to someone and hurt their feelings or you didn’t take care of your car and it broke down. Judgment in that case can be deserved and painful.
Either way, you need to understand that judgments are not eternal. You can either choose to accept the sentence of stalemate or pursue spiritual reformation. But understand that reformations always require a change. You can’t go on living as you are. A major change must happen.
Become Yourself, Not Another
The last card in your spread is the most positive and indicates that things will look up for you. Here we have the Queen of Wands. This is a card about embracing your inner fire and letting it shine out into the world. She’s also considered a bit witchy and reliant on spiritual allies.
How much of your life and your journey was decided for you? Did that even work out for you in the end? No, it didn’t.
Perhaps the two forks in the road are a sign that you’re heading in the completely wrong direction and you need to go back and look for a new journey entirely. You’re the only one on it after all, so you might as well choose the journey you take.
Now is the time to create a vision for yourself and pursue it. Independence is your aim. Kindle your fire. You may need to go out into the wilderness and confront your inner demons to do so.
