Step Into the Spotlight — Tarot Pick a Card
Is there some part of you that desires fame or recognition for what you’ve done? If so, this tarot pick a card is meant for you.
To receive your message from the universe, pick one of the piles above using your intuition.
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
For this reading, I’ve used the Golden Art Nouveau Tarot deck. This is an affiliate link, and it helps support me if you love the deck and want to buy it for yourself too.
Remember that you have free will. That means you can manifest the positive and avoid the negative of any reading.
Now let’s see how you’re meant to step into the spotlight.
Pile 1: Flower

Compete For Victory
It’s time for a happy, but relatively dramatic change. The Five of Swords is a sign you’re destined to make a major win… so enter into any competitive event or activity where there is a clear winner at the end. You don’t need a major award or prize, but there should be a clear indication that someone did the best.
The reason why you’re called to do this is that this win will bring an opportunity for you. That opportunity is a steppingstone for greater things. It may not be directly related.
So it’s okay if this competitive event is simple, like a project at work or even something easier like starting a hobby with a competitive or creative flair.
The point is that you have a goal, you reach it, and then it’s clear you were the best of your peers.
Check In With Your Heart
But it doesn’t stop there. The second card, Six of Swords, is a logical next step and moving on in your life. Whatever you do isn’t going to be lifelong, so don’t try to overcommit or feel like you’ll be locked into something forever.
This is a card about leaving behind as much as it’s about moving, so there’s some element of this whole situation that will require detachment.
It could be psychological. Maybe you’re leaving your fears or lack of self-worth. Or it could be bigger, like getting a promotion, moving to a new location, or starting something new. I do sense open-endedness here, so it’s possible there are multiple opportunities, and you get to pick your preference.
Just know that picking one thing means you’re saying no to something else. So focus on your values, not just short-term victory.
Take a Change
Be prepared for your life to be upended. That’s scary. The Four of Pentacles, Reversed card can be unsettling if you enjoy things being predictable and safe. You may also have to spend money.
Here’s a good example: moving away from home to go to college. Most students, even in countries with free tuition, need to take out loans for living expenses if they want to have more free time to study and pursue leisure. Many colleges are in urban areas or areas with high rent, after all.
Most college students do ultimately pay back their loans, so it’s a worthwhile investment… but it’s a scary decision.
Look toward any major change in your life as an investment. Consider if the current give is worth the later sacrifice. It might be. If not, make an investment elsewhere in some other form.
But your life is going to look different. It’s going to operate in a novel way. That’s necessary to make room for your opportunity and help you reach the spotlight you deserve.

Success Could Be Yours
You got the best card in this deck for this reading, so that’s a promising sign. The first card, The Fool, is taking an optimistic step to trade risk for reward. That’s the entire summation of stepping into the spotlight.
There’s no guarantee that fame or renown will lead to amazing things. After all, some people end up becoming notorious instead of loved or they develop a bad reputation and try to be forgotten to compensate.
But the odds are in your favor that you’ll manifest a good outcome to stepping into the spotlight. Just be aware of any warnings along the way. See the white dog warning the Fool of the cliff he’s about to step off? Pay attention to any signs or advice you’re given and then check it against a secondary source.
Robert Downey Jr. had a substance disorder and was slowly dropping into irrelevance. He was warned to change his ways if he wanted to succeed, and he did, eventually landing his role as Iron Man which changed his career and the entire cinema industry with Marvel. But most actors? They don’t listen. And they suffer.
Some Practical Advice
What’s interesting is that the King of Pentacles card could indicate two people: the person who warns you and saves you and you. I think this advice may come from someone in the field you’re trying to gain renown. This advice may come as general advice they give in books, or it could be something they tell you directly.
People who succeed often succeed because they avoided the common pitfalls of the industry. Leo Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina had a relevant opening line: “All happy families are alike; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.”
There are a lot of ways to fail, but most people only focus on how to succeed and that’s either luck or a specific pathway. Consider doing a research project in the field you want renown in and compiling a list of all the common ways people end up failing. Internalize that list as your warning of what to avoid.
This is how you become the master.
Make Sure You Love What You Do
The last card in your spread is the Ace of Wands, Reversed. Something you need to pay special attention to is the desire for fame over interest. This usually occurs when someone focuses entirely on the outcome and not the normal process involved in attaining and maintaining that.
It’s not unusual for people to pick careers or projects based solely on their desire for recognition. But they may end up down a path they don’t care about. This often occurs with high prestige professions like law or creative ones like becoming an author.
A person may not enjoy learning and dealing with the legal system or actually hate the attention to detail that writing a novel requires. But the idea of being known for either is so enticing that they push themselves to work for it… only to be unhappy.
I’m reading a book right now called The Mountain Is You by Brianna Wiest (affiliate link) and one thing she wrote has really stood out to me: people who succeed are often criticized and hated. So if your only goal is to be famous and loved… that’s not going to work out for you. Some people hate just to hate.
Focus on what you want your daily life to look like when it comes to being under the spotlight. Practice that if you’re unsure. If you like the daily life, then the spotlight will be an extra bonus rather than the determiner of your happiness.

Check The Path of Destiny
You’re meant to be recognized according to The Star card, which is a sign of fate. No matter what you do in life, eventually you’re going to get noticed.
But before you get too excited… if you don’t plan your way to the spotlight, the spotlight will be chosen for you.
Consider right now what you’d most likely be recognized for. Imagine a person who is impulsive, doesn’t have a stable job, and is greedy for money. Do you think the person is likely to become famous for a good reason? No, they’d probably commit a crime!
Or what about a nicer example: a child loves to draw, but they focus later in life on a career in finance. What do you think they’d be more likely to gain fame for? Not art. They’ll be some hotshot finance bro on social media.
The current trajectory of your life indicates where you’re most likely to step into the spotlight. If you don’t like it – it’s time to change your focus.
Refine Your Destiny
Right now, the universe is indicating with the Four of Wands, Reversed that there’s something about your trajectory you’ll be unhappy with. This isn’t a major arcana card so it could be a sign that you’d be in the spotlight for something positive or only mildly upsetting, but ultimately not relevant to your true desires.
This could be as simple as an artist who practices drawing portraits instead of practicing their true love of landscapes… or someone who gets caught cheating, but their life isn’t ruined and they just get divorced and remarry someone else. So a serious thing, but it won’t destroy your life.
Now is your opportunity to make sure that whatever you become famous for is something you want to happen. Try brainstorming this: identify the one to three things you would most like to be known for and then give parameters… what are the things you would like to be included in that renown? What do you want to be excluded?
Now Is The Time
Now I’m not too alarmed by your reading. The Knight of Swords is a card of action, and I think you’re going to see this reading and make an important adjustment to your trajectory. You’ll take inspired action quickly and probably change the course of your life forever. Some readings are just like that. You get it early enough.
You don’t need to wait until conditions are perfect. Do what you can now and be consistent with it. In time, you’ll reap the rewards for the seeds you plant today.
It’s that simple, actually. The future is always made up of the actions and circumstances that reflect the present. So take the present into your own hands.
Destiny is more like a framework rather than an exact sentence. You get to work within those confines to make it look like you want. And in your case, the spotlight is your destiny. But choose why you end up on stage.
