November 2021: Tarot Pick a Card
Wouldn’t you like to have a sneak peek into the next month? You can with a tarot pick a card.
It’s easy: all you have to do is select one of the piles above that sticks out to you the most. That’s the universe sending a message about what’s coming your way in November.
After you select your cards, choose below or scroll down to your pile.
In this reading, I’m using the Everyday Tarot and Moonology oracle decks. I’ll be asking spirit about the general theme of your month and how each week will go.
Now onto your November tarot reading!
Pile 1
This is going to be a very exciting month for you. The theme card is Full Moon in Aries which is a lunar phase known for a lot of impulse, but that’s another way to say inspired action. Aries gets things done, and this month is about starting (and finishing) something important.
Just make sure that whatever you put your willpower into this month is something you care about. You may feel a little burned out when all is said and done, so make sure what you do is worth the effort since you won’t realize how exhausted you are until it’s too late.
For you, November is going to be a bit turbulent because of this energy and the course of events that follow. You have three major arcana cards which means this month is going to stand out.
Week 1: November 1st to 7th
Your first card is The Star. There are a lot of potential meanings here, but the one I’m drawn to is a divine inspiration – your first week will be marked by a passion project that you wish to pursue.
Make sure you’re open to this project and allow yourself to explore all the possibilities. Even if you’re feeling down and you don’t think something amazing is going to come your way, the energy for this month promotes making a dream come true, so if nothing new pops up, choose something that’s been on your mind for a while and pursue it with joy.
Week 2: November 8th to 14th
With the next card being The Chariot, Reversed, expect an obstacle coming your way this week. You’ll feel frustrated and want to ram your way out of the situation, but be patient. The willpower of Aries is what’s admirable – not the mindless stubbornness that can cause an Aries to self-destruct. And you are at risk of self-destructing this month.
This card is a sign that you need to accept that there are things in life that are outside of your control. Instead, what you need to do is look within and draw your strength from whatever motivates you. Why are you so passionate? What inspires you to push on?
Once you know that, you’ll be able to pick yourself up and keep going. You have a lot of momentum this month and there’s no sense in wasting it because you have a temporary obstacle. You have the potential to be unstoppable in November.
Week 3: November 15th to 21st
This next card is one of the best possible cards to pull with your theme card, so let yourself look forward to this week. The Page of Wands is in the suit of fire, which is the same element as Aries and has a lot of youthful energy.
You’ll feel a lot of relief after the difficult week before this one, so give yourself time to play and explore different aspects of your passion project. Who you are and what you do is always evolving, so allow that natural change to come your way.
Week 4: November 22nd to 30th
Your last card rounding out your month is The World, Reversed. Although your passion project may take some time to reach its conclusion if you chose a more involved one, you should have made enough progress this month to finish at least a phase of work.
Because you likely were a bit impulsive in November, you probably didn’t finish this phase or you did it a bit sloppily. That’s okay! Now is the perfect time to finish up or revise what you did so you can look at it with pride.
You’ll probably feel a little resistance to this closure because there’s so much going on in your life, but the lesson you need to learn is how important your inner fire is to get started (and finish) something that matters to you.
Pile 2
I don’t think you’re going to feel as if you have a lot of control over your month. Your theme card for November is the Full Moon. There are a lot of messages which could have been written on this card, but the one the creator chose was “Surrender to the Divine” and I get the sense with all the reversals for your four weeks that you’ll be at the mercy of fate.
However, this is always an illusion. The universe has written a destiny for everyone, but our free will means we get to make revisions. For you, allow the power of this month to inform you of what the universe has planned for you so you can work to co-create your destiny going forward.
Week 1: November 1st to 7th
Your first week is going to be overwhelming and you’re not going to want to work with anyone – even the universe. Take the time to rest and look within to figure out what it is that will make you truly happy in life.
Notice how this card features three women dancing and toasting cups? The Three of Cups, Reversed is about avoiding cooperation and working with yourself instead. This is an excellent time for self-care and other mindfulness activities so you can determine what you don’t like about your life and what you want to change.
Why this is so important for you is the lack of control you feel is primarily because of external influences. If you do your best to provide a personal retreat for yourself, you can remove yourself from those influences and gain back some control in your life.
Week 2: November 8th to 14th
Whenever someone is at the mercy of fate, they tend to get materialistic. Your second card, the King of Pentacles, Reversed, is all about focusing on money and material resources over personal relationships.
Make sure that you spent the first week figuring out what you want because you need that going into the second week where you’re going to be reminded why your fixation on materialism isn’t good for you.
The fact is that you can’t control your entire environment, but the rat race to be rich or “comfortable” is usually a desire to control your environment. That’s why materialism doesn’t make someone happy – you can’t actually control your entire environment. You need some non-material and spiritual to guide you.
Make sure that you tap into your spiritual reserves through ritual, community, or mindfulness practices. This will help you create a more holistic relationship with your environment that incorporates your higher purpose.
Week 3: November 15th to 21st
The third card is The Hierophant, Reversed which is where you buck tradition and go your own way. I sense that this is the week where you begin to take clear action to determine your future. It won’t be easy and you’ll feel frustrated at times, but it will be spiritually rewarding to look within because you have stopped looking at the material world for guidance.
Intuition is a way the universe helps to co-create your destiny with you. You’re able to see the next steps and decide to accept or reject them at will. Lean on and love your intuition this week because it’s how you make the right choices for yourself.
Week 4: November 22nd to 30th
Your month ends with the Page of Cups, Reversed. What you want for your life is becoming clearer the more you act on it, but I think you’re going to find that the end of the month will introduce a new way to go about that lifestyle you hadn’t considered before.
It’ll be different but inspired by what you wanted for yourself earlier this November. Don’t be afraid to explore that possibility even if you decide to do so privately and out of sight from other people. It’s okay to keep your plans secret at this point. You’re still just beginning to understand your destiny and how your free will helps manifest the future you want.
Pile 3
November for you is going to be about others more than yourself. Your theme card is the New Moon in Virgo, a time to begin a charitable project. However, it can also be a time to tend to your health or do self-care.
There’s a lot of conflict and drama ahead of you, so I sense this theme card was chosen by the universe to help you create a more productive and positive mindset going forth. This month may be a trial for you, but it doesn’t have to feel like an imprisonment. Those who give tend to feel a sense of fulfillment others never do. So keep this in mind as we review your weeks ahead.
Week 1: November 1st to 7th
With the Three of Swords card being your first week, you’d be forgiven for feeling disappointed. This is a card of heartbreak and sorrow. But because it’s a minor arcana card, this grief will pass quickly and one you’ll recover from – even if it doesn’t feel like it’s possible at the time.
Notice the raindrops in the background: this card and the suit of swords its in is a symbol for catharsis. As horrible as your misfortune is, it needs to happen. A lot of the time the heartbreak you face is from the bad behavior of other people (and sometimes yourself) which you didn’t even realize was happening. Be prepared to learn about a lie, cheat, or steal that you previously missed.
The advice is to forgive wherever possible and to love yourself if it’s not. Because it’s already happened and you can’t change that. But you can change how it will affect you in the long term.
Week 2: November 8th to 14th
Your next card is the Wheel of Fortune, Reversed. In tarot, this card has an interesting meaning because even right side up it can be a sign that your fortune is temporary. As a reversal, it’s a message that your grief is temporary too. The wheel of fate turns and turns, always changing. Good becomes bad and bad becomes good.
But this is a week where you can learn that the heartbreak you suffered doesn’t have to happen again. Even if you weren’t responsible, there are usually things you can do to avoid that situation or to withstand it easier the next time around.
Take this week as an opportunity to get organized (hey, you’ve got some Virgo energy this month). You’ll also find that helping others will lift your spirit. Giving tends to give back in its own spiritual way.
Week 3: November 15th to 21st
Although a disappointing card in its traditional meaning, the Five of Pentacles can be read positively in your spread. This is because it symbolizes your journey away from heartbreak and other conflicts. It’s a message from the universe that help is nearby.
You may feel like you’re in the middle of a storm right now, but that storm will end and you’ll find shelter. Try to not dwell on negative thoughts and consider what you need to feel safe and happy again. Once you know that, channel your inner Virgo and begin researching potential options you can take. There is almost always something out there, and in your case, the universe is saying there is something if you just look.
Week 4: November 22nd to 30th
The month ends on the card Seven of Wands, Reversed. Here the universe is reminding you not to fall to external pressures. There’s a lot of energy in this card and I sense you may face another disappointing event, but stand strong – you have an inner passion and will that’s more powerful than you may realize.
It’s important to give, but what you need to learn this week and from this month altogether is that giving should be done happily, not out of expectation. You likely feel pressured to conform to the expectations of others and that’s not healthy.
Instead, see giving as a power play: if you have the power to give, you also have the power to withhold. A dark thought, but one which is likely empowering to you after feeling a bit helpless throughout the month.
