Defeat Your Enemy — Tarot Pick a Card
We all have our battles to face. My soul friends, today I wanted to do a tarot reading to help you defeat your enemy: whether it’s a person, the system you’re up against, or something you hate within yourself that you want to change.
To receive your message from the universe, pick one of the piles above using your intuition.
After you select your cards, scroll down to your pile or choose below.
For this reading, I’ve used the Crow Tarot deck. This is an affiliate link, and it helps support me if you love the deck and want to buy it for yourself too.
Remember that you have free will. That means you can manifest the positive and avoid the negative of any reading.
Now let’s see how you can defeat your enemy.
Pile 1: Little Fairy

It’s All About You Now
I have some good news for you. Had you not done this reading, you were already set to defeat your enemy. That means I’m not going to give too much advice in your spread. I don’t want to alter your fate by causing you to act in a way that changes it.
The first card is the Wheel of Fortune. This is good luck. To some degree, defeating your enemy is somewhat out of your control. But in a good way: circumstances are in your favor and you’re going to be given an opportunity to get exactly what you want.
That means if you’re currently struggling, your life will get easier. If your life is otherwise fine, but your enemy is annoying, something will push them out of that position of power over you.
Either way, you’re unlikely to mess things up.
Why Life Will Improve
Now the reason I think you’re going to defeat your enemy is The Hermit, Reversed. This is about coming out of your shell. That can mean socially, but this is also a card of enlightenment, or rather, coming down from your period of study and then sharing your light unto the world.
There’s been something building inside you that’s been trying to get out.
For those whose enemy is a person or system, you’ve slowly come to a realization about who they are or how to deal with them. For those whose enemy is something inside of them, that realization is how you can change to be the person you want to be instead.
Either way, this enlightenment is going to change your world for the better.
Make Life Worth It
The final card is Three of Swords, Reversed. This is about overcoming heartbreak and accepting clarity on a difficult topic. Your wisdom wasn’t earned easily, so don’t expect defeating your enemy to be instant or without struggle. You’re earning victory.
Perhaps that’s why you got this pile: you’re working towards a solution, but you’re not sure it’s going to work out. This reading is a confirmation it’s going to work out.
But more than defeating your enemy through enlightenment, this card is also a sign that you’re going to be able to let go of your negative emotional attachments to this situation.
It’s not unusual for people dealing with an enemy situation to be altered by that situation in an emotionally damaging situation. You’re going to heal from that and move on better and stronger than ever.
Just be aware that it comes with accepting wisdom that’s difficult. It may be something you could’ve never accepted otherwise without going through your experiences. Use that wisdom going forward to avoid future enemies and empower you in other areas of life.

Pile 2: Mortar and Pestle

Who the Real Enemy Is
It’s a cat fight between you and your enemy, but the real enemy is much bigger than you both. The first card, The World, Reversed, indicates the problem is environmental. You need to go at least one level higher than what you currently believe your enemy is to find the real perpetrator.
If your enemy is a person, it’s someone above one of you or somehow influential. You may or may not know this person yourself. If your enemy is a system, go up in the hierarchy: for example, if you’re having trouble securing housing, it could be the government or economy to blame.
But if the enemy is within you, this indicates the problem goes deeper. What you think is the problem is just a symptom of a greater cause within you. For example, someone who struggles with weight may assume the problem is overeating, but maybe they have an underlying health condition they’re unaware of that causes them to overeat.
Defeating your enemy is knowing who it really is in the first place.
The Battlefield Explained
I see you in this spread as the Queen of Cups and the enemy you believe is the threat as the Queen of Wands, Reversed. That’s why I call it a cat fight: you seem to be equals and you’re primarily fighting what appears to be a social or soft battle that’s emotionally devastating.
As the Queen of Cups, you have access to intuition and you’re using it in a moral way. But the Queen of Wands is abusing their power to burn you. There’s some vindictiveness here.
It may seem like you’re not fighting a fair battle, and that’s true. But this person is a foot soldier for the real enemy, and they have no real power of you.
What you need to do is tap into your intuition, so let’s get into that.
Your Particular Approach
You may or may not know how to find the true enemy, so let’s approach the known enemy first so it can open the door.
If it’s a person: Any time I see the Queen of Wands, I’m seeing “mean girl” energy (even if it’s a guy) or someone who uses black magick. They may not always know they’re using black magick, and if that’s the case, it’s the evil eye they’ve used against you. Either way, the evil eye has been activated, and I strongly recommend buying or making an amulet (I draw one).
From there, you’re going to use your intuition to step over them. If you use magick, do that, but for most who choose this pile, I want you to use affirmations, scripting, and even journaling to get in touch with your higher self and use that as a guide going forward. Check in at least once a week with whatever practice you like best. Over time, you’ll beat them. It’s a war of attrition.
You can’t always control the social landscape around you, so fighting with your intuition using spiritual power is best.
If it’s a system: You’re primarily dealing with the foot soldiers of a greater hierarchy, and they may be limited in how they can help you even if they were sympathetic. Ask for a manager or supervisor if possible. When none is available, you’ll need to find a higher organization to plead your case. They can just blame the foot soldier if someone needs to take the fall.
Someone whose having difficulty with housing may find their landlord or realtor is “the boss” at their level, but they’re still accountable to some sort of professional organization or legal board. If laws have been broken, it’s time to report them.
Here, intuition is about using your social skills to reach out to someone with more power than the person you’re dealing with is answering to.
When I had trouble with internet access to my old house and they wouldn’t send anyone to fix it for weeks, I e-mailed a company executive outlining my plans to create a testimony of my poor experience. I told them I would purchase advertising on Facebook and target the audience for that campaign to gamers in counties where they had a competitor.
My internet was fixed the next day.
If it’s within you: You’re fighting with your shadow side, and the difficult environment is mental. Do shadow work or introspective activities like journaling. If the issue is particularly acute, seek the help of someone you trust or a professional like a therapist.
Intuition through shadow work, self-help, or therapy will help you reach a solution.

Pile 3: Flower Bouquet

You Can Already Defeat Them
You’re about to be free from your enemy, but it’s going to come about in a sudden, unexpected way. The first card, Eight of Swords, Reversed, is about freedom from bondage. Because of the rest of the cards in the spread, I suspect there’s some divine intervention going on.
Someone or something is going to help liberate you. But the truth is, you always had the power to liberate yourself and that is likely why you were attracted to this reading. You hope you can defeat your enemy. That hope is real.
What this card is about is self-sabotage and limiting behaviors. There’s something you’re doing right now that’s trapping you in your current position. It may not feel like you have a way out, but you do.
This makes me think of someone in a domestic violence situation in the developed world. There is a legal system set to protect them, government welfare, and charity programs to help resettle them. But what makes domestic violence so dangerous is that the abuser gaslights the abused person and makes them believe they’re alone and help can’t be found.
They only leave either when inspired to by someone else or when they believe it’s a life-or-death situation and “take the risk” to leave anyway.
Hopefully, your situation isn’t as dire, but there is help for you. You don’t have to wait for divine intervention (though you’ll get it eventually anyway).
How You’re Being Trapped
So right now, the key is psychological. But let’s discuss how divine intervention would work to see if you can trigger something similar a lot sooner than waiting for that moment. The second card in your spread, The Tower, is about a sudden reckoning.
This can refer to your enemy facing justice for what they have done. And when that occurs, you’ll obviously be free of them and perhaps even vindicated for all your struggles. But the third card, The Sun, is about a godly, creative, and happy energy.
You need to think with a positive mindset. Not to activate toxic positivity, but one of the tools your enemy is using against you is belittlement. The person, system, or toxic part inside of you wants you to think less of yourself.
But you are capable, meaning you have everything you need to get what you want out of this situation. The other person is either jealous, the system oppresses in general, or the toxic part of you is part of a psychological loop like depression or mental illness where dark thinking becomes natural and part of a pattern.
How to Free Yourself Early
What you need to do is activate an internal locus of control rather than fixate on the external locus of control which is your enemy. A locus of control is the focus of agency. Someone with an external locus of control believes that someone or something outside of themselves is in power. An internal locus of control is where you think you have power.
You have varying degrees of this all across your life and the goal right now isn’t to fix every one of them. Instead, identify something you’re struggling with. Example: a woman’s enemy is her boss. That boss is always angry and targets her. The woman assumes she’ll never escape the misery of the working world because HR isn’t listening to her complaints.
In this example, the external locus of control is the boss. The woman believes there’s no other possible boss but that one. And the boss wants her to think that way too. But an internal locus of control would look like this: the woman hates her abusive boss. Because no one is listening at work, she’s applying for other companies with a better reputation. She knows her worth.
What is a positive identity statement you can give about yourself right now? What is a proactive step you can take soon to improve your life? It may not change things overnight, but it might be quicker than waiting for that divine intervention.
