Your Spirit Animal — Tarot Pick a Card
You either have a spirit animal or your guides are about to use the symbolism of an animal to send you a message in this tarot pick a card reading.
To receive your message from the universe, pick one of the piles above using your intuition.
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
For this reading, I’ve used the Wild Unknown Animal Spirit Oracle and the Wild Unknown Tarot decks. These are affiliate links, and it helps support me if you love the decks and want to buy them for yourself too.
Remember that you have free will. That means you can manifest the positive and avoid the negative of any reading.
Now it’s time to discover your spirit animal.
Pile 1: Flowers

Bird on Fire
You have a powerful spirit animal coming in with the Phoenix. I guess that’s not really surprising: those who do tarot readings tend to be spiritual people. However, you may not realize the significance of this particular animal in your life.
The phoenix is about rebirth and cycles. So, for it to either be your spirit animal or show up as a temporary messenger, it indicates that you’re about to go through a transfiguration. That means a dramatic transformation of the self where you die to yourself and are reborn.
If you’re going through a hard time or would like to improve your life, now is your chance. Take special notice of any phoenix imagery, or that of fire and birds, that comes into your life.
Phoenixes aren’t a real animal, so you’ll only see them in your dreams, as a symbolic projection in your subconscious, or in imagery all around you. Some lucky few in this pile may even feel the presence of this spirit animal, especially through warmth.
Important Message Incoming
The second card in your spread, Son of Wands, is a message of passion. The particular thing your spirit animal would like you to know is an inspirational purpose or motivation that you didn’t have previously or haven’t had in a while. You may feel you need permission for something, and that’s part of what this message is achieving for you.
This tells me that the area likely to be rebirthed in your life is going to be either in your hobbies, your spirituality, or the sensual romantic connection you have with someone.
But before that takes place, you’ll receive a message and it’s going to be a very clear one. Sometimes, spirit animals are at work in our lives and can be subtle. Not this time. You’re going to receive a pointed message soon that gives a clear direction.
Even if you need to interpret that message with your intuition, you’ll still recognize that it’s a spiritual message when you receive it.
For those who receive this message in a tangible form that can be safely burned upon receiving, do so. It’ll be a nice ritual addition.
Wide Open Spaces
I find it interesting that your last card is The World. This is a card of the environment around you, circumstances greater than yourself, or a life culmination. It’s big news and a big aspect of your life, so this isn’t going to be a whisper when it comes to your spirit animal phoenix.
Consider the ways in which your passion, that which the phoenix is trying to transform, could be affected or affect the world. Imagine someone who chose this pile and they keep seeing images of a phoenix in relation to music. They realize that they need to pursue music professionally.
That’s not an easy task these days, but perhaps when looking at those messages, they see the phoenix telling them to lean into their unique gifts and interests. One of the niches of music I listen to most are those that create dark, cinematic indie pop often related to romantasy books. I don’t even like romantasy books, but I enjoy the music.
Trust that whatever your passion is, there’s an audience or a romantic partner out there for you. The world is big and there’s a space for you in it. All you need to do is trust that transforming into the real you is the best possible path forward

Pile 2: Train

On Small, Colorful Wings
The Butterfly is a spirit animal, and you’ll often see butterflies in tarot cards because of it. Specifically, this spirit animal has the symbolism of transformation because of its transformation of caterpillar to butterfly. It also represents the human soul across multiple cultures. Not to mention gentleness, freedom, femininity, and guidance.
These are animals that exist in reality, but aren’t always present, so if you see a butterfly, there’s a possibility it could be a message from the divine.
Butterflies are common symbols outside of spirituality, so don’t assume a butterfly in an image or in your social media feed represents a message from the divine. However, if it keeps showing up or the presentation is unusual, take note and consider the context.
In your case, the butterfly may not represent a specific spirit animal you have unless you’ve encountered them a lot in your life. This animal may be more about messages that you’re meant to receive from other non-animal spirit guides or the universe.
A Specific Strategy to Try
The Six of Cups is a happy emotional abundance and usually brings about feelings of safety or nostalgia. This sets the more challenging tarot card coming up next in a happy context.
You’re going to find your life getting easier, and with that ease, you’ll feel comfortable to put more energy and heart into what you do.
I recently learned that you should never plan or problem-solve when you’re upset or feeling negative emotions. That’s because it can lead to rumination and rumination either proceeds, causes, or results in recidivism of depression. Instead of looking at their problem correctly, someone in a negative mood will begin to ruminate and cycle through destructive thoughts.
So you’re being set up for success here and I want you to grab that success as much as possible. Start gathering moments of happiness like trinkets you collect and display. A gratitude list would be a good idea, but if those moments seem too rare to list every day, make a general list you put somewhere and then add to it when that happy moment comes upon you.
As soon as you write something down on that list, go ahead and ask yourself what is one problem in your life that you would like to analyze. The bigger the feeling of happiness you have, the bigger the problem you can tackle.
Seeing a butterfly could be a sign that you’re in the right emotional state to try that out.
The Butterfly Exercise
Your last card is the Seven of Wands. This is about being on top, but also feeling like you have to defend yourself. But in your spread, this is about you seeing a problem in your life and being able to overcome it.
The spirit animal of the butterfly here is you seeing the possibility to change your life circumstances. And, like a butterfly, you may right now be in a caterpillar or chrysalis state of being. That’s okay. Just know and have confidence that you’re on the precipice of finally being able to tackle a major life issue that’s been plaguing you.
If you would like, you can prologue this by writing down your problems on one side of the paper and then listing something you’re grateful for on the other side of equal intensity. Then, in the middle, write down how you could solve that problem.
If you don’t have a gratitude of equal intensity for everyone on your list, that’s okay. See this list as proof you’ll have something to be grateful for coming your way soon.

Pile 3: Lamp

An Unexpected Symbol
I don’t know if I’ve ever pulled the Fire Ant before, and if so, not often. This is an unusual spirit animal, and it symbolizes aggression, surprise, and working together. This tells me that you’re either someone of intense and organized inner passion or you’re meant to activate that energy soon.
The fire ant is a real animal, but you won’t find it in every location. I also rarely see it on social media or in movies except as a passing plot device. It’s possible you may or may not encounter real fire ants or symbolism in your life soon. So instead, be aware of when the symbol of this animal materializes in your behavior or the behavior of others. That’s when you need to watch for context for a message from your spirit animal.
It’s possible you may see ants and the color red, orange, yellow, or fire symbolism.
In particular, this spread is about someone being aggressive in such a way that they make a decision they regret. Since this is your spirit animal, you’re either someone with a bad temper or you’re around people with bad tempers.
But it signifies a need to have a tribe that you can work with rather than one that works against you. You’re meant to feel like you have allies and not sleeper agents who are the enemy.
What to Do
Your second card, Judgement, Reversed, is about a bad decision. In particular, a bad decision is going to lead to a commitment that shouldn’t be entertained.
I don’t have a strong sense of this representing you making a bad decision or someone else, so it’s likely one or the other is true for everyone in this pile. Instead, let’s talk about what you should do if you see fire ant symbolism or feel it within you and want to prevent a bad decision.
If you’re the one to make the bad decision, use that symbolic preview as a reminder to take five deep breaths. Then, ask yourself what will be the next logical outcome if you pursue your course of action. If it’s a bad idea, good job, you caught yourself before you made a mistake!
But what if you’re the object of someone else’s aggression? In this case, like a fire ant, it may come as a surprise. In the wild, the first thing you need to do when attacked is to flee the mound – so get away from that person’s tribe who can side with them against you. People can be dangerous in groups.
Then, you treat the sting by washing it. This is about purification and cleansing yourself of the ick factor. So washing your hands of the situation and the people involved. Detach, permanently if possible, so you can cool down and apply the metaphorical anti-itch medication. Or whatever self-care you need to feel good again.
A Surprise Spirit Animal
Regardless of where you fall in this spread, The Chariot can be channeled as your secondary spirit animal. Here we see a rather grand looking horse charging bravely forward. That’s your passion directed toward something you value.
Ants are almost mindless in their individuality. Horses are free, even when they’re in a herd.
In spirituality across history, there’s this concept known as sympathetic magic and it’s where much of the ritual advice you get is inspired by. If you want money, you create a sympathetic/mirror image by using money or the color of your local currency in a spell.
Similarly, you can channel that freedom and individualism of your spirit animal the horse by activating that energy and claiming that symbolism in your life.
Spend time with horses if you’re around them, or, if not, claim that symbol with images on your computer or phone wallpaper, put up a piece of artwork, or keep a talisman in the shape of a horse in your wallet.
Whenever you feel like you don’t have power over yourself or the situation, think of that symbolism you’ve claimed and use it as a tether back to freedom.
