Rise Again — Tarot Pick a Card
Hello, my soul friends! Today I have a psychic tarot reading on how to rise again after a difficult situation. Seems fitting after I had the flu for the first time in seventeen years.
So whether you’re going through a temporary obstacle or something more serious, this reading is for you.
All you have to do to receive this message is pick one of the piles above using your intuition.
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
For this reading, I’ve chosen the Believe in Your Own Magic Oracle deck (this is an affiliate link that supports me if you make a purchase). Remember that you have free will. That means you can manifest the positive and avoid the negative of any reading.
Now let’s help you rise again like the amazing phoenix you are.
Pile 1: Terrarium
Clover
In your spread, I see a preoccupation with the past. Fortunately, the past doesn’t need to be your present or future.
The first card is Clover with the wisdom message of “Release your guilt.” It seems as if you’re burdened by the weight of your regrets. No matter how good your intentions are in having regrets, being so consumed by those regrets that you can’t function or improve your life isn’t serving you or anyone else.
Part of letting go of those regrets isn’t forgetting them or choosing not to take responsibility. Rather, it’s walking away from the charged emotions those memories carry.
Whether you did something by action or lack of action, it seems like some part of you believes being stuck in that regret is the only way to pay for that mistake. It isn’t. Either you owe some sort of reparations and you aren’t tending to it or you’ve already paid those reparations and you’re not letting yourself move on.
Even most criminals pay their dues and eventually rejoin society. Why can’t you?
Villain
There’s some indication in your spread that you aren’t even 100% culpable for whatever you feel guilty about. The next card, Villain, has the wisdom message of “You can always rewrite the story.”
You either were never the person responsible for what went wrong or someone else was the catalyst for your poor actions. You’re beating yourself up without full recognition of this reality.
Not only does this mean you aren’t fully responsible, it also means you’re likely to fall victim to the same thing again.
You need to look at your past and rewrite yourself as the hero. Perhaps a flawed hero for some of you, but someone who is trying to do the right thing in the end.
Right now, it seems like you’re reliving your memory and writing yourself as worse than you are each time. Try to take the opposite approach going forward.
One book that might really help you is one I’m reading called Personality Isn’t Permanent (affiliate link) by Medium member Benjamin Hardy. You’ve likely cast yourself as a particular type of person who can’t change and you do that because you perceive your past as an identity that is fixed and static.
But you can make things different for yourself because you can be different than you are now.
Forgive
The last card is Red with the simple wisdom message of “Forgive.” This card doesn’t clarify who should be forgiven, and while it can be you, it can also mean other people, society, and so on.
You’re probably building a lot of resentment and aggression. Your life has likely been a struggle at times and even unfair.
But holding onto that negative energy is poisonous and it will prevent you from rising again. When people are reincarnated, they sometimes relive aspects of their past lives because they were unable to let it go.
Forgiving now is a symbolic transformation of what your soul goes through when it’s finally at rest. You’ll be able to move on and pursue other adventures and interests instead of rehashing the same karmic cycles throughout this lifetime.

Pile 2: Jewelry
Lioness
Your spread is about personal strength and stepping into your own autonomy. The first card, Lioness, has the wisdom message of “you’ve earned all your stripes.”
Life has been rather storied for you either in events or personal revelations. This has led you to fully embodying experiences and learning from them. This is an achievement that should be celebrated because who you are now and all the wonder that entails did not happen by accident.
You made a lot of good decisions, or good analysis after bad decisions, that made the current you possible.
There may be a part of you suffering from imposter syndrome in the areas where you have skill. That’s because you’re aware of when you were previously unskilled and don’t want to assume your current progress means you’re a master.
But just because you don’t know everything there is to know doesn’t mean that what you do know isn’t valuable. You’re someone to look up to and someone with good advice or knowledge to pass on.
Escapist
Part of the story of the phoenix is that they die before they’re reborn. For you to continue rising again, you need to honor your need to rest. That’s why the second card in your spread, Escapist, has the wisdom message of “come home to yourself.”
You need a place where you can unwind and fully be who you are without reservation. Teenagers and younger adults often do this quite well (if they have their own room), but many people start to become self-conscious or find themselves limited in their privacy, perhaps due to marriage, children, or other people who live with them.
That’s why I love the idea of man caves and she sheds because it gives people who often don’t have their own private spaces a private space. You need to have that for yourself even if it’s just a corner. And if space is especially limited, you could have a box, closet, or folder on your computer where you collect things that represent you and you enjoy being around them.
The escapism here is meant to get you in touch with the unfiltered reality of your mind and personality. Some part of you is always performative in front of others, so having a place where you don’t have to perform will be where you can find the most rest.
Raindrops
Once you feel like you’re honoring your personal expertise and have created a place to escape, now it’s time to open yourself to others.
Part of being able to express yourself is letting other people express themselves around you. The final card, Raindrops, has the wisdom message of “take a chance on them.”
Allow people to tell you what they really think and feel about the world. Sometimes you hear political opinions you don’t care about or a somewhat concerning hobby fixation, but often you realize that the person in front of you is more nuanced and interesting than you expected.
You may not make friends with everyone you meet, but you’ll grow to appreciate people for who they really are and in return, you’ll be able to rise and express yourself in ways you didn’t previously. Because what you allow other people to do in your presence they’re far more likely to return the favor for.

Pile 3: Book
Tower
You need to treat yourself. Yeah, I know, maybe you were expecting some super motivational or productive message, but the universe just wants you to be nice to yourself. Sometimes self-love is healing and restorative in a way grit and effort can’t replace.
Your first card, Tower, has the wisdom message of “Unplug and relax for a spell.” There’s a literal message here, but I’m also reminded of digital detox. In our modern world, technology often causes our dopamine to be saturated.
Did you know that pleasure and pain are related? Anytime you experience one or the other, your mind tries to balance things out to bring you to a neutral state. So when your dopamine is saturated with addicting social media feeds or by binge-watching your favorite show, there’ll be a mini-depressive period after your brain will serve to balance your mind.
Don’t want to experience that? Taking short, regular detox breaks where you relax with low-intensity activities will help. That’s gentle activities like meditation, walking through the park, or listening to ambient music.
Some creatives even rent airbnbs nearby to disconnect and reset themselves for a few days.
Homeward
The idea of home isn’t just a house or an apartment that you sleep in. The second card in your spread, Homeward, has the wisdom message of “Take yourself out on a date.”
While I disagree with the casual dating message implied in this card, the symbolism is helpful for you. Home is where you feel comfortable and make a life with people you care about.
By taking yourself out to do something fun, you’ll return home with a new person (you) that you’ll be able to get to know more intimately.
Notice this is something that’s intentional and likely different from your normal fun activities. It’s also a little bit formal or dressed up. It stands out. The goal isn’t to be on a date with yourself forever all the time, but to be able to bring yourself home and move towards the next and more committed chapter of your life.
Rising again isn’t about just trying to do things over. It’s about tackling your life with more intensity from a foundation of personal integrity and strength.
Sundress
It’s important to frame your life purpose in context for what you can do for others. We’re social creatures. But you need to also frame that other-centered life purpose in a way you can tolerate. That’s why the lesson of your third card is so important: Sundress has the wisdom message of “Do it for you.”
Whatever you try to do in life, even when you’re trying to help other people, try to do it in a way you enjoy. A great example of this is parenting. There are many ways to parent effectively, but the best way is one a parent can be consistent with, so it means one they can tolerate individually.
Their child may love watching the same video over and over again, but it’ll probably drive the parent mad if that was the only way they could bond. Instead, compromising by including your own desires in the compromise is the way you need to live and the way you’ll be able to continue rising throughout your life.
Caring for others means understanding that caring for yourself is part of the equation. You’ll rise higher that way.
