Reset Your Life — Tarot Pick a Card
Hello, my soul friends! Today I have a psychic tarot reading on how you can reset your life. This is for anyone who wants to have a fresh new start.
To receive your message from the universe, pick one of the piles above using your intuition.
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
For this reading, I’ve chosen the Angel Guide Oracle deck (this is an affiliate link that supports me if you make a purchase). Remember that you have free will. That means you can manifest the positive and avoid the negative of any reading.
Now let’s give you a do-over!
Pile 1: Dragon
Letting Go Is Freedom
You need to think of your life like a pyramid. That there’s a pinnacle or top of the pyramid that frames the narrative of your existence and the bottom of the pyramid all the other wonderful qualities that make you the person you are.
Your first card, Cut the Cords, asks you to let go of what doesn’t fit. A good exercise to help with this would be to take a piece of paper and draw a large pyramid. Divide it into three equal sections. Label each section from top to bottom as the following: 1: your life purpose, 2: your needs, and 3: your wants.
If you don’t know what your life purpose is right now, write down “beloved child of the universe” and then proceed to fill in the other sections.
On the outside of the pyramid, list any worries or anxieties plaguing you, but which didn’t actually make the rest of the pyramid. Example: You might need to pay your bills, but you realize that your troublesome boss could be cut out of your life by finding a different job. A job is a need, but your specific boss isn’t.
Once you identify what doesn’t have a natural fit, understand that the things outside your pyramid are mutable and can be changed starting now.
Integrating the Spiritual as a Habit
Now you need to understand the message of the second card: Mother-Father-God. Everyone who reads this pile has a biological mother and father, but you also have a link to the divine. That divinity has a relationship with you similar to a good parent – you’re cared for, but that parent has a different role than the others.
While the divine can and does intervene, it doesn’t intervene in the same sense a good mother or father would. The purpose of your relationship with the divine is to forge a spiritual and holistic relationship with the universe through your mind-body-spirit connection. Different cultures have different ways of describing this relationship, but we all have a higher purpose.
Even if you don’t know your life purpose right now, the best way to reset your life is to understand that the details of your circumstances are mutable because your purpose is transcendent. Your circumstances are the extenuating details, not the source.
To understand that better this year find a daily practice you can do for a few minutes or a weekly to bi-weekly practice you can do for thirty minutes to an hour. Meditation is a good fit here, but any spiritual or contemplative activity will fit. Abide by your preference.
Making Space
Resetting your life this year is primarily about feeling at peace. That peace could be a slower pace or it could be contentment with the events of the year.
Your third card, Ease and Grace, features an angel in meditation. I see this as a sign you aren’t attached to things beyond the pyramid that you created for yourself.
One thing you may notice when doing the pyramid exercise is that there comes a point where you’ve put too many things inside of it. If that’s the case, it’s a sign your attachments are many instead of focused. You might over time change the things you put inside your pyramid (especially in the want section), but your current pyramid shouldn’t be so crowded you’re unable to make sense of what you’re looking at.
In fashion, sometimes making a better outfit isn’t about adding something, but taking one thing away. Try that now with your pyramid – take something off, even temporarily for this exercise, and see how that makes you feel.
Sometimes, you have too much on your plate because you feel you must include that in your life. If you feel freer with that item off your list, it’s a sign that it’s something you need to cut the cord on and cease your attachment. At least for now.

Pile 2: Plant
Get Situated
It’s time to channel a plan of action to reset your life. The first step is seen in the Earth and Ground card. Earthing and grounding is essentially making a physical connection with nature, usually by standing barefoot or sitting/laying down on the ground.
If you don’t have access to the outdoors or would prefer to stay inside, sitting in a meditative position and visualizing roots growing from beneath you and plunging into the earth is a spiritual alternative to this practice.
The point of this exercise is to enter into a contemplative state and then channel spiritual energy and messages into your body. Because you’re channeling directly from the natural world, you should expect more practical messages.
Meditate for at least five minutes, more if you’re comfortable, and feel free to use guided meditations or nature music if that makes sense to you. If you need a visual and you’re indoors, consider watching a nature video.
There’s some indication in the research that being in nature or looking at awe-inspiring natural environments through video and pictures activates our sense of wonder at something bigger than ourselves (thus our spirituality).
Feel the energy of growth and potential coming into your body. Visualize it in your mind, and if you can’t visualize it in your mind, narrate that visualization with words aloud.
Write It Down
Your second card, Sacred Plan, is about automatic writing. After you’ve completed your grounding exercise, grab a piece of paper and write whatever comes to mind without stopping or picking up your pen.
Some of what you write down might be intrusive thoughts, nonsense, or general ideas that interest you, but try to get down three pages or spend at least fifteen minutes freewriting.
You should’ve entered into an altered state through your meditation that will help you do this automatic writing exercise with channeled messages.
However, some of it may be nonsense or just your thoughts. If that’s the case, you may find it helpful to underline or highlight things that seem to resonate on a higher level when you go back and reread it.
Even if you don’t find anything of interest, it’ll help clear your mind so you can do the next step – which is to create a plan of action for the year.
Claim Your Identity
There are a lot of ways you can go about planning your year. However, the final card in your spread, Raise Your Vibration, calls you to be in a heightened state of mind beforehand.
The grounding and automatic writing should’ve helped you get into a temporary state of heightened vibrations or be receptive to that energy. If you’re still feeling low, turn on uplifting music as you finish out this exercise today.
Identify one goal to frame your year around. Some of you may know this intuitively or saw it in your automatic writing. Others may just decide to pick something to have a goal this year – whatever works for you. Phrase this goal something like this example: “I want to exercise every day” to “I am the person who exercises every day.”
Focus on identity claims.
Now, using the heightened energy of this entire ritual to your advantage, write down three traits that would describe a person of this identity. For example, “I get dressed in exercise clothes every morning,” “I love smelling the outdoors when I go for runs,” and “I follow runners on social media.”
This whole exercise is about grounding yourself into a practical energy, freeing your mind through automatic writing, and then identifying and adopting the identity of the person you want to be this year.
It’s not about goals when it comes to resetting your life – it’s about becoming.

Pile 3: Tea Pot
Allow Yourself to Help
I’m going to advise you to wait and react. It’s not that you can’t use your own intention and willpower to reset your life, but that your cards indicate some fated events to occur in the near future (three months or less) that will alter your perception of the world and invite serendipity.
The first card, Opportunity and Change, features an angelic being with a bird in her hand. Birds serve as messengers and as signs, so I see this as a fated event leading to a foundational shift in the way you approach the world.
This event is a positive one or at least opens a door that wasn’t previously available to you. To take an active role in inviting this event in, write or affirm the following statement three times after a quick meditation: “Universe, I accept the good future you’ve planned for me.”
Consider repeating this affirmation daily or at least once a week until your fated event comes to pass. That will help you stay in the right higher vibration to attract it in the best possible form. Opportunity comes knocking, but if you keep the door closed, opportunity will go to the next house.
Seek the Power of Kindness
There’s a lot of positivity in this reading. The second card, Compassion, is filled with green which represents the heart chakra. It’s not clear in your spread if you’ll be receiving or giving compassion – perhaps it’s even mutual.
But what this card does indicate in resetting your life is that there will be a more positive social and emotional experience going forward.
Even if you give compassion, science has shown that helping others tends to make us feel better too.
To bring in this energy earlier and perhaps superpower your own compassion energy, ask yourself what is one small thing you can do to be kind to others. To appreciate the compassion you’ve received, consider a memory where you felt gratitude.
Once in college, I had an objectively model-worthy good hair day. And everyone who saw me knew it. People I had passed without talking to all semester stopped and marveled at my hair. While it was a strangely good hair day that never happened again, what the event really taught me was that people do see you and see the positive around you – even strangers.
People will act out even small measures of compassion when they see the opportunity before them. And opportunity is what is about to happen to you.
Compassion doesn’t have to be grand. It just needs to be sincere.
Where the Heart Lives
What a happy final card in Romance and Connection. Part of resetting your life is in the existence of romance. The reason why romance is so powerful is that it’s two people going together as life partners. It’s not just sexual chemistry.
If you’re in a relationship, expect the fated event to result in feeling even closer to them. If you’re single, this is a sign that you’re about to meet someone new. For those who had an important past romance, this could be a sign that you use those memories to improve your life in some way. If this person passed on, they could be returning to you in spiritual form as a guide.
This is because the connection you have to someone you love romantically is transcendent and thus very spiritual. It alters your brain chemistry and elevates your mental state. You become a different and better person. You ascend.
Your relationship with this person, whether it’s active, soon to manifest, or is a past memory, will help reset your life because it will cause you to approach life not as an individual, but as someone who loves and is loved.
